Mostly, but I do believe spaces where merit is the only thing one needs to get the foot in the door still exist. Granted it's hard to find in corruption haven SA, but it's still there. Try harder to find it.
True but not in all industries. There is zero to no bribery in recruitment of health trained professionals, The problem is studying for popular qualifications where there is an oversupply & ambiguity, eg, Business Management, Political science etc
This episode landed me a another technician job within a a few days after watching it. I could negotiate for a better salary and benefits without fear. I actually interviewed the Director with confidence I never thought I had 😅❤ Thank you very much @KingDavid!
Thank you @King David Studio for bringing an HR specialist to debunk all the questions we have silently been asking ourselves. The insights shared here are invaluable. Thank you Boniwe for your time too.
Super proud of you Boniwe, not many HR professionals are able to articulate HR practice so clearly. Thoroughly enjoyed the conversation, KEEP THE FLAG FLYING HIGH. Rea leboha
My observation is that there can be a disconnect between HR process or requirements and the actual division where the person is going to work. HR seem to throw a textbook at the process whereas the actual division know what they want based on what they have seen on practise.
I dont know if its just me but the concept of employability consumes a large portion of a persons regular life. Corporate wants growth and consistency but never Change. Humans are volatile and have to suppress their Change to represent the company. Im more convinced than ever that employment is for the career people or a stepping stone to entrepreneurship.
Wow, and i say Wow again! Boniwe is rockstar of this HR thing. HR is definitely her calling, and she is so passionate about HR matters. Some of the advise ive read or heard before from other people, but they just hit a sweet spot and light a bulb when i hear it from her. I feel greatly empowered. Thank you Boniwe and David.
So much insightful. I’m a professional but I also struggle with the mindset that they are interviewing many Candidates, this gives me the confidence to believe in my own unique abilities because they are special
Thank you so much for this Podcast, so valuable. Thank you so much Queen for this valuable knowledge and King David for this platform 🙏🏾. God 🙌 bless you guys and best of luck to every graduate looking for employment
This Episode just made my day Bra Dave, am getting that next interview for sure💯💞, sister Boniwe If you can see this you are a star🌟, please share all this knowledge to others who might need it❤. Asbonge🎉
Thank you so much for this interview, it's been very informative and I really want to see Boniwe on this channel again, talking about this topic and more. She has really broken things down to the T.
Gosh😊. What an interesting & informative interview. Boniwe is such a brilliant being. Just from listening to her, we can tell she is very passionate about her job❤ Thank you KingDavid Studio for facilitating the vital conversations around work recruitment.❤🙏🏼 Gained quite a lot from this interview.
Please try to invite more such persons to your platform. Especially during this ongoing unemployment pandemic. This HR Specialist is GOLDEN...We need to hear this advice from the "horse's mouth," so to speak. She is exeptional, and as a Ph.D. Candidate in a senior management position in government and wanting to step out into a non-governmental position, I have learned multiple KEY points!!!
Thank you sir for this podcast and your informative guest as a person with decade work experience what room to improve in my next prospective employer to stay relevant and better equipped myself in my next long term plan to greener pastures
Thank you so much Boniwe and God bless you for all that you do. You are really helping me to do a serious self introspection. I really need to work on my self-esteem and how to value myself.
My highlight is the. Touch on bringing the human in human resource staff. I remember when I applied for one of the leading asset management firms in SA. The recruiter posted the opening on LinkedIn. They stated what they wanted and I met all the requirements but once I submitted my CV and documents I got a rejection letter of which I wasn't even shortlisted for an interview and when I enquired what I lacked it was one thing after another from academic performances which was not included in the requirements as well as work experience mind you this was for graduates I went further to gain a more relevant qualification for the job as well as experience to better vet me and still got rejected and there was no reason stated. Which is quite sad because if recruiters are honest one wouldn't waste time putting in an application as time and effort were invested in putting the profile together.
1:10:00 Making tea for another person is rubbish let's be honest, tjo batho ba rapella mmereko Taking advantage of a desperate person, y'all jobseekers stay safe.
I am in HR and I would NOT advice anyone to make anyone tea. When I started my internship, my boss told me to never make anyone tea unless that person is a visitor.
This is my sister guys. I'm proud of her as a professional, entrepreneur, content creator and as a woman. She really adds value. 💐🎉🎊😍
🎉🥳🥳🥳
so what must we do
She is so articulate, real HR Pro
She is absolutely brilliant. HR related stuff is definitely her calling. More blessings and wisdom to her!🎉 👏 👏 👏
Tell her I said Thank you for the knowledge.
You also need to do a podcast educating South African HR professionals and Recruiters about the unprofessional stuff they do and expect of candidates.
Connection + Bribery money = Job , this is new South Africa!!!
Thats just what is happening in south africa right now

Thank you, Uncle Dave.
We should be employed soon since we've been let in on errors we make and weren't aware of.
My observation is that there can be a disconnect between HR process or requirements and the actual division where the person is going to work. HR seem to throw a textbook at the process whereas the actual division know what they want based on what they have seen on practise.

The quality of these videos is top tier ❤❤
Why do HR's have the tendency of asking for current/recent payslip, after that a person does not get a feedback at all none whatsoever?
Good question.
So much insightful. I’m a professional but I also struggle with the mindset that they are interviewing many Candidates, this gives me the confidence to believe in my own unique abilities because they are special
