My mom worked as a watch maker, she used to build HMT watches.
Is she employed now ?
Any news about new hmt watches ?
Lovely, I collect HMT watches!
@@mayankpahuja1876 Thank you buddy. I will check them out definitely.
It's a rare job for woman. She has a great passion.💯
I found my grandpa's HMT automatic, started wearing it since today, super cool
I have never thought that a foreign channel will include HMT, even the Indians have already forgotten about the brand lol. Pilot, Saathi, Janata and Kahinoor are on my bucket list when it comes to HMT. It's hard to get brand new these days.
Ikr. Well guess what. On their official site, they have invited applications for setting up hmt stores over India. We might start to get hmt stores pretty soon and I hope that hmt as a brand catches up to the international market. I have 2 hmts and it just feels different to see "INDIA" written next to the six o clock marker. Yeah a seiko, tissot, rado, longines and what not, they are all quality timepieces. But none of them have "INDIA" printed on their dials. Wearing an hmt gives me a sense of pride. Love both of my hmts. Hopefully they have a better plan for the future.
P. S. : They are shifting to a new site also from the 1st of Jan 2023. Thts another thing to be excited for. Super excited to see wht comes next.
Ya I want to take over hmt. Let me.know if u guy wanna pool in and bid haha
Socialism 🔥
I've got a Janata through an Indian friend. Lovely thin watch, wears a treat too thanks to the classical sizing. Unfortunately can only wear it sparingly because it has no water resistance whatsoever.
I have got an HMT Sona, vijay and Kohinoor and for about 1200rs each and after I started using them, can't go back to my casios. Hmts are so much thinner and liter and definitely more interesting. Definitely get a refurbished one if you want to experience ownership of manually winded mechanical watches.
Really didn't expect to see Pagani on this channel. I'm wearing a PD 1703 and it's probably my favorite watch. Gorgeous, and easily readable. The Seiko VK movement is perfect for this type of watch. Switched it with a buffalo strap that cost as much as the watch itself and I hardly take it off.
Ayyy. A man with good sensibility.
I have PD1716 (dark blue) and my fav San Martin SN-004G.
I have one too, my favourite daily .
I'm wearing the PD 1751 (Ranger Homage I guess, looks quite different imho). I love it. If someone handed it to me, told me the specs, and I didn't already know the brand, I would guess $400 watch. What Pagani can ship to your door for under $100 is kind of mind blowing. Just gotta be ok with bad lume.
Hmt Kohinoor is such a beauty. A mechanical hand wound citizen movement in a beautiful case for under $40 is unbelievable.
Watchfinder mentions HMT!? Am I in a strange dream !? :D I have 3 HMT's and they all run very precise !
Well done for including HMT, I've had a few and if (I do mean if) you get a good one they are exellent.
Glad to see you mention the Invicta Pro Diver in this video. It's hard to beat a 200 meter dive watch with an NH35 automatic movement for under a hundred dollars. I have several and most were around eighty dollars. Those Citizen watches were impressive for the price, and the Skagen looked cool, too. I'm not familiar with the brand, but I'll check it out. Thanks for another great video.
heartily agree with this. got myself a pro diver 40mm for £72 so just under $90 and it really is hard to argue against its value for money
In the US, I often see pro divers on Amazon for under $60. Yes, the automatic NH35 one.
Invicta makes (mostly) shitty designed, gaudy watches. But Pro Diver is the real gem among the rocks
I recently bought a Pagani Design PD-1715 with a blue palm dial(in green it looks to much like a datejust than). But i have it for 35 days now and it is keeping perfect time(no adjustment for now) like a well regulated Seiko NH-35 A would. And the fit and finish is much better than expected.
Looking for one...
#BrunoBodyModz
So happy to see an HMT in your list. And it's also the one that I've got 😁😁
I picked up my blue and gold Invicta Pro Diver Automatic for $30 in a black friday sale. Definitely worth more than i paid for it.
Casio Edifice EFB-108D-7AV is my pick for watch of the year under $100. Sapphire, 100m WR, PRX styling, awesome bracelet. Hard to beat unless mechanical is mandatory for you.
good value but since Citizen make incredible Eco drive pieces Quartz doesn't make sense anymore
@@abdellah4878 Eco drive works on quartz too 😅
Nice one, guys. Really loved this one! AI is getting close (the vicar at my local church used AI to generate the introduction for his Carol Service sermon and it was extremely convincing!) but nothing can beat human opinion, taste and illogic decisions. Keep up the great work, keep well and have a great Christmas :-)
Yes! Love more affordable lists! Love my Bambino you recommended!
