      It is sad. I met Eric and Graham for a long interview in 1981 where Eric was articulate and very gracious with his time. We bonded over such nuances as which microphone he used to record his Levi zipper on 'Iceberg' but I think the loss of Godley & Creme and the fact that he is somewhat of a recluse today whereas Graham is still touring, points to the fact that perhaps Eric never really recovered fully from that dreadful car accident he suffered in the late 70s.

    I had Deceptive Bends back in the day and loved this track, but man do they kill it live! It’s the second live video I’ve seen of this on CZcams and they just get better. Probably the most underrated band of the 70’s but always one of my favourites. Amazing talent in the original line up.

    During college, I was hired by a concert promotor to help them work as a roadie. And this actual 10cc tour in Japan was my first job. I had to work to have my rent and bills get paid, and roadie was pretty good money. Hard work but you could enjoy music and 10cc with this many support players was awesome. Every show was nearly a good two hours. Sometimes longer. That was in 1977. I remember the awesome bass solo. They were all nice guys and we had fun.

    I don’t think I could ever get tired of watching Eric play that guitar solo at the end. It’s a real shame he’s hasn’t gotten more recognition as a guitar player! You don’t see many performers that seem so enthusiastic when they play. I’m sure I respond to the fact that I think he’s adorable but I think there’s more to it than that.

    About Eric's Fender. He used the black one a long time since his favourite one was stolen during 1977 tour in the UK. Also Grahams original Rickenbacker was stolen. As Graham once told me they where very upset about this.

    "Anybody know about Eric's black Les Paul?" When I interviewed Eric and Graham in Newcastle, Australia for an FM Radio documentary on 10cc, (about 1981) Eric told me that his Gibson 'Les Paul' is was a 1958 special. He went on to say that his favourite guitar amplifier was a Marshall 50 watt Valve or 'tube' model with everything turned right up. He said that Guitar/amp combo was truly magical and delivered the Classic Brit Rock sound with an almost infinite sustain.

What can you say about 'Feel the Benefit' ?.....brilliant, brilliant BRILLIANT....wish someone would download the whole concert in one. Come on Eric...get your head out from under that classic car, phone Graham and get together for a jam...you never know, you may like it!!

    this is a great version of a beautiful and moving song
    at 11:50 the happiness and spirit of the song really comes out.
    when i heard the bass solo here the first time I wondered why they didn't include it on the album.
    the musicality of the playing of all the members is wonderful.
    BRAVO to 10cc and their quirky genius!

      @michavandam Před 6 lety +1

      Maybe there was not enough space on the original vinyl album for an even longer version of Feel the Benefit with a bass solo.
      Anyway, l i v e they needed a bridge, so that Eric Stewart had the time to pick up his guitar. So they inserted a bass solo. Probably Graham Gouldman jumped to the opportunity. He never got to do solo's in 10cc. Bass solos are very rare in pop music anyway.

  • @GlennHallLivingWater

Saw them live back in 73 ,and recently saw the [ GG ,Rick Fenn ,Paul Burgess etc] in Cardiff St Davids hall ,i have seen GGs 10cc 6 times in the last few years ,and they are still outstanding ,and was lucky enough to see the original line up also 6 times ,such a shame no reunion concert
