- Space Jam 1996 mashed together two of the 90's biggest phenomenons, the Looney Tunes and NBA Chicago Bulls Basketball Slam Drunk After Doing A Big Jump Michael Jordan. This time he faces his greatest challenge yet, acting against a green screen whilst having pretend he's playing basketball with Bugs Bunny against the Monstars so they don't end up on the moon or something. All in all it''s aged weirdly and we didn't like it. Thanks for supporting our Caravan Of Garbage reviews.

Back in Action is actually pretty fun. Has a very Austin Powers vibe with its physical comedy and quips.
I really like Back in Action, even if some of the jokes aren’t complete zingers. I know Looney Tunes purists deplore it and this movie. I think they are both a lot of fun.
Right? I actually think it holds up at least slightly better than Space Jam. Maybe that’s my nostalgia for it and Brendan Fraiser talking.
It helps that Brendan Fraser is a really likable and charismatic actor that keeps the movie together, while Michael Jordan is very obviously an athlete doing his first movie. Plus, Daffy is way better in Back in Action than in Space Jam.
Daffy a just kinda there in Space Jam, he barely gets any play and mostly just acts whacky, he’s much better and in full egotistical loon mode in BIA
@@munromister777 Daffy is pretty much the protagonist of Back in Action, which honestly is how they should handle all Looney Tunes properties that are longer than 11 minutes. He's the only member of the cast with enough depth and range to have a recognizable character arc. Even Bugs, great though he is, only really works when he's one-step ahead of everyone and constantly winning... which is something else that Back in Action gets right that Space Jam gets wrong.

Just to confirm, Tony Hawk is quite a nice man. He had to wait to get a table in a place I managed, and never played the 'Tony Hawk' card. Kudos. I lacked his zen vibe, so whenever anyone complained about a wait time, I'd be like "Tony Hawk waited for frikkin table, you can too"
I don't know how every video on this channel can be so consistently funny. It doesn't matter who edits these videos, they are both brilliant in their own ways, but they always add extra flare that never fails to make me laugh.
This movie has nostalgia armor for me. My younger brother and I watched it literally every single day in the summer of 1997
It just has childhood armour for me, I wasn’t even into Basketball or Michael Jordan but I loved it.

I hadn't watched it since I was a kid and decided to put it on for my children thinking they are going to LOVE this. They did not. They might as well have said to me 'mum this is actually shit, the 90s must have been awful for you' instead they just looked at me with pity.

Back in Action is a vastly superior movie to Space Jam. I enjoy the central conflict of that movie being that Daffy feels like he's been screwed over by being constantly written as the foil for Bugs.
Looney Tunes Back In Action is a better movie than Space Jam, but it's still a bad movie. And I say this as a HUGE Joe Dante fan.

The biggest sin of the new movie existing is that they changed the original space jam website which had stayed the same since 1995.
That’s should be classed a desecration of a historical site.

For real! There are some bits of Back in Action that my sister and I still quote to this day. Nostalgia definitely had a lot to do with it, but it's definitely a fun movie.

Back in Action was my Space Jam. I saw it first and by the time I saw Space Jam I was just kind like whatever, also wasn't big into basketball or anything, so MJ being in it didn't do much for me

I rewatched Back In Action recently and I have to agree it's the better than Space Jam

This came out when I was 6 years old living near Chicago. It just so happens that at the time I loved The Bulls, Bill Murray, and the Looney Toons, this will always be fondly remembered
Gene Siskel & Roger Ebert really liked this movie. Which might be seen as Chicago bias, but they also disliked Rodman's late 90s flicks.
I loved this movie as a kid and watched it again over the first quarantine and still loved it . That soundtrack is iconic

Remember going to watch Space Jam at the movies when I was a kid. Saw it in a big fancy Warner Bros themed cinema in London’s west end. The movie theatre experience was awesome and had huge impact on me. As an adult I work for a cinema chain in the UK and I absolutely love it. Cannot remember a thing that happens in this movie.
I was crazy for the Mask when it came out. I bought all the comics and watched the (lousy) cartoon. Jim Carrey is electric in it. Cameron Diaz took my breath away. Peter Greene is brings menace and sleeziness to Dorian. It’s pretty stylish and absolutely makes the most of what I imagine would have been a modest budget. Loved it. The catchphrases are pretty tired now but I still like it a great deal. I’d be excited for a new mask movie. It’s a great concept- the comic is fantastic.
James knows why Lola Bunny is our favorite character but he's too much of a coward to call us out.

