- What's up y'all! This is a VERY exciting and VERY informational video! In case you don't know, I am an interior designer with 7 years of experience. I majored in interior design and achieved my BFA. I collaborated with Natalie Perri, who is currently enrolled at UPenn to get her master's in Architecture. We discuss the differences and similarities in what it takes to become an architect and interior designer.

NCIDQ accredited schools are very similar in approach and execution when it comes interior design and architecture. My process for school was the exact same as the architects answer. I graduated almost two years ago!
This was so fun to watch! 🤩 I really enjoyed listening to each perspective and the differences of both career paths!
I’m so glad you enjoyed it!! ☺️
Such an informative video. Thank you so much. Please keep making videos like this! And good luck on everything

Awesome! Hopefully you end up with the one you love the most!
The questions were EXCELLENT. Super important to know
that's awesome to hear! :)
Thank you for the explanation. I planning on majoring in interior design.

@@SandraJessicaChavez After some consideration (and with the help of ur contents), I now wish to pursue an interior design major, however, I'm having some trouble choosing between going to SCAD or Parsons. Can you maybe help me a bit?
Thank you for this video!
You’re welcome!☺️
very informative and entertaining to watch! I am looking into studying interior design after graduating. (currently studying design and production) but I'm really scared so this video definitely provides me with more information to make my decision!
Yay! Hope it all goes well for you!✨
What a fun collab!
Thank you!
This was great! In Scotland the university course was Interior and Architectural design which meant we learned so much about context as much as interiors. And I don’t miss the sleepless nights lol! ❤️👌🏽
That’s amazing! Makes you a well rounded designer 👌🏼 i always find it so interesting how other universities around the world function
Thanks!
You’re so welcomed!
Great video 😊🤞
Thank you!☺️
Hi! Need help understanding what educational route to take. I want to be a architectural visualiser, using rendering programs but working with a company before freelancing. These companies prefer their employees to have a arch bachelors. Very few also take employees with interior design degrees. Architecture is great but I feel 3d visualisation doesn't need all those years of school. But any advice on what road to take?
Thank you!
You don’t need to do your bachelor’s and master’s degree in architecture to be an architect. You can do, a 5 years program approved by NCARB, do your bachelor’s and master’s in architecture and/or do you bachelor’s degree in the field that you like and then do your master’s degree in architecture. Obviously if you do your bachelor’s in some field outside design; I guess that is going to to be more difficult to understand the basic concepts and programs. 🙂
Wow. Thank you for this! Can you elaborate on this more please?🙏
@@angelgurung8873 if you are interested in being an architect in the USA, I recommend looking the NCARB website (attached below).
🙌🏽 good luck!

Please I really appreciate it,help me on how to choose a part in interior design work
Can plzzz suggest me like is my plan is right or not , now I'm in 12th grade next year I will go yo uni so I'm taking ARCHITECTURE and then I'm planning to do master in INTERIOR ARCHITECTURE so is this a right plan
Well, let me ask you this: do you want to become and architect or interior designer? If you want to be a designer, I say head straight into the design program! Getting an architecture degree isn't necessary if you want to become an interior designer.
@@SandraJessicaChavez I want to be architect then masters in interior architecture so is this a great plan?
@@Siddhi1812 if you want to be an architect than that sounds like great plan for you!
Great Girls!
Thanks for watching!☺️
Lovely voice
Thank you!
Hi! 👋
Is interior design have a board exam?
I'm here in the Philippines 🇵🇭
hi!! interior design does have an exam if you want to be licensed. There are some US states that require it but not sure about other countries!
they are really alike, but I don't get why do architects make more money
I would love to work for you!
Will let you know if I’m hiring! 😌
I forgot what artists are like
