What me too i had them red 1200w xplods and them mfs use to slap
To get lots of smoke you need to warm the sub up by playing it loud for a bit
i tend to put them on a variac, and slowly crank the voltage till it smokes, and it tends to go insane!

If he was smart he would just repair them and have better speakers from the outcome
try half power and eq it for low only than work to 3/4 power let it warm up show off the no distortion flex than max it so it blows right away see what happens ;)
I actually ran a single Sony 12 a couple years back. It took some abuse. I was impressed.
No wonder, it's easier to blow sub if full frequency range sound is played. It heats/burns up much faster.

To be fair when you did the jvc clamping it to the table like that made it so it wouldn't push air through the coil so it may have went faster because of that.
Well the cone was still able to move so air could still come in.

You can recone every speaker you blew in this video. You can buy spare cones with attached voice coil from the companies who sell these subwoofers.

i have an older model of that sony xplode for about 15 year or more in a 4 th order band pass with a 1000w amp still running granted 1000w on 1 ohm

Try the same with normal car speakers i blew a voice coil on some alpines very easily yet a cheap set of boss sound survived
I see what you were talking about twirls the end that the battery died in your camera while you were going to tear apart the cadence and the JVC subwoofer and you didn’t realize
I have a 3000 watt subwoofer 1500 watts in each and I pushed it too hard and all sound stopped but then I took it to see what the problem was it was just a few blown fuses in the amp I got them replaced and now the sub distorts on the same song at same volume whereas before it didn’t I’m not too educated I’m car audio hoping to get some answers.

I once gave 2 3x the power and they performed well and lasted the period of me owning them. I built a 3.2 cuft box, 1.6 cuft per sub they shook everything without smelling
I eventually pawned them and lost them. I went back to buy them but someone purchased them

Yeah they're pretty under rated in my opinion. Want to find a couple 12s and throw them in a high quality custom box and see if they can get down, I've only heard Xplods in prefab boxes

Could totally be. The Cadence sub produces a lot of pressure and so everything that is soft enough will move with this pressure and so does the jvc sub
Might be, kind of like when you see the door speakers moving from the pressure of the subs in a big SPL build

on an amp thats 500wrms 1200peak shure it gets hot but i play it for an hour or so shure it bottems out

I used to have a red version of the Sony xplod
I actually have a red one, its an 8 inch 200 watt rms 300 w peak, i managed to put about 900 watts through it at 4 ohms without it blowing or even heating up, the sony subs usually take waaaay more then the rated power (I have the Sony Xplod XS-AW200X)
