Thanks for going over this premium, I hadn't heard much about it after they changed the 335 flight model and this sold me on it. After about 10 matches I can say it's probably my favorite aircraft, as the speed and firepower fit my playstyle perfectly, and I'm consistently able to use it to support my team due to that high speed
This is one of the planes that got me into WW2 in the first place. I really like hearing and reading up about the plane's birth in Germany needing a fast interceptor, and this plane fit that bill. Too bad War Thunder doesn't do the Pfeil any justice.

Good to hear your son is on the mend. I use my 335 as a first strike bomber and then do some strafing with dem cannons. The Arrow shines in Enduring Confrontation in the ground attack role with speedy rearms.

Fun fact: in terms of speed at alt, the Do 335 B-2 is actually the fastest propeller-driven plane in the game, doing ~790 km/h at ~7km (see forum.warthunder.com/index.php?/topic/402957-dornier-do-335/ ). Makes you really wonder when people complain about the Do 335s being misrepresented ingame, lol.

Honestly i forgot that plane existed until i recently got into it again. The plane is performing superbly NOT because its so good statistics wise but because everyone underestimates it and doesnt pay enough attention to it. Also btw first! Lol i cant believe i have fallen to a level of saying first and playing the do 335... LEGIT.
The one problem all heavy fighters in WW2 and before have had, was that in order to get the power and performance of 2 engines, you had to pay with a lot of additional drag and bad roll rates, compared to single engine fighters. The Do-335 was basically the only heavy fighter that solved that problem. It was basically a flying cheat. Eating your cake and still having it. Considering that, its performance should be impressive, the best out of all heavy fighters, probably. I never played it myself, but from what you hear, it is pretty lackluster, like all German heavy fighters in this game.

The DO 335 A-1 with 755 kph at 5.0 rb br vs. the do 335 a-0 at 5.3 with 775 kph. the premium is no option for me, it seems to be a bit to expensive compared to other premium planes

I don’t understand. I’m sure it’s my lack of skill and experience but I don’t like this plane. I’ve seen a lot of comments, videos and other stuff praising this plane to the rafters so I bought it without due diligence in test flight in order to have a good fighter-bomber for my German 5.7 CAS. I’ve been hugely disappointed with what I’m getting. I’m in an almost constant state of overheat unless servicing the engine constantly, either via throttle reductions to 91%-ish or fiddling with the WEP prop pitch to around 50%. This is with 100% radiator, of course, and I wouldn’t use prop pitch for temp control except as a last resort. Ok, this would be annoying but I’d put up with it if I had anywhere near the performance I read and see other people have been reporting. Sure, it’s fast, but I get moderate severe compression between 500-600kph and up and even when I’m slower, I can’t turn worth a damn. I’m not talking about zero or even 190 standards - I mean I find this thing harder to fly than all the other twins I have. The guns are great, and when I get them right they melt the target. But this is rare. My lack of skill with this plane, compared to what others’ report combined with the constant side-climbing to regain altitude in a poor climber means I spend most of the time climbing, and dealing with overheats. I definitely try to not get below 350kmh as the plane feels like it’s about to fall out of the sky under that but I also have to be careful to not go above 500 or else I have concerns I’ll plough into the ground. Ok, perhaps this is exaggerated and I’m just frustrated at the difference between my expectations and results but the point is, people have raved about this plane since the FM upgrade. Is this all really down to my (admitted and considerable) lack of skill and experience? I’m not THAT bad these days, I get kills in a P38, ta154, p61 and other big twins but not in this, to me, stinker. Has it been nerfed since the raves or do I just really need to work out how to use the thing?
Good video, but I feel like it should get a lower air spawn. Allied bombers get shit on within the first few minutes of the match and they often don’t have anything that spawns in at a decent height.

And since im not that good with planes and dropping bombs i was thinks ng on getting the 288 cause of the bigger bombs, so that if i dont actualy hit the target spot on i can still kill it, and i have watched some videos on the 288 where ppl say its quite manouverable and fast for a bomber and for its battlerating so im asking you for your opinion, which one of these planes has a better learning curve and will ve better for a begginer like me, cause i almost never play air battles and i dont have any experiance. Now i want to start learning and unlocking some planes. Thanks for the responses. I like your channel alot, have a nice time
after trowing the boms though the d0-335 can actively attack other planes, while with the 288, you'll have to wait till they come to you. the 288 is great in air rb though. But for ground rb i would use the 335.
I used this plane in tank RB like 2 years ago! It doesn't seem to fly like it did back then. I think I'm going to take it out a bit, but before, I have to remove all that dust that accumulated with the years 😉
This thing is cancerous in tank RB and it really is one of the few vehicles that should have it's BR increase to maybe 6.7, SPAA at this BR isn't good enough to counter it either.

I really enjoy the DO series since Gaijin reworked the flight model. A year or so ago, you couldn't pay me enough to fly either of them.

Rather take the BF109Z much more usable and has more 30mm cannons

The j7w1 is 6.3 and japanese don't fight against germans but they do get mixed together sometimes

i would buy the D-13, but the 335 B2 can be very good as well. Think what you want to use it for, and then make a decision for yourself.

I agree... he flies it well but even my stock Attacker can be difficult to use against an 8.0....
