I didn’t know wishing was a thing, I thought characters would just get added as the story progressed like the starters
glad i was not the only one 🥲
I swore we would get Jean. We met everyone else and added them to our team. I kept wondering when we'd get her. Then a friend explained gacha to me and my disappointment was immeasurable
I thought we could get all the characters by doing a domain w them like how we did with Lisa and Kaeya

I somehow didn't realise that the statue of seven heals your characters for the first few weeks of playing genshin impact so every time they died or had low hp I just fed them lots of food 🙂 When I found out about the statues I was devastated. I now hoard all food and never feed them to my characters unless they're literally dead because of my past experience.
Edit: wow I thought i was the only one who did this. Happy to find out we’ve all made some stupid mistakes in this game 😂 And I’m glad this helped some ppl realise abt the statues healing!
I did the opposite and never used food because I didn’t know you could do that. Lol
Happened to me also but I didn't like cooking food so I just use barbara's heal and wait for my character's hp go full again :)

the only thing i learned here is about the occuluses, that you can craft a device. I had totally forgotten that and am still learning it late cuz i already collected them. Like that's the 1dt thing i do. But i had to use the map interface yk, and mark down on the map each place..... it took me 5h+
I literally WALKED from Mondstat to Liyue during my early AR times and jumped over Waypoints to go to Katheryn in Liyue.
Lemme tell you I was DEVOTED to quests.
Dude when I 1st got the question I was so scared to explore I let it aside for a couple of months. I admire your courage going through unknown ground for Katheryn
tbh I think it makes the game more immersive but it's just not practical

I pulled Dehya early into my game, I was probably around AR 15, and since I was just starting out she was one of the best characters I had. I wanted to ascend her and found out her ascension materials were in Sumeru. So with most of my characters either at or barely past their first ascension I beelined across the chasm, through the jungles of Sumeru and straight into the heart of the desert in order to get those Sand Grease Pupas.

i love how when i started playing, i gave characters artifacts and weapons based on their COLOUR SCHEMES without looking at the stats. rebuilding characters after realizing was a pain-

When I first started to play genshin, I didn’t understand that there were limited banners. I thought that characters like Zhongli and Venti were always there in game and that the banners were just rate up. My friends spent 10 minutes explaining it to me

I'm a Kaeya main at AR53. No regrets. I fell in love with him since day 1. I have other Cryo characters that I could use, but Kaeya will be my boy forever! I love him! He's cute! He's sleazy! He's throwing criminals over their heads with this charme! He's funny when he annoys Diluc! Kaeya is my boy!

When I first started the game I didn’t realize that you could level your characters with exp books. I was literally going around killing all the hillichurls on the map to increase travelers level.
Just a brutal murdering spree to max a character your probably never gonna use again 😳 atleast you got drops right?

Because of this traveler is literally my highest invested character because i refuse to make my hours of sufferings go to waste.
i really felt that “play whoever you want” though. everyday i have been grinding for main dps shenhe. i could build characters that are meant to do big dmg but instead i have fun playing with her and watching her do dmg. its not too much right now but one day it’ll be really good :)

One of my biggest regrets is only making healing food. Those bonuses from attack, defense, crit rate etc have gotten me through a LOT. Same deal with potions, I thought that if my characters couldn't defeat something it was an issue with levels but oh how wrong I was, tried the exact same challenge with potions and food and it became a whole lot easier

Yessss, this is so true. When I did the thaw the shards out quest in dragonspine (💀trauma) I was struggling fr but after I made some flaming essential oils, pulled out the Adeptus temptation to improve crit + many other def and attack foods, it was easy peasy. It helps so much in many hard to pull off situations
@@dragonaxena the thaw out quest is something I will never do, even for the domain. My relative started Genshin impact recently and I first co op thing we did was to thaw out shards cuz I remembered how hard it was and that it was would be easier to defeat at a lower level.
@@lollipop5217 Yea its honestly best to co-op, when I was at my wits end I was on the verge of begging ppl in some random youtube comment section to help me lolol or putting in my profile like a big ol "SAVE ME" but i thankfully ended up getting it after doing what I mentioned haha it is a traumatic quest fr. Same with Chi of Yore, I procrastinated probably for more than a month and I was like im not doing it, but thankfully ended up getting it on my own💀

i saw this big blue/yellow ball (ley line), so i decided to interact with it. after i was done killing all the enemies, i saw this flower thing. i was scared what would happen if i interacted with it like it would spawn a boss or smth, so lost health for nothing 😅

