Arnold and Jamie Lee Curtis actually did that crazy ass stunt with Arnold holding the runner of the helicopter and he was really holding Jamie as they flew away. The jet is a AV-8B Harrier II, also called the Harrier jump jet. First developed by England, and later produced by McDonald Douglas (now Boeing). The Marines used them for close air support and forward operations bases, because of their ability to take off and land without a runway. Hi, but that story isn't true, although it's often spread.
Jamie Lee Curtis rehearsed the bedroom dance with James Cameron to get it right. She slipped and fell and they both agreed it would be funny to have her do that in the scene. They didn't tell Arnold, so his reaction was real. They tried a take 2, but Arnold's reaction wasn't as good, so they went with the first take.
I think the reason people are confused about it is because she slips for real during the tango at the end. It gets conflated with the earlier dance.

I like how the characters in this movie are quite "normal" people who are not just some caricatures. Like how the battery died from the camera during his big speech and how the Eliza Dushkus (the girl) took the key when she took off etc. And how Jamie Lee Curtis' character didn't want to cheat on her husband by knocking Arnold down with the telephone etc. And it was a very nice tongue in cheek style action movie on top of that all. Almost a parody at times too. This is a very entertaining movie with a really solid cast. Really good work from top to bottom.

The girl who plays Arnold & Jamie Lee's daughter is Eliza Dushku. She was the 3rd Vampire Slayer when Buffy was drowned, then the next Slayer died (Buffy was saved btw) and was well known as Faith. She also had her own show called "Dollhouse". The guy in the van is Tom Arnold. He's famous for marrying Roseanne Barr during the height of her fame. The fake spy, Simon, is Bill Paxton (RIP) and he's done all these character acting roles. Ya'll should watch "Twister," "Tombstone," "Aliens," but I recommend "Frailty".

I've said it before, and I'll say it again, your reactions are becoming my favorite! This movie was crazy! I just wish you included the uzi falling down the stairs shot; I'd've loved to see your reaction to that bit. I actually saw this in a drive-in theater (yes, I'm that old) when I was, like, 14. We went to a triple feature, this, Airheads and another one that I can't remember, because I think we left before the third movie.

When Jaimie Lee is dancing and misses the bed pole and falls, that was a mistake. Arnold jumping forward was to see if she was okay, but Jaime Lee just popped back up and continued with the scene and so did Arnold. It was funny as hell and she was okay so James Cameron just left the fall in.

Speaking of the U.S. Marine Corps AV-8B Harrier Jump Jet featured in the movie, I remember when Pepsi ran a superbowl commercial contest where the contest was to buy Pepsi and collect Pepsi points so you could purchase hats, shirts, sun glasses, and if you collected 7,000,000 Pepsi points you could get the Harrier Jump Jet. Some 21 year old figured out how much it would cost and got some wealthy contributors to loan him the money to get enough points. He collected enough points, wrote a check for the rest of them and sent them in to collect his jet. They wouldn't give him the jet. They went to court and the 21yr. old lost and Pepsi updated their contest to up the number of points from 7 million to 700 million points.

It was filmed at the Rosecliff Mansion in Newport RI. James Cameron was the director and directed Teminator 1 & 2; Titanic; Avatar, Aliens and a lot more. It was funny you said it seemed like Terminator; yup, you were right; the same great director. May I suggest a different style of movie for a change of pace, "Sling Blade" directed and acted by none other than Billy Bob Thorton.
