- Gonna be ranking all 5 star burst animations, the true ones anyway, that means no traveller since they get no fancy cutscenes. I hope to find inspiration for a new outro among these.
5 star burst animations are often very pretty, and in making this I realized it's easy to miss some subtle details in some of the bursts.

You'll know he's so biased with Eula when both Eula and Itto have the same exact burst animation but atleast Itto have cool looking weapon and sigil on his back after. Eula just rotates and the end. Lmao

I had to laugh when he commented on Kazuha’s bust being too extra. Everytime I play Co-op with friends and use Kazuha’s burst, I can already hear them screaming “I CAN’T SEE SH*T!” 😂

@@uraniaclover1828 to be fair, you don't really need to see much during xiaos burst since the jumping is already kinda annoying (I don't have him but that was my experience during his trial)

I guess there are some pros in playing with the lowest setting lol, kazuha's burst is still a bit blinding, but not as much
@@lauragrigoletto906 Yup, I remember my friend's screenshot abt kazuha's burst and I was really confused because it is quite transparent especially when it swirls cryo or hydro compared the high setting Kazuha burst

I feel like barbara's burst animation being cinematic is hoyoverse making up for traveler being the only 5 star without a cinematic burst
I completely forgot she has one, but at least I can fall back on the title not making sense if included her. xD

I think the stars and colors are really nice so probably A just barely bordering. It's a really nice burst for a 4 star.

Burst animations are getting a lot better. Imagine Dainsleif's animations.
I think they started out pretty strong for the most part but the quality is definitely getting better and better with crazy ones like Raiden's/Yae's

I also like all of the archons bursts because the little ombre end of their hair glows when you cast it:)

Jean’s gets bonus points for me because if her burst kills the final enemy in the first half of abyss, the last frame you see is her opening her eyes before it cuts to black.
I quite agree.Her burst should rank S same as Kokomi. Why? Theirs are very special and rare they save and protect players from dying! It feels unfair Jean got the lowest rank...as her main I feel sad. Take note that Jean has the saddest and gentle looking eyes.😭

As much as I love Itto (really really much), nothing could top Zhongli's burst. The animation, the voiceline (I will have order), the crossing arms. Man, he's so iconic

Yea, all Itto does is a twirl and pop a rock club. Zhongli posing epically while summoning a meteor alone is better, but you also get the crash explosion in the end.

Another cool detail about Diluc’s burst (from a Diluc main): after you reach a certain friendship level with him, he smiles and blinks at you while casting it!
as an another Diluc main, (i was going to be a ganyu main but i lost the 50/50) what friendship level is it at? mine is currently 7?

diluc smiling and winking is default (no friendship level required), but it was bugged for so long that he would have a blank expression so those who saw it kept saying it's a friendship level thing when it's not :))

Kazuha’s voice is so soothing, I usually play in Japanese dub but when I get Kazuha I’ll have to switch to English just to hear Mark Whitten 😩

i feel like butterflies have like -100 resistance to everything because when im just shooting ganyu arrows around for no reason, you know as one does, it does like 30k it normally does like 11k with no melt

You know, I think a 4-star animation that really gets overlooked is Xinyan. Her burst is so cool! Awesome fire effects going everywhere.

One thing id like to add about ventis burst after maining him for a year is that he quickly twirls his bow before he starts aiming. Its one of my favorite little details about him :)
the awe i get when i saw zhongli's ult from afar during coop, that will always be the most memorable coop moment for me lol
yeah, mainly because you really see the sky turns dark and a meteor suddenly appears XD
I like to use it to get my friend's attention in co op when I'm not using an archer

The coolest part of Diluc's burst is if you use it at night, the sky will lit up as if the dawn is rising. Diluc is an amazing character in term of lore and symbolism. There's something wonderful about the night watcher and the dawn bringer, the one who bring the hope of the dawn even in the darkest night.

They're getting more and more anime as time progress. Yae having lighting n shading effects on her entire body unrelated to the actual environment is an obvious direction. And I am all for that "wow!" factor.
But I still like the simpler ones like childe's or comedic ones like hutao's. Easy to the eyes.