For a long time I was absolutely terrified of ruin guards/hunters and refused to go anywhere near them. I knew that they weren't exactly hard enemies, but I was still scared. That fear has passed, since now I have ganyu and can just kill them from a mile away
Edit: so I started a bows only account, and the only bow characters I have are amber and fischl who do like 20 damage. yeah the fear is back.
ive defeated a whole lot of them but i still have a hidden fear to this day i and i dunno why, i once had a nightmare that included ruin guards

When I first started playing, I thought that seelies were anemoculuses that would run away from you.

Same. I literally told my friend “I’m just gonna build my character really tanky because there’s no point in going for damage when I can just out tank everything before I die” the character in question was ningguang💀
That archers can do normal attack as well. The first thing that popped up in my mind when I got Amber was how annoying it would be to just aim at the enemy while struggling to move around. That's exactly what I did until I saw a video of people playing Yoimiya. Absolutely stunned.

I remember letting my resin cap because I didn't know what to do with them. I started doing domains after I reached AR 45 then I started to realise how much time and resources I've wasted just by letting my resin cap... I had to waste resin to ascend my characters and other stuff because I didn't do it earlier. I didn't save fragile resins either... I also didn't know much about artifacts back then so most of mine weren't decent. :)
I also did the same thing but i saved fragile since i didn't know what they were or how to use

@@Purp1e_ Yee, it’s ok to play at your own pace. Since if you stress so much about it you’ll get burnt out (or just because of the grind and overflowing content) - then what? I feel like people never take a break which isn’t really healthy.
Personally I’ve been taking a break for a couple months now - I’m perfectly fine with skipping banners even if it’s a character I want. The character will be back eventually anyways even if it’s a long time waiting I’m ok with that.

Time is infinite in Genshin, Resin capped? It’s fine it’s only a few wasted resources you can get back the next week don’t overreact with the resin cap it’s not like the things are gonna disappear after a resin cap
My biggest regret when I first started playing Genshin is that I collected every single Oculus that I see on my way without knowing there was an interactive map that shows every single location of it. After that, I had to go back to the spots where I got the Oculus to check if I got it or not.
oh my god i feel this so hard, i actually used the interactive map for both the anemoculi and geoculi, but when inazuma was release, i went crazy with exploring and collected every electroculi i saw. now i collected 179 and i have no idea where the other two are.

@@nicia1460 It's okay bro, the resonance stone paired with the interactive map would do the job. I was getting crazy when I couldn't find the last geoculus at that time. I'm grateful that they actually thought of this predicament and made a way to help us🙏

This is all my daughter plays. She is a master at it. Never spent loads of money on it. But always gets what she wishes for. It’s nice for anyone to play such a nice calm game 😊
When I got Klee in her first banner, I started seeing tiny hands on my map, and I kept freaking out about it for the next 2 days. After reading her talents to see how she works, I realized that those are actually the Mondstadt-exclusive materials that are nearby. I physically did a facepalm when I found out about it.

I wish I knew you could accept and complete quests without the traveler in your party. I knew the active character would morph into the traveler when you interacted with certain NPCs, but I thought the traveler still needed to be part of the party for that to happen. Imagine my shock when I forgot Aether wasn’t part of my party and I was still able to complete a main storyline quest.

Another thing I wish I knew it's condensed resin. I didn't know about it until AR50 and that says a lot...
My regret was the way I spent primogems on wishes. Not knowing one character banner will come out beforehand, and spending it on previous 5 star.
My other regret is not knowing talents until a few weeks ago. And my third regret is condensed resin improper usage. And my fourth regret is the abyssal floor challenges.

