@UC1YCNDiOwUCa3aets3C1Vcg he turned up in plenty of big games - just because his brilliant performances in the CL vs Man Utd 2nd leg, Lyon 2nd leg and Liverpool 1st leg didn't matter in the end doesn't mean they weren't big games. He played very well in the Copa del Rey final and nearly singlehandedly got Barca back in it. Yes he had a poor Copa but the Brazil game was probably his and Argentina's best game, they were pretty unlucky with a few ref calls that night. People in England write off la Liga but the game to win the title vs Atletico was another standout. Van Dijk is class but Messi has still been playing a different game to everyone else

it's bizarre to watch every sports news channel having love relationships with certain teams, where other team is also in exact situation. Sky always say Marcus is only 21 and is tired of playing every game and has big responsibilities on his shoulder. Therefore it's not his fault that he's not playing good in games, while Tammy Abraham is also in exact situation, But seems doing all good. He's starting every game, scoring goals, only 22 years old and has LESS premier league experience than Marcus. So it means Marcus is not good enough. Also, it seems nobody is talkin about Chelsea's youngsters and how well they are doing. There's reason why they are in top4, but Arsenal and ManU youngsters are still better than Chelsea and worth to talk about. Look at Tammy, Mason and Hudson-odoi. Playing every games and doing great and getting results for the team. But NO. Chelsea is not worth to talk about. Also nobody talks about Frank Lampard. What are his training methods or how he's organising players, not even how well he's done his job is so far. Everyday Pocetino and Ole. Two managers yet to accomplish anything in their long managerial career. It's real SAD.

Can't get enough of the Egyptian King any day of the week... Its the way he plays the beautiful game that stands out for me and Yess folks he's probably the closest thing in world football to Messi and despite being a little behind Messi which is not a problem at all because Mo Salah is also the closest thing to a non striker that scores that many goals and well distributed throughout the season which makes him the more and more effective in as many games as possible... Last but not least Salah over two seasons is the player with the highest assist to goal ratio which soooo many people bypass in favour of the new Ultra Bias hashtag that suggest Mo is selfish and a whole song and dance about it and now that he is passing every single ball he gets nowadays over the last 5 games hope this has satisfied the extremest camp that are trying ever so hard to dis him and bring him down mentally and if not then why not cut off his massive global fan base into halfs and try and make him the villan since he's so good outside and inside the pitch morally speaking then why not suggest any negatives to his game and go along with it like a song and dance in favour of others in attack! Just know one thing for a fact folks and that you could easily check out online as a general stat, The entire Liverpool attack looked different since Mo joined affecting not only games but the mentality of the player around him especially in attack Bobby and Mane whom both numbers prior to Mo joining Liverpool were mediocre at very best and nowhere near the new standards that Mo Salah has set to everyone inside Liverpool expectation wise from our attack and full respect to Mane and Bobby they've raised their game immensely and numbers easily show before him joining and after... So it is Mo Salah plus VVD are the two most valuable players in Liverpool and numbers never lie let alone the sublime football each of them play and in such commanding level that it truly inspires all those around them..

You can only be as good as you are in your positon. In my opinion the best goalkeeper, the best defender, the best midfielder and the best forward should be nominated and then pick the winner out of those.
Van Dijk is performing at a level for a centre back I've never seen before. The way he defends is impressive and it looks easy to him most of the time. The fact that he's even being considered for this as a defender says a lot. Just like Messi is a brilliant forward in his way, but is he as good as he was previous seasons? I'm not sure, but he's still the best.

Bradley Corl Otamendi vs Jimenez is the prime example why defenders shouldn’t just lunge in. But when Virgil is at a opportunity to tackle someone he gets it done. He’s only backed off on one player and that was Messi every other he’s sorting them out

That’s a lame excuse. One goal and Barca go to the final. However, Messi still deserves to win. I don’t blame him for Dembele’s poor finishing in the first leg.

Personally I think individuals awards are dumb. It favors goal scorers too much. A team need a goal scorer, like they need a creative midfielder, holding midfielder, defenders, GK, etc.

Messi end of. Before him and Ronaldo came along a striker scoring 20 - 25 goals and 5 or so assists was considered to be top top class and the two of them have blown that out of the water for the last 10 or so years. They've set the bar so high they're victims of their own success. eg modric winning last year

Just make a ballon D'or for every position. Therefore Messi would win best forward, De Bruyne would win best midfielder, Van Dijk would win best defender and Alisson/oblak/ Ederson would win best goalkeeper. Simple as that.
