Another excellent video! I’m attending an academy after having done your video course & the difference in quality & style of teaching is jarring. I feel like I’m being taught now to sound like an awkward robot instead of a real, patient-centered doctor. I’ll have to do your course again to unlearn some of the academy’s teachings.

Thank you! I’m glad the video course is helping. Sadly we hear this from a lot of doctors who attend our teaching after using other resources 🙏

Dr Aman, you just blow my mind. i have been struggling with this. For me, this is not a CAN PASS, THIS IS I WILL PASS with my first attempt. I wish i had found you earlier as my exam is now very close, BUT I WILL PASS with your guidance and videos and for my further studies and upgrading i will seek your mentorship quite early. Woooooooow

    Thanks
Actually performing a scenario with tips is much more helpful than only tips. Hopefully will see other such videos covering plab stations one step at a time

Hi there Dr Arora, excellent video and a very clear cut approach to management that I find very helpful when practicing my role play cases for OSCEs.
I just have a question as to whether the approaches of issues BEFORE options can differ depending on the condition that is diagnosed in the situation? Say for example a patient who comes in with a typical set of Pneumonia symptoms, a classic pneumonia case, and you have clear cut guidelines to prescribe antibiotics per the hospital guidelines. How do we approach a patient centered management plan in this case?
If the patient is concerned about something else other than the MEDICAL antibiotic management of his condition, say because he thinks its something else or he wants to talk about his work and get a fit note for his boss, after the golden minute of setting out all of the issues am I as a doctor allowed to take the lead in which issues to discuss if I suspect this to be a doctor led case that is, for example, emergent, or if medical management is only the real way to manage this condition.
I do know, from watching your online course videos, that there are exceptions to the rule that you put in the video, and that if a doctor suspects something emergent through going through red flags, the dynamics of the case change where it is the doctor who is leading the management, not the patient. But for cases that kind of fall in the middle of being semi-urgent I get stuck a bit to a point where I feel I'm not doing my job as a doctor managing this situation the way it is supposed to, and letting the patient dictate their life choices to their detriment.
I do hope to answer this question myself maybe with watching more of your videos or getting some more clinical experience. But anyway, great video and a lot of great points to take down, would be amazing if you were to chip in with your two cents on this? Cheers in advance x

Thank you for the kind words. I would suggest not to ignore your gut feeling. If it tells you that you should take the lead in a role-play - whether acute or semi-acute - then it suggests a doctor led managed case. I hope this helps 🙏