Very fun list. I love that you gave exposure to some of these brands I am unfamiliar with - thank you.
Finally ! My favorite channel , acknowledged the existence of one of my favorite watch brands , pagani design 😁 so happy
San Martin are almost always EASILY over $100 (often over $200) sometimes with Swiss movements and finishing to rival Seiko and Swiss brands.
Never imagine I would see Pagani Design and San Martin mentioned on Watchfinder & Co. Channel one day LOL And to tell you the truth, headquarters of both companies are just 60-80 minutes drive away from my hometown (and I am pretty sure that San Martin used to have their headquarter located just about 10 minutes drive away from my home, but I never knew that until I started my watch collection earlier this year) 😂
For this round I gotta go with the Hand Man, much closer to the $100 price tag, and in particular I love the Vostok, Seiko 5, and Orient watches, all are very decent choices covering a variety of styles.
To be fair the mention of Pagani and San Martin kind of came with a 'smack'.
For the best-under-$250 roundup which is surely looming, give the Tissot Couturier a shot. Isn't even listed on the US website but at 39mm, sub-12mm thickness, and a Powermatic 80... it sets a high value bar indeed.
The conversation between these two are hilarious😂 you guys should do more of this
I really enjoy these type of videos where you and Tom have a "competition" to find the best watch. Your witty banter keeps me laughing and learning about new watches that might not have been on my radar. Keep up the great work!
Whoaaa... you guys included HMT. I've been collecting them for a while now and never thought to see them on Watchfinder.
I got that same Seiko snkl23
Changed a strap to black leather- it does the job just right:)
It’s so cool, Casio-like coolness. I do t use it often, but it makes me appreciate the robust/cheap& solid seiko engineering:)
Finally you have come to my range of luxury 😜
the A100, literally looking at getting one rn and that's just cemented it as my next watch
The vostok amphibias are great watches, had one for a long time now and never had any problems with it, the same with the komandirskies. For $100 you can buy two of those 😁.
You’d think keeping under 100$ would be the easiest aspect of this for the AI to achieve
love the seiko 5, but some specific variant (which looks gorgeous) does not available in my country tho
The stories I’ve read were the French Navy divers started the use of parachute webbing as a watch strap in the 1960’s which were modified by the riggers. The British MoD standardized a webbing strap in 1973.
Another great video, cheers guys. Would love to see an Accurist - Rotary - Sekonda battle 🙂
You've inspired me. While watching this vid, I broke down and finally bought a Mido Multifort Patrimony. Blue dial, of course!
The Seiko SNKL23 is a little thing of beauty. Love mine. I'd wish the Casio Duro would come in a smaller size, those are great value.
Such calm voices. I listen to these fine gentleman, close my eyes and sleep
Love your content qnd lots of appreciation from Pakistan.
That blue / black swatch actually looks very interesting. Maybe will pick one up
Instead of the Timex field watch, theres an offering from Lorus that's made of titanium, 100m water resistance, seiko lumibrite on the hands, 7mm thick. it's an absolute steal for around $70.
Reference ?
HMT is a class option!
I love HMT I buy and sell in California but truthfully I rarely sell they just wear so well on the wrist it feels light but visually is just awsome watching the smooth second hand.
The Casio MDV 106 is a real gem. Mines on a Barton Bands black sailcloth strap and looks great, keeps good time, and looks much more expensive than it actually was.
Didn't expect quite a few things from this video - mention of Pagani, HMT and am incredibly helpful AI 😂
Im building a japanese collection, absolutly love em. Have a Orient diver aswell as the bambino dress watch.
I recently got two HMT Kohinoor as part of custom order
A HMT! Ahhhh that is so nice to see! Lads I'm headed to India and imma bring you back a couple of them if you'd like!
Mr. Hands won. Sorry Tom. The Best Line of the Week (and it's the first one on a Monday morning): "[S]o many good things are made in India. Jaguars and Land Rovers are made in India and they never go wrong." This line flew right over the head of 98 percent of your readers. To those who have owned or experienced those automobiles, we spit out our morning coffee with hysterical laughter.
I recommend you see a doctor ASAP. You almost certainly suffer from delusions of adequacy.
To be fair, they have (slightly) improved on reliability since Indians started making them😁
Lovely video there, something which an enthusiast with small pocket can afford.
By the way happy to see an hmt there, they used to make great watches.
