Tbh, it felt completely sane reaction to me when Andy punched the wall the second time. Poor dude was literally broken down to his ultimate limits and couldn't control his pent up emotions that too while wrongfully demoted. It wasn't funny.
the writers of the show were basically pissed off at Ed Helms so they destroyed his character. Really sad cause Andy became awesome and loveable over the years
I mean... he ditched work to get back together with his ex whilst he had a gf, gave his superiors no warning that he was leaving and then dumped the gf for the ex in front of her friends. How is he innocent in all this?
@@StitchHeart The show writers are writing the show for the audience, not for the enjoyment of Ed Helms. So sabotaging Andy's character hurts the audience more than it hurts Ed. Giving Ed a pathetic or hateable role doesn't really hurt his legacy, because people have the ability to separate character from actor. People will judge the actor based on how well they portrayed the character they were given, not on what character they were given. The showrunners should have been able to cancel Ed's contract with the show through the morality clause, and then written him out of the show earlier. That would have tarnished Ed's legacy without trashing the quality of the show. If they didn't have that clause, this is a good case study on why it's important to have one. So I'm not saying Ed is "innocent" when I say I wish they wrote Andy out of the show gracefully, instead of performing character assassination on Andy.
I notice that the second time his punch is almost more... confident? Like, the first time he's building up this scream of agony and sort of fluidly flings his hand at the wall, whereas the second time he just cocks his arm back and goes for it, only shouting once he makes contact.
He really doesn't like that wall. Also, it's hilarious how buildings in the US are literally made out of papers (hahaa coincidentally, shows about selling paper) If you try that shit anywhere else in the world. You would break your hand, and arm. Cuz other country actually use bricks.
It's a false wall, to create a partition between Michael's office and the rest of the bullpen. If Andy tried to land his fist into a load bearing pillar he would definitely break his hand.
Wood + Drywall construction is great. It's more soundproof than brick. It withstands earthquakes better than brick. It's thinner, so you get more interior space. It allows for much easier plumbing and electrical repairs. And it's softness is actually really useful when installing anything wallmounted : picture frame, coat hang, TV, etc.
First time: “Wow, this guy’s crazy.”
Second time: “Wow, those other people are crazy.”
Lots of people don’t notice this, but in the season3 freak out creed doesn’t even notice anything Andy’s doing. He just workin😂
I don’t see him
@@goldenfiberwheat238 he's at 0:08 and 0:25 right when the camera moves
I agree with Darryl - "he does not like that wall !!!"

yeah i was almost rooting for him to punch people, not walls
I agree. It was pretty freakin' unfunny.

Andy was justified in Season 8, I would’ve lost my shit too full disclosure
POV: You’re in your room and your parents are having a fight outside
I still say they did Andy dirty in the final two seasons, they completely regressed the character lol.
Yeah, they were trying to make him fit Michael’s role, and it didn’t serve him well sometimes.
left ear: Andy punches wall
Right ear: Andy punches wall
The literal exact spot too 😂
Andy: I’m fine
Also Andy: I hate the wall!

I love Daryl's comment because that's us as an audience: he does not like that wall 😂😂 (he sure doesn't)
This was exactly what I needed. Thank you!
Good just means extinction
This video summarizes everything I love about the early seasons of the show and everything I hate about the later
Perfection.
He does not like that wall
He does NOT like that wall
Might not be intentional, but the first person shown after the punch in Jim in S3 and Pam in S8
Significance?

I'm pretty sure that's NOT true, the US doesn't have uniquely fragile homes.
Nelly lowkey the worst character in the office
lowkey? bro she is no doubt
Very cool!
I hate what they did with Andy. He should have stayed with Erin and kept the job, instead they completely ruined his character.
well... they actually ruinned the whole show making Michael leave
