I’m just now finding out about these guitars. I’m totally intrigued by their commitment to the worship community! No other guitar companies that I’m aware of have been bold enough to do what they are doing. I’m just sorry that no U.S. company has enough faith to do the same. I’m seriously thinking about purchasing one. Thanks for your video.
It starts by having a commitment to God. I think it is encouraging that a guitar company puts so much of "God" ON their guitars in the first place. The bridge of the guitar is designed to look like an Ark. The dove on the fretboard...the olive branch around the rosette...the cross on the headstock...the slogan on the back of the headstock. Can I say, though...that these are more than just guitars that have a company founded on Biblical principals....these are GREAT sounding guitars. They truly are. I hope you knob one for yourself. Just got a G520 and it is a lovely instrument. Great sound and plugged in is quite smooth compared to previous experiences. Your review is a great summation of my experience.
just picked up a G100 the sound is so true. Had a jam with a mate on his taylor the other day..the acoustics out of my gopherwood carrier louder more sustained sound.
These guitars sound great! Breedlove has a similar "sound pillar." Different implementation but same idea. Couple the back and side. Also, playing Taylor and Gibson doesn't mean you've been playing some of the best guitars--just some of the best factory made guitars. You need to try Lowden, Olson, Wingert... ;) I thought I had played the nicest guitars in the world in the "high end" rooms of my local shops. But something like a Lowden F50 bevel in Sinker Redwood and Blackwood is a whole nother level! Thanks for the review.
Thanks for the comment. I said "ive played some of the best guitars that are out there." I followed it up with a comment about "if you know me" and mentioned "Taylor" and "Gibson". I think you have mis-associated the two statements. I had formal endorsements with the two companies...but that statement was separate from the broad statement of "ive played some of the best guitars.". I appreciate your mention of the Lowden. Ive personally played...and appreciated an F50 Sinker. It played beautifully. Ive also owned an f-35, toured with a 95 Olson SJ, and played in studio with a Wingert...Lehmann...Santa Cruz...and others... the point, however, of my video...was the Gopherwood...and I am quite fond of the sound. Have you played it yet?
WeLeadWorship.com Oh yes! Now I hear you clearly! Lowden got me into woodworking and lutherie. If you are comparing Gopherwood against those then I will be taking a second look at Gopherwood. Why do you think the sound pillar works? Does it transfer just enough energy to the back without inhibiting the front? I don't think that a solid pillar would to the same. Have you tried Andrew White guitars as well? These new guitar companies with overseas high end lines seem to be really pushing the price and quality of a new breed of "online" guitar. God bless, Seth
I just got a guitar from Faith guitars, they build guitars from their cheapest ($600 naked) to most expensive ($1,200 legacy model) price ranges with ALL SOLID WOOD. Does Goferwood do the same?
It depends on the flavor you like. I personal own a G800RE and aG820CE but I'm looking to add a new 250REST to my herd. The GREAT thing about thing about each of these is the SoundPillar. adds a new sound with each tip.
