24:32 is the scariest moment for me personally. He did everything right, but the wave's guts just went mutant on him and great warble inexplicably flipped his board fins upward right under him in a very dangerous place, at a very dangerous speed. Poor dude. Respect and commiseration.

It's good you show the rescues. A lot of people don't realize what can happen, and go to these places on vacation. I had some idiot ditch his board in front of me on a double overhead barrel, and I got tacoed backwards. I was out of the water for months. And that was in the 90s. I don't want to think about what would happen now. But this is one of the best Puerto movies I've seen.

I grew up surfing in Hawai'i. Never seen a break like this, that can be so beautiful and ridable one time and thoroughly gnarly and unforgiving in the next moment.

When I first began surfing in Mexico, there were NO Mexican surfers. We used to leave spare boards with peeps we met. Now there are literally thousands of RIPPERS down there. GOOD ON `EM.