I've got nothing but fond memories of Space Jam, and much like with many kids, this movie kickstarted my love of basketball.
My grandma sparked my love of basketball. This movie sparked my love of Lola Bunny
This video wasn't a dream, it really happened.
This movie holds a fond* place in my heart. I was invited to see it by the group of kids at school i thought hated me (to be honest i didn't have any friends so i thought most hated me) one weekend, but it was in a place i'd not been before (an hour bus ride away and somewhere too far for me to travel to alone by my parents) but i was so desperate for friends i told my parents i was going local and went anyway. We saw the film and had a good time, until we got to a games store and we took turns to try out the new Playstation. I had to go last, which was fine, but within a minute of starting i turned around to find they had gone. Basically the long and the short of it was the kids were trying to get my lost in the hopes i'd go missing, and it was a big laugh for the school the following Monday (i got home fine, but as a 12 year old miles from home with no idea where the bus was or which one i needed and no phone...yeah it wasn't great)
...oh and by fond i mean emotionally scarring. Fuck this movie, mainly because of those kids!

I feel like this was my first movie that I realized movies could be bad. Godzilla was a bigger disappointment bc I was a bigger Godzilla fan, but this was the first, and man did it suck. I never watched it again, and you rewatch everything as a kid. This video is one thousand times better than the movie.

•2:55 Bugs is an Elder God and has grown tired of being the ender of conflicts. He wishes to be on equal terms with his kin for the first time in eons. But realizes his mistake when a threat to his power arrives from the reaches of space.

•3:02 Bugs is a fan of Bill Murray, but requires bait to lure one of Earthrealm’s greatest to the Hollowed Hallow of Toon Town.
•14:33 the paper clip is an inhibitor. Without it, MJ goes Ultra Instinct and utilizes 100% of The Toon Force to win any Sportsball game.
Oh my goodness, I feel robbed that I'll never get to see Tony Hawk and the Looney Tunes at the X-Games. It would have been fantastic!

While the movie was bad, it gave us:

* The Space Jam theme and the subsequent mash-ups.
* Barkley Shut Up and Jam!
* Neo Michael Jordan: THE INFINITY SLAYER
So yeah, definitely worth it.

I loved this movie so much as a kid. And it made me want to play Basketball. Didn't play it for long. But it was my favorite sport back then. And the last time I rewatched it, I still liked it a lot. So I guess I don't get the hate? (Although I have to add one thing, I watched this dubbed into German back in the day. So, I could not say if Jordan might be a bad actor, because his german voice actor is great)
I can't help but say that I'm still a big fan of Space Jam. I was like 8 when that came out and everyone loved Michael Jordan, and at the time I knew who he was but didn't much care about basketball. I just loved the Looney Tunes, they were some of my favorite characters as a kid. I also remember Back in Action coming out and I liked it, but apparently no one else did, I didn't watch that until much much later though like into my late teens. Still a Looney Tunes fan.
i’ll admit some of my favourite CoG is when James fares deeply and Maso cares so very little about
Listen,KIDs! Back when the "Space Jam" was released, the life of me and my colleagues was built around Michael Jordan, religious watching of NBA games and "NBA Action" tv show, streetballing on our self-made courts, tournaments between different crews, and the fact if you could do "the backpack" slam dunk wearing new Nike gear,you were automatically a part of the local elite.
Not to mention, that playing Quad City DJs "Space Jam" on your blinged BoomBox, instantly boosted the players Energy Level to 300% despite all-day session.
