Over the years, I've only seen bits and pieces of the Rob Evan version. I kept saying to myself "There has got to be a full version of this one because Rob has such presence in the role." I'm so very glad that someone finally posted the whole thing. Thank you!!
I actually have a few versions that I still need to get transferred from tape- that’s why I only uploaded a few bootlegs of my favorites of the (seemingly countless) “under dog” shows that (*IMHO*) contributed immensely or paved the way for what we see today on Broadway (which is tied directly to what the paying audience finds permisible 🤦🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️🙄)
I have every version - I personally attended 7 different showings - not including the opening and closing - and this was an *unusually* commercial-heavy project; meaning there was a whole new photo shoot and film reel done for every single actor to take on the title role from Cuccioli through to Hasslehoff - and yet this Robert C is ringing no bells 🔔..🙈🤷🏻♀️ Was he a swing? Wow I’m an idiot *EDIT* everyone calls him “Bob” lol so it didn’t even occur to me that Robert C was Bob Cuccioli 🤦🏻♀️
@@jessicaruizcollazo2372 no, that would be *insanely* time-consuming, expensive and just plain ole’ counterintuitive lol. Now, what I *am* saying is that there was a video distribution company that bought the rights to sell & distribute “Jekyll & Hyde: The Musical” on DVD (which would be the *disaster* of a DVD that they sell with David Hasselhoff; tragically playing the titular role) Think of it as the dress rehearsal for the DVD shot and sold commercially for retail purposes. This was simply the *test* “pro shot” for the *actual* DVD filming.. ie: the test-shot was filmed during the *matinee* performance, screened by the distributor’s team so that last minute changes could be made (Like mapping out exactly how many cameras were needed and precisely where the cameramen needed to be etc… ) and the final production was shot the same night; following this test shoot - during the evening performance… Do you get it..? Does that make sense to you..?
It's so great to see this recording without all the skips or lags. Rob Evans is remarkable in this. Do you happen to know how this footage was made available? I would imagine this is the kind of stuff that would stay hidden in a vault somewhere, haha.
This is a loaded question…only going to say one word that links everything I’ve uploaded it’s up to you all to work it out .. it’s not hard lol 🤷🏻♀️😅 ADVERTISING This is a test shoot for the filming of the DVD later on that night. 3 cameramen sit in their designated spots and do a test run especially if it’s already got a distribution deal signed
i need to watch this thru again- the other version u posted of this the quality was different i think but i haven't watched enough of this to be sure. yeah the other one had a lot more weird skipping and cuts-- as far as i can tell that has been completely eliminated here. and yes!!! the "his work and nothing more" doesn't repeat in this one!! i will have to watch this one thru again since it has better quality
The other one had no issues with tracking I don’t think….? Edit: I just checked- the quality is quite phenomenal actually lol: czcams.com/video/wf89eqqybu4/video.htmlsi=SptjHiGwr8XQ-0Vj

I wish I had the technology to upscale this audio and video of this recording. Then it would be the only version of JEKYLL & HYDE I’d watch. The quality of the DVD release with Hasselhoff is that it has been upscaled for streaming.
*Question* : Who’s Rob Evans? *Answer* for all you new to the lives of Jeckies 😅😍🖤 - here’s the quick of it: Well… from what I remember, *Rob Evans* was initially the “lead” understudy for the show’s titular characters “Jekyll/Hyde” (which was initially he played by *Robert Cuccioli* / aka: the guy you hear on the *original Broadway cast album/recording* 😉) As time went on, Cuccioli left & in between finding their next *big name* to use for *stunt* *casting* 🙄. I believe Rob Evans took on the role for those “in-between-lead-actor”-transitions. I believe he was the lead swing (on and off) from the beginning to the end of the show.
Actually, Russian version is pretty good too (Saint Petersburg Theater of Musical Comedy; with English subtitles): czcams.com/play/PLDIarktnxUGjEw9ABn4ZfLV8seafIx9Uy.html

Rob is sooooo much better than the Hoff
Well that’s just “duh” lol 😝
Thank you so much for this! I wish they had Robert C for the filmed version, he’s my favorite. Rob Evan is really awesome tho!
