You don’t need loads of experience George to start picking up vinyl. Classic rock is a safe bet, most dance tracks you recognise are usually good. It’s a little time consuming in a field, and usually futile as the good stuff is usually long gone. But certainly not a waste of time

Banging! Takes me back.. haven't seen quality like that for years! It's a real rarity to get a collection like that now. Congrats!!! The master of reality poster is rarer than the lp. Dont think I've ever seen one! Also in through the out door was released with multiple sleeve art variations. 🥳🥳
If i didnt have the shop i would of never in my life seen a collection like this unless you got stupid lucky at a carboot or something. Ive got 2 versions of In through the outdoor now in the shop both with the brown bags

Fantastic pick up. Interesting to see that the Vertigo swirls don't come with the swirly inner sleeves. I'm sure the 'Plastic bags can be dangerous' plain poly inners are original to the albums though by the looks of them. Just goes to show that there is not set menu for these things.

"Budgie of Sighs" 😂 Had most of those rock albums back in the day, left them behind (deliberately 😢) in the garage when we moved house in early 90s and bought them all again on CD... What a absolute prat!
Hi John, nice pick up. I picked up original 1st presses of maters of reality, Paranoid, Abbey Road and let it be for £3 for the lot at a bootfair around 2 months ago. Returned it over £200 with the black Sabbath easily out selling the Beatles 👍

An excellent find I recently picked up Black Sabbath Master Of Reality vinyl in a charity shop for £12 it is on the NEMS label. I also picked up a 5 album cd box set of The Sensational Alex Harvey Band I got this in a charity shop I also knew nothing about the this band but box set was £2 I had to have it. Next is a fantastic album.
They were going to the tip ! 😲
Master Of Reality is one hell of an album and finding it with a crisp poster is a rarity. It’s an album everyone should at the very least hear as it was years ahead of it’s time and regularly cited as being the blueprint for the whole doom metal genre.
The master of reality wasn't a first pressing as it should have the swirl bag with it. Its still an early pressing though. Its probably going to be played a bit in the shop this week i expect

That Lonestar album is cool. A Roy Thomas Baker production. Starts with an eight-minute cover of the Beatles' "She Said She Said."
Heavy Metal Kids is a lost classic! Not heavy metal, though. They sound more like Humble Pie. The singer, Gary Holton, had a unique style. Kind of Johnny Rotten-ish but a few years earlier.

LOL how was furnace ? i just seen the weather an thought who in thier right mind will be going out selling when its due to rain. Not only that ive just paid for another 2000 singles so carboot funds were low

It’s the Philips Product text at the bottom of the label that denotes a first pressing of the debut s/t album.

Well I’m in shock 😳, Karen & Richard and Barbara & Barry ? You think belong on the TIP 😱, John I’m horrified and shocked to the core , these were classics 😂😂😂, that box 📦 contained my teenage years, amazing collection. I expect the guy had a huge smile on his face when you told him how much they were worth 🤔😁😉.
Those records do belong on the tip just because the market is saturated with them or upcycled .Not knocking the music but they are millions of them and it s just annoying crate digging at boot sales with Carpenters Barry Manilow easy listening albums .

Yeah such great stock for the shop
I find it laughable than companies can press bootlegs of live gigs but hardly any bands release them officially. I would buy a bootleg for that reason. It's really stupid in my opinion. I used to have a record shop. That would been a few nice sales :)

I am shocked that he knows so little about Led Zeppelin. How can you be a record collector and not know the Presence album. The way he commented on John Lennon's Shaved Fish I question if he knows Lennon was a Beatle or that they were a band. And the the way he thows his records around I am convinced he doesn’t know what a record is! 😅
