- WARNING: This is not one of my usual videos of me sitting in front of the camera and talking. This is a 5 minute "micro documentary" celebrating twenty-five years of Merzbow's harsh noise masterpiece, Venereology.

Nice superimposition @3:14-3:15
Good vid, I always thought this album was his most interesting
Love this album, Ananga-Ranga has to be one of the greatest noise soundscapes I ever heard
recently i saw a "release" shirt on the relapse shirt.
Noticed those as well
Thanks for the vid. It has some interesting footage and sound. Oodles of Brutals? Ha ha!
Nice video!
Another nice touch Masami did on this release was add a big thank you list, like on most death metal albums. He never did that before or since.
quick fyi: merzbow is a respelling of merzbau, a german art piece. it rhymes with cow
Yeah, I’ve always pronounced it how it is in the video, even though I know better... it’s because I’m from the Midwest and we can’t pronounce anything properly.
@@OODLESOFBRUTALS it's an understandable mistake. just giving you a heads up
I've known that Moog was pronounced "mogue" for about 15 years and still say... Moog. And the same thing is true for Merzbow. If people know what you're talking about (since there is no other word that sounds like Merzbow)... then who gives a shit? I doubt Masami would.
@@t.n.3819 well someone would be offended probably
❤❤❤❤
Cool
Merzbow is an absolute mad lad.
I don't understand
By what definition can Merzbow be classified as music? I listened to 17 minutes of the first "song" and uh, no fucking way in any hell is this music.
Think of music as a frame of mind in which you process auditory information rather than the stimulus itself. This makes it so that anything can be music, which means Merzbow's work is also music.
@@andreasvandieaarde I reject that framing, so no, this is not music. Music is structured and coherent.
loud noise is fun ;)
whether a sound is "music" is determined by the intent of the creator, not by what it sounds like.