@@danny8747 Thats fine honestly. I do that too. As long as you save your starglitter and you do a big hefty pull. You will have enough starglitter for both the intertwined and standard fate all the time. I get both cause I never seem to run out of it. Just when I'm about to run out, I have like 60+ wishes to do a giant pull to get them back. The biggest mistake was actually using stardust on wishes. I wasted so many on those wishes intertwined wishes when I could have just gotten the 4 star weapons since I barely have decent 4 star weapons for my 5 star characters. I'm not touching wishes on stardust anymore until I have like all the weapons
I wish someone explained the wishing system to me. I didn’t think I had a choice to wish or not, so whenever I had any wishes I would just use them instantly. I started playing on klees rerun and ended up getting her, I didn’t realize I had a 5 star until a few days later

When I ran out of resin, I used all my fragile resin. All of it. The next day…..
Another regret is that I actually used primo gems for resin,not knowing how important they are (if your f2p)
And my last regret…..

I have similar problems with you, but, fortunately, I knew about the interactive map.
But I will add that I spent my first primogemes on a regular banner, I didn't know their price then (so I lost the chance for Xiao :_)). and I was and still f2p…
And now that I've raised my adventure rank.. All bosses and monsters have become much more difficult for my average/weak squad :_)

I'd say my biggest regret in this game is spending actual money on 5* characters and weapons. Granted, I did get some measure of enjoyment from them, but now I have Childe with Polar Star, and Xiao with PJWS just collecting dust because I'm having even more fun with Traveler and his band of 4* characters (Diona, Yanfei, and Kaeya/Noelle/Fischl). 5* characters are so OP (most of them) and the game's difficulty becomes trivial once you get enough of them, especially the CEO of GEO.
Now I actually have to dodge things because Diona's shield is much flimsier than Zhongli's, and she can't heal as well as Jean or Kokomi do. Yanfei is strong, but she's no Yoimiya. Anemo-Traveler is decent, but he's not Xiao. Kaeya is good, but he's not Ayaka.
I play my 5* teams every now and then, but I find a whole lot more enjoyment with my 4* team, these days. They're just barely decent enough so player skill has to become a prevailing factor, or else you will get stomped on and laughed at.

It is important to understand the risk and reward and the process behind a gamble, The results of a gamble are uncertain however a gamble with a higher chance of success 📈 is a good choice
2)Know yourself, remain calm, be confident and show boldness
3)Know when to stop, if you feel that your efforts and time are being wasted then stop and minimise the damage try to recover
4)Gambling is not limited to money

I wish I knew being near a statue of seven would heal my characters to perfect health. When I first started playing I was under the misconception that food was the only way to revive and heal my characters and would be frustrated when I didn’t have the resources to do so.

At first I didn't know what wishing was, I thought you just got them after you met them like amber lisa and kaeya at the beginning. I didn't see how many primos I had after my first few months, but I do remember how many times I was able to do a ten pull and it was crazy
i always thought that whenever you would use a pyro character(Amber) in dragonspine then it would automatically warm them or
when you would bring a cryo character(Kaeya) that they'd be immune to the sheer cold

Tbh that should be how it works, was probably too hard to implement into the game, I doubt they hadn't thought about that tbh. They would have had to alter all pyro skills though to have the mechanic of reducing sheer cold so I understand why they didn't implement that.

