The funny thing is: everyone talks about hacking 3DS (which everyone should do at this point) but if it comes to Streetpass, most act like it's dead. Sure it's not 1 to 1 the same to find someone also doing Streetpass, but with hacking the system, you can have Streetpass every day to be able to play all the Mii Plaza Games.
Yeah you can hack in tags but it doesn't feel quite the same as tagging real people legitimately.
I went on a trip to Gatlinburg Tennessee a few months ago. Brought my 3DS, and kept it in sleep mode whenever we were out and about (which was most of each day). In a week of trying to Streetpass someone in a busy, populated place (even went to their Main Street, which had SO MANY PEOPLE), I got… one Streetpass. And I was so freakin excited. I even took a video of it with my phone.
I’m going to Florida later this year, and plan to do the same thing. Maybe I’ll even get _two_ Streetpasses this time! :D

The feature I remember the most was in bravely default you could send special moves to other people, mine has totally broken, did max damage; but also you could send and receive special bosses you could fight
Gonna be honest, I never played Bravely Default (mainly because I'm not into very many RPGs). It's really cool though with how some of these games integrated Streetpass.
You should have came to Streetpass Live at Pax East this year!
I've never been to a Pax unfortunately. It is my goal to start attending, it's just a bit hard to get myself to when tickets pile up due to being the sole IT guy at work lol. But definitely in the plans to start figuring out and attending.

I was late to the 3ds game only getting an n3ds in 2023 and as many times as I've gone out with it I've only gotten a singular streetpass... From someone in the cinema where I was watching the fnaf movie... Feel like I missed out on 2000, early 2010 consoles when they were actually relevant 😢
It really was a great feature in it's prime, one that I wish Nintendo would revisit in some fashion again on a future system.
@@GamersCharisma debating weather to get a switch 2 when they release. On one hand Nintendo exclusives and on the other a bunch of games I can play on my pc
We'll have to see if Nintendo has figured out security by Switch 2. The Switch started to feel like it was pretty secure, unfortunately NVIDIA dropped the ball with the Tegra bootrom. Otherwise without that the Switch security was actually pretty good in comparison to the 3DS. IMO without that, the Switch homebrew/piracy/emulation scene wouldn't be remotely where it is now.
If you mad about failing to get a street pass tag i will admit to turning power off every time im done playing i never put my 3ds to sleep.
Tbh I'm just as guilty lol. I only recently started trying to keep it on me more often.
Yur funny im subbing. I Lowkey wanna leave my 3ds in sleepmode and drive just to see. I have to travel about 2 hours anyways