Interesting how different the personal opinions and perception of “cool” and “beautiful” can be. For me, Itto’s Q is leaps and bounds ahead of anything we had before, because it looks like a fully separately rendered animation, like a manga panel came to life, or a second from a legit show. And Childe is S tier in my book just because he has TWO animations (and two different utilities for two ults). Everything highly subjective of course, no negativity here. ^^ Also I fully agree on Qiqi’s Q being stunning, those visuals absolutely convey the “frost” effect.
honestly xiao burst being short and just wearing mask is reasonable because he need to use his ult time plunging the enemy if the animation took long enough than the ult would just go very short and useless
For the sake of this list I judged purely on looks since otherwise Diluc and Keqing would be F for taking way too long
I can get why some people think Jean’s burst is boring, but honestly I just like it because it’s so elegant and it fits her character really well. Besides that, the fact that you put so many characters in S just shows how much care the animators take with these
Diluc's burst infusion with skyward pride passive is such a cool weapon, definitely recommend anyone with skyward pride and a diluc try it out.
If you get kaeya and skyward blade and get th cryo infusion from chongyun, you got a pretty cool looking sword.
Skyward pride is super slept on for Diluc in my opinion. It actually out damages Gravestone at high refinement, too bad it's such a pain in the butt to get extra copies.

I’m a little biased as a keqing main but every time i get the opportunity to use her burst it’s always amazing to see.
A fun fact, every electro when using their burst (four stars included) turn the sky dark. Ei, being the archon turning the whole *screen* dark instead of just the sky is a cool detail
When you use Mona's burst on enemies, it will show Jean, Amber, Lisa and sometime Klee's constelation
MIhoyo does a great job with these animations, though I honestly prefer the 4 star bursts as they don't screw up your camera position!
Especially with Mona where you Screen is littered with Stars and Mobs

Xiao's burst's details are really good and the colors are cool with the brightness of it. It's just that it's only 1 second, and he only wears it, doesn't have anything more
If you look closely, when Hu Tao hit’s an enemy with her burst, it will show the soul of the enemy coming out of their body
I still remember the beginning where we played diluc and the first time I got to see his burst... Damn that feeling of awe! I still haven't felt anything to the same level.
I use Kazuha in just about every team, but there’s been too many times when I finish a domain and don’t know where the tree is so I spin around for a second trying to find it because Kazuha blocks everything.

As an Itto simp it hurts but it's me being honest, otherwise I would have scrapped my Eula intro for his immediately.

My ranking would be (ignoring dmg and effects to the stats of our enemies and alies)
S rank (gorgeous/fucking stylish and with little to no down sides to it visually): Diluc, Raiden, Zhongli, Keqing.
A rank (gorgeous but flawed in its visual or beautyful/cool): Eula, Venti, Yoimyia, Yae Miko, Kazuha, Hutao, Mona.
B rank (pretty, less stylish/less detailed to the ones above, BUT still goodlooking or pleasent to see or use): Ganyu, Ayaka, Albedo, Shenhe, Aloy, Tartaglia (melee), Xiao.
C rank (somewhat pretty, nice to look at, fairly detailed, too short, particularly stylish/not everyone would like it the same way some might): Qiqi, Kokomi, Klee, Jean, Itto.
d rank (lame, just lame): Tartaglia (ranged)
You forgot traveller, they go on E rank too
I think Ayaka's one is really pretty for 2 reason, the way she kinda dissolve her ice sword and gather it in her fan, and then releasing it with a really pretty and rare facial expression for her, I don't think Ayaka makes that face anywhere in the game but her burst.
I do love the end as well when she snaps the fan and it goes poof ^,..,^
I saw Childe and Ayaka and i already knew he's trolling so I enjoyed the video without taking it seriously. 🤣
Nope, I'm actually being serious, but these are just my opinions. To be fair to Childe his is way cooler in combat when riptide procs are going off everywhere, but without any of that's it's kinda too plain for my liking.

Just wondering if anyone else noticed that at the end of Albedos burst he snaps his fingers which causes small little symbols to flash- I just thought that was cool and as an Albdeo fan and wanter I thought it was a nice detail from one of the trailers :DD

I'm not sure if you look at leaks but I gotta say Ayato'd burst animation is an EASY S tier.
I did it as I went, wasn't sure where people were gonna land on the list so I just left the tiers there since I didn't wanna rescale everything.
Ayato's looks sooooo good from what I've seen, I can't wait to have it for myself!

