🇵🇹 it makes sense to me that the launch of the R5 MKII would be around the time of the Olympic games. I will only really know if the specifications offered are worth the price difference for the R5. Rumors alone are not enough to have an informed opinion on the advantages and disadvantages. Thanks.
The R3 has dropped to 3999 which is what this camera is rumored to be as well. That is only 100$ more than the R5 when it was released.
any chance cannon will do a focus bracketing with flash like the OM products?? such an obvious great feature!!! great review,!
The R3 has it. It was not included in the R5 because of the readout speed was insufficient to support the function. If the rumour of faster readout than the R3 is true it should be supported. If it isn't I'm not buying. I'll look elsewhere for a new macro rig.
@@SteveSSBB The same for me. Actually I'm with EOS R (first one) and if R5 MK2 doesn't have bracketing with flash - I'm going with Olympus.

@@mrcandybares4177 So, it looks like the R5II will synch flash to 1/160 using electronic shutter. Hopefully the option to use flash with focus bracketing will be supported on that basis, but there is no confirmation from the initial reviews. I've reached out to Canon and my local retailer to verify. I put together an Olympus kit 2 years ago. I think that macro is the sweet spot for the system, but it didn't work well for me otherwise. I would strongly suggest renting or borrowing before buying.
@@mrcandybares4177 Looks like we are getting our wish. Response from Canon - '"Focus bracketing with flash is possible with a compatible Canon Speedlite. Based on the EOS R3, I believe that just the Speedlite EL-1 is currently supported." - Just added an edit here. The thing I find weird about this reply is that the R3 is not only compatible with the EL-1. You can even use 3rd party units. I'll update if I get any more info.
Has Canon fixed the problem of their mirrorless bodies freezing up, requiring the battery to be removed?
I will wait to see if it’s worth just adding more money and get the R1.
It's really funny that the haters wanna complain about its price being under 4000 but for that dumb overrated sony a9iii costing 5500 they overpraised it (claiming it's revolutionary when in FACT it was recycling OLD tech w a global shitter) like idiots!

@@Feathertouch_prod rf35 1.4 coming out now? 3rd party i agree, im using sigma 50mm on EF adapter the rest is RF. Id like options on RF mount but for my use canons lineup does everything except a wide fast lens. 15-35 is versatile but not fast enough and soft corners on 15mm

this is a myth. and been disproven countless times.
@FordSierraIS show me where? More mp always adds more noise in images. I've had a A7riv and R5, my A9ii performed better for sports. If there's something I missed please explain?
@@eshawnlane2183 ill find some articles about it when im on my computer. But noise is decided by many factors and different sensors have different base iso and different NSR. The tests ive seen when exporting a image from a higher resolution sensor to match the lower resolution sensor the downscaled image is less noisy. I reserached this extensively when deciding between r6mk2 and r5. But you mention sport too, where readout speed also matters.
