    Marin keeps the hits coming. Loving my 2022 and love that colorway for 2023. If anyone is on the fence jump off of it and hop on a Riftzone either the 2022 or 2023 you will not be disappointed!!

    Another thing I love about this bike was being able to slam a 200mm dropper all the way in the seat tube. Fully extended with the post at full insertion it is perfect for me. Loooove it

    Great review. I am currently riding my 2005 Giant Reign 2 that I had custom built new back in 2006. I have had Marin bikes before many years ago (Nail Trail & East Peak) and really looking at the Rift Zone 2.

    I haven’t ridden in like 10 years, life things forced me to stop, but while I am recovering from a work related injury I ordered this exact bike. I can’t get on the trails yet but I’ve been tinkering with it, customizing and changing things, and able to do some low impact street riding. I love it! Can’t wait to be able to get on the trails.
    Hoping you do a riding/trail review on how it handles soon!

    FYI Polygon owns Marin and manufactures the bikes in Indonesia. I own a 2021 Polagon Siskiu T8 and I bought a 2022 Riftzone 2 for my daughter. The quality of the Marin is great but Im really disappointed with the fact that I can’t get her dropper all the way in the frame. She is only 5,1 so having a dropper all the way in would make the bike way better for her to get on and off especially on the trail. The new frame looks like you can get a 120 or 150 dropper all the way down. I wish I got her a T8 like mine or waited a couple months for the new version of the rift zone, I knew it was coming out. Can you push the seat post all the way down on both frames and measure the difference? It would be helpful for people to compare and factor it in as the old one is still being sold discounted.

      Frame design does play into how much of a seat post you can fit for sure. Polygon and Marin are owned by the same main company. They do run as separate companies. They each have independent design authority. So one should not in theory influence each other directly.

    Hey, I just want to ask does the Xfusion fork that comes with the newest Marin is good in small bump sensitivity like the Rockshox recon?

    • @RunBikeMike
      @RunBikeMike  Před měsícem

      I feel like it is. It feels a little lighter than the recon also.

    Would you recommend a medium size for a 15 year old who is 5’7

      Yes that should be a good size. But you might check the top of the chart for a small also

    • @RunBikeMike
      @RunBikeMike  Před rokem +1

      I understand where you are coming from but in the world of name brand full suspension mountain bikes sub $2k is considered budget. I wish that wasn't the case but sadly it is.

    • @saddiqjeelani563
      @saddiqjeelani563 Před rokem +1

      @@RunBikeMike Thanks for the response. I picked up the Rift Zone 1 for myself and thought it was funny that a 1.7k bike could be considered budget. But seeing the prices of pretty much any other full suspension bike, I can see that mine is a lot of value for the money comparing, it to other full-suspension ones out on the market.

      @@randomkid9076 It's a very durable bike, I'm a fan. Likely the best bang for the buck, as all competitors in the same advanced range are going for $3,000+. I'd recommend you pick it up before they pick the prices back up, I'm seeing it online for $1,100 too now. Rift Zone 1 is the one I have, 29" wheels.