Am i the only one who would’ve swapped diluc with ayaka? They both have similar bursts, but diluc’s phoenix comes out too slowly whereas ayaka swirls/tornado is very rapid and feels more hasardeuse
Functionally yeah the speed on Diluc's is horrible in comparison and is just overall worse, but Diluc's is still far more fun and satisfying to use for me personally.
Ayaka is good but diluc one looks complete

For me Zhongli and Diluc burst animation is SS. They are so iconic and have most b.dass animations. Especially Zhongli.

Raidens is easily the best in the game. Not only is the initial opening with her pulling out the sword, the glowing eyes and lightning effects amazing and top tier but they also went and did something amazing with the eye. Super grateful to have her for her sweet sweet burst animation (even if she only does 70k)
i agree with everything except for albedo, the blossoms exploding after make it an A tier for me but i might be bias bc i main albedo haha
this is why everyone should play honkai cause the ultimates of honkai solo every burst animation in genshin. KEQINGS BURST IS LITERALLY SSS TIER IN HONKAI

In my opinion I really like the way he swings his arm for the burst, he looked so unbothered while doing it lol, but you know what you should rate next? just plain bursts without the animation (when u see your co op member do the burst, those animations) i feel like that would be an interesting ranking!

My favorite is definitely klee, or yoimiya. Maybe I just like all the little explosions, idk. But what I do know is that Jean doesn’t deserve the D. Her burst reminds me of a dandelion field. My least probably is tartaglia, but prob biased.
Only on this one tier list, It's a little inconsistent at your judging. You judge xiao with his plunge and basic but not with itto and his huge claymore and unique charge attack plus the emblem on his back. And venti with his particle flying, hutao and her butterfly but not with jean and her flying dandelion. Otherwise agree with other placement 👍
Mona's looks really funny without the fancy camera. She basically just dramatically slaps the air in front of her.

I think you could tone down a little and either add SS tier for those who were "Obviously S" in your opinion, or push Jean in E, Albedo, Tartaglia and Itto in D, Aloy, Ayaka, Klee, Shenhe and Xiao in C and so on
That's a stupid move he will just end up triggering more people.

I think a lot of the points you made were pretty fair. And I'm glad you gave my babies Yoimiya and Keqing S-tier :) they're my favorite characters, and deserve way more love

The fact that diluc is the first 5 stars character in the game with no great animation on it but I think it's super cool with the fire lit on the floor and just a big phoenix coming through. I agreed for it to be an S tier.
My friends always get kinda struck by my Klee’s burst because we are like casually chatting and then I burst… they are just sitting there quietly for a sec, and I think it looks better from the side, like Klee actually floats like Qiqi and it’s mesmerising

Wonderful list and ranking, I wonder if you‘ll someday do an updated version with.. for example Ayato, Baizhu, Heizou, Dainsleif, … whenever those will arrive. Also a question, how much do you like it when characters „fuse“ their weapons during their ult animation, like Albedo or Ayaka? We only ever saw it with swords I think, but it definitely has potential…

Haha the kazuha rating is fair. It’s so pretty it makes me want him so bad, but playing with kazuhas is co-op is a little painful when there’s so much happening and all you see are flashing lights and numbers.

For me I would give xiao's burst an S especially when you slow it down it just gives me goosebumps just like raiden shogun, zhongli and diluc's
Edit: I'll add Itto to S tier because the rhythm of his special charged attack during his burst sounds great
Something that I really like about Planet Befall in Zhongli's demo is that it transitions from a cloudy domain like in Luhua Pool to Cloud Retainer's domain, which makes a powerful-feeling burst have even more impact
If you didn’t know, in Yae Miko’s burst, the lightning strikes is a Kitsune coming downward, kinda like it’s about to eat whatever it’s dropping onto

Kokomi was rated a bit too high if compared to the other S tier bursts. The epic portion is too short and without a lasting payload. It would be hard for me to say it's better then Hutao or Kazuha for prospective. I would have also been impressed if you included Barbara as a special mention. She's the secret 5 star given that she gets her own close up burst animation too.

I love this vid! I would have love it more if the burst animation viewing is a far away perspective instead of the actual animation. Like actually seeing how big is the burst radius, and how beautiful for example Mona's burst turning everything around into galaxy theme should be easy SSS
