    I think “Revival” is the ultimate ABB harmony. It is complex and unpredictable which really makes the listener say “Wow”

    • @CharleySuede
      @CharleySuede Před 3 měsíci

      “Revival” is exactly how I found this video! I kept hearing it over the last week and it dawned on me that I’d never learned how it’s played, nor how they constructed their harmonies.

      @@StichMethodGuitar yes I did! I thoroughly enjoy deep dives into Duane & Dickey. Duane is my favorite guitarist and so I guess by default, that makes Dickey my 2nd favorite. 😎 Looking forward to watching some of your other vids, too.
      Next time, I really should pull my guitar out. I just came across this while browsing so I gave it a go and was thoroughly impressed. So I'll definitely need to, watch it again. A few times lol. Thank you!
      Thanks to my dad, Duane & ABB's biggest fan, I even share middle names with Howard Duane Allman and I couldn't be prouder of that fact. I guess you could say ABB has been a big part of my life...really since the day I was born. I was raised on their music. Got a healthy dose daily for many years lol.

    The Allman Brothers Band is just IT for me. The'res nothing like the harmonies that Duane and Dicky played in those sweet few precious years so many thanks for breaking it down. Please consider always circling back with the Brothers material. Great stuff Stich ! Peace ~

    • @mickeymcconnell7961
      @mickeymcconnell7961 Před 5 lety +2

      I couldn't agree more! Duane and Dickey pioneered that shit! First rock band to have two lead guitar players and two drummers. A lot of people don't understand what an impact they had on music. I listened to Fillmore East for months on end and was always amazed, still am. But actually watching the video now on CZcams just blows me away a little more. They had some outstanding pickers to stand up there with Dickey, but there will NEVER be another Duane.
      Eat a peach for peace, brother!

    I have always thought that the "Allman Harmony" was a strict, major key, mathematical thing but I never would have figured out what the harmony notes were. Thanks for the insight and sharing. I have no idea where the 10 "dislikes" could have come from. This is exceptional - thanks again.

    because these two often collide when you don't pay attention all the time.
    So this is a great way to feel free while playing and to be sure you don''t mess up! :):)

    When I began to learn in earnest in November 2015 I said like ‘I wanna learn how to play guitar so I can play good enough to sit on my porch when I retire and play Allman Brothers Band music. So far I’ve barely been able to play their Stormy Monday and One Way Out covers and Blue Sky. Stich’s lesson here is gonna exponentially allow me to ride my paradigm-shift-wave so that I can get a better ‘foothold on the beach! Thank you very much Stich for your lessons being so complete in details and at the same time you making your lessons easily ‘palatable!

    This is brilliant. Over 50 years playsing, AB, LS, MH, Outlaws. I'm from Jacksonville / West side. Leonard Skinner was coach in my high school. I know and play most of these songs. I figured out Blue Sky on a reel to reel by slowing the tape down from 7.5 to 3 3/4 back in the mid 70s. I am going to fire up the studio and work on this until I have ingrained in my head. It's one thing to play it but to understand what is happening from a theory perspective is huge. Attitudes are contagious and you, sir, rock !

It kind of confirms the "tone is in the hands" saying. and whatever amp you are using. I think that is one of the first components of tone. I promise I am not a cork sniffer! Just an observation bc honestly I haven't visited your page in almost year and i thought to myself "that guitar sounds just like the green prs guitar" which btw, you taugt me a whole lot of music theory on....