I was fortunate enough to get several hmt's, it took a minute to get them but I am not disappointed, nice little watches, that silver dial janta, nice
Amazon has loads of Invicta diver's watches for less than £/$100, personally I love Invicta, great value for money. I currently wearing one with a NH35 movement that cost £70
This is highly amusing. Nice work.
Am thinking of buying a orient watch or a Bulova watch or citizen.. don't now what to pick its between the citizen and Bulova watch... guess what I like the most at the end..
Seiko 5 snxs79 in your thumbnail 🔥🔥🔥
I actually really like the Skagen watch that's very interesting to be honest and I kind of want one
Yeah, awesome list! The Lorus field watch RG877CX9 is kind of cool too. Titanium!
I own a HMT Kohinoor and it’s really a great watch. ❤
Seiko 5 would be my buy from that list.
I am saving to buy a Seiko Grande
The Vostok “Scubadude” is a legend in the affordable-watch world.
Love the timex standard. Very clean design. No fuss just class.
Seiko SNK800 series. Awesome field watch for around 100 USD
I still use my dad's hmt which my dad used wear for 20 yrs really good watch
I have a few SanMartin watches because I really think they are great quality. Not just great quality for the price but really great quality overall.
I am not here to pretend they have the same class or collectable status but I enjoy wearing them. I am not pretending they are more than what they are. I get a sense of pleasure from them and that’s all that matters to me.
I wonder if this channel would ever review a SanMartin?
I'm new to watches, had a ~100€ budget and instead of going for a casio/citizen/seiko I went for a typical fashion brand with miyota quartz movement which design I really like. Speaking from ignorance, is there ANY REAL ADVANTAGE of buying an automatic apart from brand heritage, technical stuff and people's opinion? Cheers
How about stealing a Rolex? Zero Dollars.
The Vostok Amphibia with a custom bezel is now my daily driver, replacing my more expensive watches. It has survived an intense rafting trip where it was knocked on several rocks, sub -20 C temperatures and several hikes. Incredible engineering.
Mt gold tone komondierski for dress watch a nice $40 substitute for a calatrava 🤷
The Amphibia is one of my most worn watches. A mechanical G-Shock for sure!
@@MaxVroomfondel yessir! In some cases like extreme cold it is actually tougher, as digital screens can be damaged and quartz movements have problems
@@williamsullivan3967 yeah love those!
Nice work.
I'm craving a bargain for the Seiko5 white face i think it's snkl41k1 if I'm correct, Can't find a good deal anywhere
Include Baltany & Escapement Time watches next time too - incredible value for money!
Baltany are usually more expensive .. plus I think they are anti-Aliexpress/ Chinese brands based on their reaction to Pagani and San Martin.
That is ok to me considering that there are other channels that will provide fair reviews of those watches (and yes I watch a number of those channels too).
Honestly could just do a top 10 casio watches under $100 and still have a solid list.
I just went on a vintage Seiko automatic buying binge on eBay. Managed to snap up some unique working watches for 20 to 30 bucks each, there’s some cool stuff out there
Hey Ive seen a guy like that on etsy, is that kind of seller reliable? I was thinking about buying one
@@pollux_id2557 you definitely have to be careful where you order from, I haven't messed with Etsy but on Ebay you want to refine your search to items located in north America (assuming that's where you are)
Tons of refurbished watches come from india and take months to arrive.
but yesterday for example I got a slightly modded seiko skx173 for $135 with an extra band.
Please provide a link to where one can purchase the Kohinoor new for $35 USD, thanks.
I absolutely lost it when you pulled up the gold invicta. 😂
Really glad I watched this as it brightened my mood today. I have to agree with the AI that you may as well spend more money.
... if you have it to spend ...
I got the snkl23, cheap enough from online store in Singapore. Nice looking dress watch particularly the face and hands. Old movement with no hand winding and hacking, rattly cheap bracelet and hollow end links, Mineral crystal. Better off getting a good homage with better spec and newer movement (like the Pagani design) or spend a bit when a Seiko etc half price (never worth RRP).
I had that very model of Invicta acquired 15 years ago when they used ETA movements. And it was over $200. The value now for less than $100 is remarkable. Their 1953 model can be had with a Seiko movement for $60!
choices took a bit of a dive in round 3, that fossil and invicta haha what a state
That Timex Standard is beautiful!
what do you think of buying a used watch for 100 quid? while risker, seems more intresting and involved.
One vote for the human. Having seiko, citizen, orient, swatch, timex, casio and vostok is a win I don't think anyone can do a 10 watches list for under 100$ and skip any of those.
