It's good that someone built a proper front end for the Bronco after seeing how many needed to be rescued on UTUBE after busting something. Broncos and side by sides seem to be always busting something.

I think that other than the Heavy Wrecker, the Golden Nugget takes the cake. After being left for how many years? in the bush, drug out behind the Morrvair, through and under a river, it turned out amazing.

Would have been nice if you guys spent some time and talked about his truck more. Like what's the power train, is it worked over with some power parts. The kind of axles that are in it, Transmission type, what tranfercase is used. Tires, ETC but no you want to know what a tow costs. You blew it!

Matt's wrecker and Robby Layton with the Golden Nugget I believe Robby said if he had to ad up the real hours and paint supplies the Golden Nugget's paint job and restoration was over $80,000.00

Favorite build has got to be The World's Largest Off Road Wrecker. - - Why they put those ugly Harbor Freight signs all over it is beyond my comprehension - I love Harbor Freight and understand it's more-than-likely a sponsorship thing, but it looked like a last-minute / hasty plastering instead of a well thought-out vinyl graphic.
Just a suggestion - It'd be really nice to see some sort of update on how your new shop is progressing - even if in one of those video 'shorts'.
I agree on the Harbor Freight stickers. They sponsored Matt's entry, so that is why they are there.

The Heavy Wrecker is at SEMA because Harbour Freight invited Matt to show it at their booth. The Harbour Freight stickers only came on for SEMA.

All is good, but that yellow tiny Suzuki is NOT a Golden Nugget. There nothing left from the soul of that beat up car they found. It was all striped down, and painted over. It is a nice car, but it is NOT a golden nugged. The spirit of Golden Nugget was repealed from it and returned back into the original place. What we seen is just some yellow Suzuki, beautiful but soulless. The old door on the wall in the Matt's shop have more nostalgia than this pimped up ride.

I think the wrecker is cool and all but come on Matt’s a wanna be heavy d and that guy is already to much. Lol I like fab rats wrecker because it’s practical and with enough time and space anyone could build something similar which is more realistic.
Up front: I've watched a lot more Matt's Off Road Recovery than Heavy D. However, HD seems like a lot more "show" while MORR is simply taking us along for the ride. As I understand it the wrecker is born out of necessity. There are jobs he struggles with in the Morrvair - eg. campers, larger trucks in really bad spots {cough, river, cough}, and even just jeep/buggy/SUVs in some of the more challenging terrain - which is where they tend to break. Even with the Morrvair/Banana combo there are lots of examples where their existing pull/kinetic/winch solutions come up short or require some sketchy luck. I believe Matt has said the wrecker is intended to do the big stuff, and also the small stuff like UTVs without a trailer.
MORR actually teamed up with HD for a project that was beyond MORR - pulling junkers out of a canyon hundreds of feet down. The wrecker needs to be big, the target weight is 10,000 - 12,000 lbs so that it can pull the big stuff to it, rather than the other way around. It has the huge tires (50" now, 54" when they put it to work) so that it'll have a very soft footprint (low psi) for the sand. 4 wheel steering for tight spots, and yes, maybe too many winches but at least that way they won't have to fight the wrecker into position/orientation - there will always be a winch pointing the direction they need.