A lot of my friends just skip dialogues, including the archon quests, and it really upsets me since they really are missing out on the lore. Everytime when I talk about the lore and stuffs they just go 'what?'. They are usually just there for the characters but thankfully, I was too invested on the lore so I didn't skip any dialogues :p still if you're a new player, dont rush to endgame since before you know it, your missing out and you will regret it, take your time and enjoy the game!!
honestly it really does upset me when people ignore the lore, especially when theyre the same people who complain about new areas, events or story quests taking forever to release, which is something i see a lot. but i definitely agree on never skipping dialogue!! when i first joined i skipped a bit of it, not all, i can remember everything quite well but i wish i took that extra bit of time to read more into it
I never understand when ppl skip main quest dialogue in any game….like sometimes I skip the audio when I’ve read the subtitles fully but I hate not knowing the story
I sometimes skip quests when they're boring, but I'd never skip an archon quest since it's really important lol
Well yeah. That is until you realize that most if not all of the events are tied to the story/archon quest.
Like the Spice from the west event, its tied to serenity pot which you'll get after Zhongli's archon quest.
Also new characters needing mats from storylocked areas.
We're only saying this because we're already veterans but new players don't get that privilege.
New players speedrun storyquests and get rewards much faster, primos,limited items(festering desire), interesting lore and storyline but miss out on lore.
But remember that storyquests stays there and you still get to experience it,the dialogues can be searched online. It's still the same experience (technically)
But for events it's not the same,you didn't get to play the minigames, storylines, it doesn't give you the same immersion even if you search the story on the internet because you never played it. Also missing out on limited rewards (I didn't get the festering desire, as a collector,that was my biggest regret)
I never skip dialogues with voice acting but I never bother with silent dialogues. I can't be asked to read a whole novel while playing.
Fortunately, now we have content creators who have provided us with tutorials.
Before I started Genshin, I watched Envi's starter tutorial where he explains about the basics such as Mora, EXP books, ascension system, and most importantly, Resin. I see many players don't know what Resin was and started their game without utilizing it at all.
Again, I had a good start because of those tutorials. I'm now AR53 with one solid team and another good enough team. I never feel necessary to hold off my world level ascension because I raised my characters properly where I focus on maxing 2 characters at most at a time.
I didn’t know how to light up campfires and when I clicked on it and it would say “you need pryo to light this up” I thought they were talking about a person 💀💀💀

4. You can have 2 or more characters of the same element on your team
5. Childe is hot
6. I should’ve played one update earlier because I would’ve gotten Hu Tao or Tartaglia
7. I should’ve kept playing after I got Eula because I could’ve gotten Raiden or Kokomi
8. Didn’t know charged attacks existed
9. Elemental bursts don’t take that long to regenerate, I would never use them for anything unless I was literally about to die
10. Not collect oculi, seelies, or the dragonspine stone thingies
11. Resin
12. World ascension. I couldn’t beat any bosses because I ascended my world before I was ready for it and I had to be carried in co-op in order to beat any bosses

I remember when I learned how artifacts work, honestly ar50 now and I still don't completely understand them, and how to build characters, but we're learning

I remember when I started playing, I never farmed artifacts and so I sticked with the basic sets you could win in the chests... So by mistake, I never read the details of what the artifacts did (such as healing bonus, crit rate..)... And so i put the traveling doctor set on Kaeya... Yes, I build a Kaeya healer
Well in your defense, there's no point in farming artifacts before AR45 and until then you can manage the overworld just fine, even with traveling doctor Kaeya LMAO

I didn’t knew about the teleportation point and i thought that the pyro character couldn’t swim, because i wanted to swim with amber but i have already used all my endurance and she just died 😂
I wish I actually went to Liyue first instead of trying to tank through Dragonspine. After finishing the Monstadt quests, Liyue was the next destination. The only problem was that it was several miles away and at the time, I didn't wanna walk that far because I thought the mobs would be stronger. So my dumbass took me to Dragonspine since I thought the mobs would be weaker since Dragonspine was closer the general area of Monstadt. Instead I suffered for about 3 hours trying to get to the Seven Statue at Dragonspine and I did not read about the fact that ice can only be broken after you hit the red rocks.
I just skipped the dragon spine quest. I was like nah, this is too hard for me. I’ll be back there when I’m more experienced.

One thing I definitely did wrong, was
*always buying the Acquaint fate* for my wishes. Yeah, i did mostly wish in the standard banner, but once I saw zhongli on the banner, I was like ‘oh damn I want him’ so I bought Acquainted fates for the wishes and realised that it didn’t work. Then I of course didn’t have primogems for wishes anymore. That was a really big mistake of mine.

