I love the chemistry Cat & Prince shared. Their stage performance had a natural rythmic flow.
Anissha Blackwell Yes , she was his best with that chemistry on dancing. Rosie Gaines had best chemistry singing Shiela E also great chemistry. When Prince and Mayte worked together when the were still in love , I just did not see that work / stage performance chemistry there between them two. Prince stayed on his spot on the stage doing his thing. , Mayte was all over the stage doing her thing. Like as if he just turned her loose on the stage like a chicken with its head cut off with no direction. Like he ignored her on stage. He acted more connected to Cat and Shiela. You could feel the vibes he had going on with them to. I couldn't see it or feel it with him and Mayte. I'm not saying this to bash Mayte Honestly , cause I believed he loved her then. Just didn't see or feel stage chemistry. with them two.
April West, Now that's hilarious. I recall Mayte the ballerina/ belly dancer tip toe dancing and sword swinging routines. Actually, after reading her book, I became a fan. And as a fanatical Prince fan, I now realize that he gravitated mostly to young naive women that he could control; but a few of his talented proteges didn't hang around long.

Can't imagine her being on his tours and act longer...Prince rotated certain (female) artists fast as he did his drawls. CTFU. She is really trying it and we know she wouldn't of said this while Prince was alive. Last footage I seen of her in recent years she was being denied access to a club and she DID SEEM ON 1... NOT Drunk. & 🐈 also had hostility toward Sheila E.
April West I think Mayte's connection to Prince was more spiritual than the rest. I think Matye being already a professional dancer and something different for his creative strides at the time, He turned her loose and let her shine.

She said she had to make an important decision that went against how she was raised. She answered but was being discreet to her credit. It’s obvious that she wasn’t willing to go down the satanic/luciferian route a that all are required to go to make it to the higher level of the music world.

Why is the news media not asking about this and if you have children with Prince, Why are they not claiming what’s rightfully theirs and that’s Paisley Park and Prince’s vault music and Estate. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. The fact is, none of us will ever know the real truth. I have loved Prince since the 1999 album came out. Whether or not he did drugs is up for debate. But If he did, that will not tarnish my image of him. I will not think any less of him or love him any less. He wanted us to love the music.

Dr. Fink said from personal experience that Prince frowned upon the idea of his band members doing as little as drinking alcohol at least around him, which is interesting because Brown Mark said he actually developed an alcohol habit while with the band. Fink would definitely know, seeing as how he's probably one of the musicians he worked with heaviest and for the longest period of time.

If you read Chicks book you will see revolution bandmates drank and took cocaine. Prince hated it. I think he tried drugs but wasn’t really interested because he liked to be in full control. Lovesexy has so many drug references tho.
The last part of his life was so sad. He was medicated. I don’t think he ever needed drugs to feel high or have fun. He was so much fun himself in his normal state.
Some drug dealer said p took drugs since early 80s because he was scared being on stage in front of thousands of people. I seriously don’t believe that. He loved and enjoyed being on stage and being a super star

Very good interview. Prince had such a magnetic personality that if he had allowed drugs, many would've done drugs and died. This shows the decency and good values he upheld despite the rock star persona.

I noticed as the interviews the newer interviews anyway. Prince isn't here to refute them. So I think most of them can say whatever they want. I've heard Cats other interviews and I think it's in limbo between a lot of Truth and maybe things she thinks are the truth I feel there's a lot of exaggeration and maybe not so truthful in some of her interviews. Because I've heard interview that don't make any sense to me when it comes to interaction with other members in the beginning of Prince before his legacy even kicked off. So I don't know. Like the others have said on this video / post leave the one and only Prince alone it's nice to have memories and to hear how things may have went down. But sometimes like I said there's a lot of distance between where the truth and the Fabrications lie.

Nice interview, kind of hard to follow when everyone is talking at the same time. Cat is a phenomenal dancer and always appeared to have fun working with Prince. Have heard for years she filed a paternity case against Prince. I have seen pictures of her son who had himself dressed and made up to look like Prince, I guess there is a slight resemblance. For the life of me I cannot remember his name. Anyway, would like to hear more of what she has to say as long as she does not trash talk Prince. Thanks for the video.

