Just watched this yesterday - great transfer in every way! The first half of the movie is pretty cheese-ball, but damnit if it doesn't get creepy af in the last half - some of those shots of Chucky are quite haunting. Part 2 and 3 are in 4k, and like Nightmare they are good BUT a lot goofier than the first. I'd highly recommend the "remake" from 2017 - it was excellent, easily the best since the first.
I’ve seen the remake, surprisingly a good film with a fun twist of how they handle Chucky.
Bride of Chucky is the pinnacle of the franchise. I have the first 3 on preorder for the 4K editions. Can’t wait get my hands on them. I sincerely hope Bride gets a 4K too. It’s a stunning looking flick. Great cinematography.

Was a teenager when I saw this, great 80’s horror film! Loved Catherine Hicks, Chris Sarandon & Chuckie!
Have been agonising over whether to upgrade to this 4K, but wonder if the picture quality is better than the blu ray and worth the expense.
I watched Child's Play on 4k last night and I enjoyed it, love the picture and the Dolby Atmos sound 👍
Thanks for another great review, keep it up! I've got all the Child's Play movies in a Blu Ray collection, and will re-check the quality on that disc before I'll buy this one. But it's a cool flick though! ;)

Great video, and I think Shout/Scream Factory did wonders with all three Child's Play movies and their restorations. As far as the original franchise goes, I personally love the sequel, much better and more dynamic film in every way. 3 is decent and Chucky is full on snarky with one liners, but felt rushed. Bride Of Chucky is fun if you don't take it too seriously and Seed Of Chucky is kind of a mixed bag but does have interesting ideas. Curse Of Chucky and Cult Of Chucky I enjoyed a lot, kind of a return to form imo with the series, and of course the TV series was fun, maintained continuity with previous films, excited for season two. I could definitely see Bride Of Chucky getting a 4K next.
Will you post your reviews of 2 and 3 when you have them on 4K?
I have them already but the first movie 4K review didn’t do well with views so I figured people weren’t interested in the sequels for me to cover.
You may not want to go beyond Bride of Chucky Adam. They are not the best. However I love the original films and cannot wait to watch the 4ks with DV and Atmos. Thanks for the review!

I got the 7 Child play movies on blu ray box set with the good guy doll in the box but sadly no good guy doll though but I don’t necessarily these movies on 4k I’m happy with the blu ray version for these movies and I like the box set too for all 7 Child Play movies but that just me though

I don’t think how Bride of Chucky and Seed of Chucky will get a 4K movies release since they are so different in the time lines than the 3 child play movies and Curse of Chucky and Cult of Chucky will definitely not be in 4K since they went straight to blu ray and dvd so that tell you movieguy365 aka Adam that wouldn’t be getting a 4K released since most of movies went straight to dvd and blu ray and will never get a 4K released but that the truth though
My reds were bleeding and I felt it was very soft. I have only watched the first movie but I wasn't impressed.
So many movies that deserve a 4K release and instead we get this overrated film.