I didn’t know how important artifact substats were, so now my main has defense on all her artifacts and I have to replace everything as a f2p.
I also got really confused the first day playing because I didn’t know you had to unlock statues of the seven to unlock the map, and I also didn’t know how to open the map so I wandered in lower Monstandt for a couple hours before finally finding a statue.
When I completed the Mondstat sorry quest and was gently nudged to go explore Liyue, I was adamant that the only way to get there was through the Dragonspine. I kept walking there, dying within like a minute, getting incredibly frustrated, healing and doing it all over again. It took me maybe 2 days until I gave up and decided to google it. I'm now AR 35 (I'm hoarding experience tbh, so I should probably be AR 40 at this point), starting to explore Inazuma and I still haven't set foot on Dragonspine. Never again.

It took me until AR 55 to realize the statues of the seven can heal you. For some reason 90% of the time when I approach a statue it doesn't heal me right away so I never noticed lmao
You do have to go to the statue and stand there for a moment in order for it to heal you. Also, make sure you have it at 100% healing so it'll restore 100% of all of your characters' HP.
I wish I knew about Kaeya being available in the shop twice/year. I also didn't know about talents and getting better artifacts. So my poor characters were taking a thrashing for the longest time. Thank goodness for ascension and constellations.

I remember thinking dandelions were unobtainable and then I got Sucrose. I used her normal attack to see what it was (I was curious cuz I always had co op effects off) I happened to be in front of mondstat's gates and then I hit a dandelion (I was also looking for dandelions) and I felt stupid once I found out. I think I was around ar 30+ at that time

instead of wasting primogems in the standard banner try getting some acquaint fates by levelling up your characters, it's a waste of mora and resources but it's a chance for you to build them and less chance for people to fight you in match because of low levelled or bad builds. Plus free pulls so :)
This wasn't even a guide and this help me more as a new player then any guide i've seen so far! no information overload just do's and don'ts.
The reason diluc was s tier is because of his high base attack. early game when most didn't know builds and reaction and all your characters are level 15 his high attack did decent damage with a bad build and a one star weapon at level one( or ten cuz that was me). His game play isn't complex and is easy to play and understand. Diluc is definitely one of the best early game characters. As the game went on his high attack got overtaken by ganyu and others but still would def recommend diluc for early game. C Bennett wack tho, he carried me

I'm AR37 and I main Diluc, although I do Ayato but we all know Ayato needs to be built good to be good. Unlike Diluc which had 1k+ attack without being built properly. I still run him with debate club and he does 1-2k+ damage, I definitely recommend him honestly

One of my friends deleted the game on the third day as he didn't know waypoints existed. He ran all the way around mondstat for the quests. He rage quit the game. I laughed so hard when I heard this.

I used to think that lisa was the best character in the game. I refused to use any other characters, just lisa. Even fighting electro enemies, I'd still just use lisa. Eventually I realised elemental reactions were actually good so I started using other characters with her
Honestly my xiangling + Lisa combo is a powerhouse bc my Lisa's artifact build elemental mastery is insane.

To be honest Lisa wasn't my favorite, once I realized for a puzzle that you needed electro for but I didn't have Lisa yet so I thought it was anemo, but after I used Lisa for that I got her out of my party because it was hard to use her normal attacks.

When I first started playing and I learned about hilichurls, I thought that the more we played the game eventually all the hilichuls would be dead. Also, I never lvled my characters higher than 20 because I thought I couldn’t I always thought my AR was too low.

Yes but base Atk only means atk from the weapon combined with Bennets atk WITHOUT artifacts. So only the weapon and Bennets character level matter here

I have no memories from early game, I remember playing the event where Scaramouche debuted but I didn’t get my 1st 5* till February, I have no clue what my primos were spent on. Biggest regret is probably not knowing how events worked, I didn’t realize they would go away even if you didn’t finish them so I just left it. I could have 2 seelies rn.
I started during windblume fes, and till this day i wasnt sure whether that quest i did was an archon quest or an event quest cause i did the event quest in the middle of an archon quest(ar requirement lock)
That said, i was quite late in joining the game so many of my friends were like ar 45-50 that time so they carried me throughtout dragonspine and most of the events