Cat, I heard that Prince had hazel or green eyes. I read that you have maybe one or 2 children who have hazel or green eyes. Are they Prince's children? Would you be able to tell the truth now that he's no longer with us. I only met Prince once and he was a kind soul to me. Yes, I'm old enough to be his momma, but he treated me kind after I met him accidentally and he walked over and placed my hands into his. At first, I was wondering "who is this man?" Then I realized "this man is Prince." We held hands for a few minutes. I didn't feel threatened by him at all. I felt at peace. Yes, he was nice to this old lady (me). I didn't know much about his music before I met him (a few years before his passing). After I met him, I just had to find out what kind of music did he have out here. I found out and I liked most of it. When I heard the news on TV that "Prince is dead." A heaviness fell on me and I'm still not over it and it's March, 2018. All I can say is "I miss Prince." And this old lady can also say that: I love Prince. I saw on TV that Prince had started searching for Jesus with Larry Graham. I pray that he found Jesus before he passed. I can put this out in the atmosphere: "I miss U Prince!"
I'll never be able to hear ALL of Prince's music. I heard him say on TV once this: "I am music." I realized that Prince was really music and music was in every bone in his body. Wow! It's amazing. I kinda hoped that Prince is NOT dead. That he is somewhere on an island with someone he loves.

There are rumors he asked several girlfriends to abort his babies because he didn't believe they were his soulmates. Mayte Garcia was the only woman he called his soulmate. BUT once he had surgery on his hip (if ur jumping from stuff all the time in high heels, ur body is gonna feel it at some point) it was all down hill after that. Y’all remember when he was walking around w a cane?!? Yup cuz his knees and hip was a mess :( So his drug use only got worse and worse after he got addicted to the prescription pills :( YES him and his team should have been smarter about his use but that of course didn’t happen! Vanity left because Prince offered her only $5,000 to be his co-star in the movie. She asked for a raise and he refused to pay her more money.

CES 1... Loved Vanity, but at that time she was drugging bad and she even said Prince was trying to prevent her from spending all her money on drugs which she admitted to doing then. Then she posed for Play Boy and Prince was pissed. So there were several factors. But they really loved each other according to some insiders.
CES 1 The story was loosely based on there relationship, but it wasn't a true story. And she definitely was the inspiration for the character, but it's not like they sit down and wrote it together. As a matter of fact the script Prince originally wrote was much darker then the story that ended up on screen. I believe another writer actually wrote the majority of what we saw in the movie. I'll have to look at my blue ray for the information. Also about Vanity salary for the movie, everyone is always getting it wrong about the who paid who thing. Prince did not paid anyone, it was produce by Warner Bros film distribution, so they paid the bills. Warner Bros would only paid 7 million for the making of the movie. And most of that was spent on the film needed to shot the picture, film is very expensive. Vanity had experience in acting,( she's a much better actress then she is a singer )a long with the two people who played Prince's parents. But she wasn't well known for her acting. And the movie company wasn't going to paid her big bucks, when they can always get someone else. But I would have loved to have seen Vanity in Purple Rain. I do think it was real nice of her to couch Apollonia for the part. They became good friends because of that.
Siren Heart oh I 💯 percent believe that he adored her. I do not feel he loved mayte. I think that was a shotgun wedding. Vanity was quite talented. But her drugging in the early 80s? I never read that I thought it was way after she left him. If that’s true.. she blew it big time.

Cat, you had ur time (pun intended) and bests for you to raise ur children. Chicago or London (ha, she knows she's back to home turf) and go to counseling.
One reason people repeat over and over is that they feel they are not being heard. So, they repeat and repeat. Many get louder with each round and will continue until others let them know "I hear you." and "I understand you." You don't have to agree. But everyone needs to feel welcomed, valued, respected and heard. If not they will either explode or implode.
Why is so important to say she wasn’t fired but she left?? Who can believe this?? She left for what? Never be in front of thousands anymore? Going back in anonymous with no money? When Prince did a new project, he changed the band. He ever ever did that. She wasn’t in the new project….FIRED.
I'm sorry Cat, but you're crazy as a road lizard for leaving this beautiful, intelligent, talented, passionate (I can go on & on) man (band). I think within reason, I would have done everything in my power to stick stay. We've witnessed that you & most of the performers that left his band never really gained or maintained (super)star status afterwards. I guess some situations couldn't be resolved. But whatever it was, it had to be a doozy or him firing me. Because no lie, I would've been holding on to his ankles for dear life ...
Of course, this is my opinion & I mean no disrespect to anyone...

Joey Day After working under grueling work hours and being so professional , I doubt if her work decisions were bad decisions. She at or may not had regretted her choice to leave. But bad choices. , I don't it.

I think Cat's work with Prince was amazing. I especially love the Koo Koo video she made with Sheila. That 87-88 period is my favorite Prince era and Cat was a huge part of it. Obviously, I don't know what was going on behind the scenes but it's seem like a bad decision to walk away from working with the most creative pop artist of all-time to do....? Well, I don't know what she did after that. I know she recorded some music in '89 or '90 that didn't go anywhere.
