yes this move is WAY too safe. Even if you catch it, all you get is a parry which gives you only a light. Low risk, high reward. Not good.

@@artransformeraqe5692 Kensei's is the same but does not open on the full mix-up like Gryphon does. Kensei gets a following light, that's it. Gryphon gets kick or undodgeable light, or bash...

I don’t understand why gryphon has such a bad reputation when aramusha is litterly a combo stopper. Warmommy is stun lock cock in block. And hitokiri can’t be punished. Yet people complain about gryphon he’s not that bad of a character to fight. His undodgeable lights are annoying sure but when you have characters like hito whom can initiate the kick immediately for a 25 damage heby is a little bit much along with her dodge attack. Or how Kensei is still the most unbalanced broken character in this game. Yet I see no one complaining about him. Gryphon is way to use in low reps but in higher reps it’s hard to actually use him as he has no soft feints. Or real actual damage that’s easy to land. Kick is well just listen for the audio que, dodge then guard break. You can just block most of gryphons attacks as he has no unblockable heavy’s or lights.only displacements. So he has no real pressure apart from veterans heavy which once again is easily punished. People over look that kensei has soft feints I frames quick recoveries high stamina decent HP. Unblockables panic buttons and hyper armor. Though kensei isn’t considered monkey brain. I think he is personally as I’ve played every character Kensei is by far the most broken apart from hito…… on console I can see how gryphon can be annoying in low reps I would know as I’m a lawbringer main on console. Light spam is real so is the hito spam….. but never have I ever had any issues with gryphon, he suffers from the same issue old aramusha did can do a lot but it’s not very effective. They nerfed his damage too. Do I think gryphon is op no. Do I think he’s under powered no.. I think he could use a small rework, but that’s about it. I will never understand Ubisoft. How they have characters like hito put agasint characters like LB. Whom is probably the worst character in the game right now. Nuxia atleast has deflects and punishes…lb is just a hybrid with a heavy’s health no real middle ground on offense or defense. Or good openers. Back to gryphon whom has a decent opener but can once again be punished by GB. Same for lb. Gyrphon has good flow that’s about it. If you played him after nerf you’d know he’s pretty poopy. Low skill no. High skill in high reps sort of… as he can’t do much.

@Akkemn Two u can start ur mixup from a simple light over a heavy parry, can go for a kick, undodgeable heavy or a 3 light chain..

ran into the gryph a couple times in dominion. I didnt need to but I whipped out my rep 70 shaman and demolished him in every fight. granted he could just be trolling it was still very satisfying haha

Beautiful display of skill on Queen Nobushi
I feel this gryphon is hella bad at other heroes, that’s why he’s only using gryphon. I’m Rep 15 with him, but I don’t play him like he’s good. He’s JJ and LB mixed with a bit of Hito and Zanhu. Don’t get me wrong he’s a cool character he’s just really annoying to play against and I don’t even play against other players 90% of the time. All my heroes are at least above rep 10. So I kinda tend to play everyone cause I enjoy them no matter the nerf or buff or reworks they get. Mostly glad with shugoki’s rework where he can faint his heavies into a hug and not loose literally almost all his health for missing it.

if they are not bleeding,in general your backwards light can act as another attack once you do your combo finisher it is great espically when finishing the undodgeable combo is also an option select if you backwards zone

why do you never go for s light? it's your parry max punish and flows into your moves. bleeding opponents take more dmg by all your attacks - even folluw up bleed's dmg is increased when already bleeding.