I thought I was good enough to fight the electric transforming boss things. Maaaaaaan they whooped my #$$ every time. I finally came back to the game after giving up in 2020 a month after it came out and I finally beat the one in the first ascension quest for the world level. When I saw that I had less than 10 minutes to beat it I had to go and redo my whole team and way of playing to be more aggressive and less passive.
I never knew how to "fly" and whenever I had to get down from a high point to a lower point (the mountains), I always "sacrificed" a character. I was so dumbfounded when I finally figured out how to fly which was around AR20.
I also didn't know how artifacts worked until AR45 and that killed me... I matched the artifact//weapon with the colour/aesthetic of the character.
Lmao that must have been a rough having to kill a character just to get down 🤣

My two biggest regrets
1 immediately doing AR ascension quests I ended up with a world lvl too high for characters to handle and turned every enemy into a ridiculous damage sponge that took 5 or more minutes to beat
2 trying to lvl up ALL my characters and weapons at the same time I was perpetually grinding and of course this made regret 1 even worse cause I was building up adventure xp which led to me increasing my world lvl and needing even more grinding

I started Genshin February 2021 and it took me months before noticed these things:
- you can put artefacts and up them
- reading skills description is usefull to know wich artefacts and weapon to use
- you can eat while fighting
- you can use increasing attack/defence dishes (I thought it was only when you are on multi) *cough*
- whoever you use in your team, even if it's a full support team (hello there🖐️) just enjoy !

In my early AR days, I used to think that the whole map except Monstadt would stay black forever. My map looked like a pitch-black hole with scattered luminous white triangles (the unlocked teleport waypoints) throughout the abyss. It was funny and confusing when I discovered I could touch the Statues to light up the map.
I didn't know the Statue of Seven can revive characters and heal them until 3 months later,and I also thought commissions were annoying because they were getting in the way when I was doing quests(I didn't know what primos were for and didnt know you can get primos from commissions)
I never knew that elemental dmg bonus goblets were literally the rarest artifact to get. I got a cryo dmg bonus goblet that was also a blizzard strayer piece with decent crit value, and I just tossed it into some random crit dmg headpiece that i thought was gonna be good. My ayaka is now struggling to do 10k. I've learned from my mistakes and I hope you do too.

I wish I knew about the genshin interactive map when I started. Especially with farming the oculus', I had to later go around the map again to find the last oculus and so on, when I could've just used the interactive map and marked them off one by one. Such a pain.
is the interactive map is the small circle map that shows little stars whenever there's a seelie and oculus around the area you're at??

Ah. There’s actually a device that helps you a ton when finding the last oculi. If you reach a particular reputation in both liyue and mondstadt. You can craft them and they mark a spot on the map which tells, like- where the oculi is. It saved me HOURS!

I just remembered that I used to only equip artifact’s that looked good on the character for example for kaeya I’d give him all the blue things that looked like ice or red for amber I didn’t even know what stats were I thought they were for decoration

That you had to wish to get new characters, I didn’t know what the artifact stats meant so I used to just put random artifacts on characters, that all I had to do was unlock the statues to get to the other areas, and I didn’t know what primos were used for, didn’t know what resin was either so I accidentally spent primos on that resin thing even tho I didn’t know what resin was used on so it was quite useless
For a YEAR I didn’t know you could upgrade artifacts, and then my inventory got full and I deleted like 1700 of them💀
AND THE WORST PART IS, that literally 3 hours later, my friend and I were playing, and she was giving me instuctions on how to max out your characters to deal more damage, and I was like: “You can upgrade artifacts? I literally spent an HOUR deleting hundreds of those, when I could’ve used them?!?”
She wanted to beat me at that moment.😭

when I first started playing, anytime a character died or got on life support, I'd level them up because it would get them to max hp and I didn't know about food or the statues of the seven. I even searched "how to heal characters on genshin" because I had to ascend them and I didn't have the materials, meaning I couldn't heal them lol (from my perspective at the time).