I have a Seiko 5 and I love it
Seiko is still using old Seiko 5 logo or these just still in stock since the new Seiko 5’s rolled out?
You actual pronounced Kohinoor better than any non native I have ever heard. Well done !
Alba (Seiko) AQPJ402 titanium quartz 10bar day date $63
I would have replaced the Timex both for the Lorus Lumibrite "field watch" the only thing for me is the size of it, a bit small for my wrist...
I think you can even get an Alba (Seiko sub brand like Lorus) Titanium watch for around $100. Fyi I do have the Lorus Lumibrite and love it.
FYI. I just picked up a Bulova Lunar Pilot for $329 USD at Jomashop. The second it popped up on your video, I thought I'd overpaid until you guys clarified. haha
Wow, where can I get that HMT Kohinoor?
I was looking at some Seiko 5 watches. Very tempted to buy one then and there, but I went away and checked the specs - mainly wanted to know water and magnetic resistance.
And buried deep in the spec sheet, there it was. 45 seconds per day? I mean come on. My first watch as a young kid lost 17 seconds per day, and I was made very aware that I had the worst watch of everyone I knew.
Very pretty watches though. If it's just for ornamentation, then sure, why not?
Ok "black track suit" is a inspiration.
I just bought Seiko SRPE61K1 few days ago :)
Hahahha Andrew-Tom you guys are the best 😄👍🏼
Casio EFV-100D. I have it, 89 €!
Expedition Scout has Indiglo, which makes it the best on the list.
Too bad that robot went to Armitron but missed their actually-cool retro LED offerings.
But anyway, I have the "Alien" Casio, a couple of Amphibias, and that green Timex Expedition (which is the best-made/quality-assured Timex I've had yet, including much more expensive options). They're all great options, proving that inexpensive watches can be legit.
Men's choice was the obvious winner here. Expected to see the Orient Tristar on the list.
Andrew has a pretty good selection, however that $55 spring drive alone takes the win
Great vid guys👍. Good selection which will do everything a £300 watch will do. Job done. That orient looks great. I’d warn people off those Timex models. Had a few and they were worse than awful. Terrible quality and both gave up the ghost in under a year.
Tom usually gets my vote on these competitions but he put his fate into the hands of a robot, which brings us one step closer to Skynet.
Bad Tom.
“A DOLLAR A MILLIMETER!” 😂
Still, for under a hundred bucks, I’d go with the Casioak over the Armitron. 😊
What a fun video!
Good job, thanks!
How are you both not laughing your heads off at each other all throughout this? 😂😂😂
Great to see HMT here, I can see you getting a bunch of Indian subscribers in now! :) No CasiOak?
"Hindustan Machine Tools Limited, is an Indian state-owned manufacturing company under the control of the Ministry of Heavy Industries and ownership of Government of India."
Fascinating stuff.
There's a yellow dial one that is an absolute joy.
While i agree that there are some san martins do have some very VERY close models, i also think they have some pieces that are more of the true "homage" territory (like the explorer with the different finished dials and different numerals/ milsub with different case shape, finishing + proportions, etc.) that are totally fine and i don't think warrant the amount of hate people give to it- i see them in the same category as smiths and invicta, but with better QC. Everything is an homage to something, and at the end of the day, its just a watch that 99% of people won't notice or care about.
Most of these fancy trinkets are either discontinued and/or out of the price range for most humans, so buy whatever makes you happy
Agree - is the subby an homage to the Blancpain Fifty Fathoms?
@@karlsenula9495 knowing how Rolex took most of their “technology” from other parts of the industry, I think it could be- it happens in nature/the animal kingdom all the time
I m trying from last 6 months for the HMT Kohinoor but bad luck 🤞
what is the name of the second Pagni watch you showed
8:35, I got a very similar one from China for 15$ as a "try before buy" for a G-Shock that are similarly sized (read: BIG), I opened it and I made good laughs! Inside there is a circuit board that drives the LCDs, retroillumination and so on, with its own 3V large lithium battery... AND a COMPLETELY INDEPENDENT ultra cheap quartz analog movement (with its own small battery) that drives the hands 😆🤣😆🤣 There is NO WAY to properly synchronize the 2 watches also because after a couple of days the analog one is already at least a couple of seconds ahead or behind the LCD one. A real joke of a watch :D :D (and yes, regardless my 19.5cm wrist, I feel that thing, and consequently a G-Shock, too big for me :) )
