This guy holds country sacrosanct. He can rock with the best, does a fantastic job on country rock yet, when it comes to the real heart of country, he's right there with all the country greats who have gone before. This song (and others) is proof of that. Kudos Dwight. That, from one who isn't "in to" country. But was raised on it.

Man...been listening to Dwight for many years. I loved a beautiful Lady with all that i had in me. Wasn't enough. I tried to drown my feelings, never was enough alcohol. Played some of these songs so many times. Know the words by heart now. We lived in a small SD town, so, yeah. It was exactly: Try not to look so pretty...i lived thru it. But all these years later, these songs can shoot the remembrance of that pain. Instantly. Gotta admire someone who can do that to You w their words n music.
