Crowley wants to be chosen not forgiven. He wants his Angel to choose him and his side. Something that cannot be forced. Aziraphale needs to experience how bad Heaven is on his own skin. Crowley was showing him but that had gone as far.

Zira needs to learn that it is not the people in charge but the system as a whole that is toxic. He thinks if the right person has the ear of the Metatron and God that he can create a better world.

Aziraphale needs to come to the point where he doesn't say "I need you" but "I want you" to Crowley. That's the moment they'll find happiness. 💔

“Unforgivable”really means “unlovable” in the context that it’s stated. Aziraphael may mean “I love you” when he says “I forgive you”, but Crowley can’t hear it. Those who feel unlovable and unworthy never can.
Really I agree. For all his strut Crowley really feels alone and unloved. I lost my only friend....I hope to see in the next series Aziraphale actually pull him in for a soft kiss, not that desperate forced one that Crowley did. They both need that
