The song is about hip hop, guys. About how he has dedicated his life to hip-hop and literally given it “everything” he's got to the point where it adversely started affecting his personal life. Also, keep in mind that Eminem is really good at making doubles or triples, which means he could be talking about different things at once.
exactly.. like he did with darkness & bad guy (to the last part lol)
@@onlyangel7 and never love again( drugs and his girl)
@@azizalmulla6999 oh yeah omg i forgot about that one
Nope, seems like the whole point went over your and many others head. It’s actually for both Hip-Hop and Kim.
It’s a double story, just like his song ”Darkness”.
Just connect these parts and try to see it.
”I don't think she understands the sacrifices that I've made”
”Faithful all the way, this is how I' get repaid?
Look at how I dress, fuckin' baggy sweats, go to work a mess
Always in a rush to get back to you, I ain't heard you yet
Not even once say you appreciate me, I deserve respect
I've done my best to give you nothin' less than perfectness”.
He used to work his butt off to support his family still Kim decided to cheat.
It’s a double message, my friend.
I have been a fan for 19 years to understand his lyrics!
@@mrswedeee its not a double, it's a misdirection, he's not talking about kim at all he's just talking about rap, but he wants you to think he's talking about a girl
It's a misdirection not a double, there's no double meaning he's just talking about hip hop
This whole song is a double. If you go back and re listen you’ll realize he’s not only talking about his relationship with Kim, but how he feels about hip hop and the way people gave up on him when he didn’t release an album for years. This shit is a masterpiece
It's not a double, it's a misdirection, he wants you to think he's talking about a girl at the start
@@trickster6669 yes, in which the misdirection causes the listener to see he could be talking about 2 different things until the very last line, making it a double. But if it makes you feel better trying to prove people wrong in CZcams comment sections go for it buddy lol
@@1ZaiOT You can call it a double, but I don't think that it's referring to anyone specific.
@@user-pw6tc3ex6l DOesnt have to refer to someone to be a double. If the shoe fits for both circumstances. Its a double.
@@1ZaiOT it's not a double though it has no second meaning, he's not talking about kim as well, he's just talking about the rap game
But he wants you to think he's talking about a relationship with a girl at the start, till he reveals he's talking about rap. It's just a misdirection. A lot of rap songs have done it, Eminems done it in other songs as well I'm pretty sure. Im not trying to prove someone wrong, I'm just trying to educate people on rhyme schemes and to use the real definitions
“Going through changes” is in the recovery. That one hits the heart
Yes, please do a reaction for that!! His letter to Proof is crazy emotional
Yes. Going through changes completes the trilogy:
Mockingbird
When I´m gone
Going through changes
Also "You're Never Over" hits the heart too that one I believe talks about proof
Eminem is a genius! The whole song is a double! It's about his relationship to the rap game! Amazing!
Yes the whole song is a double, Eminem wrote this after being left off MTV's Best Rappers of 2009 List. You HAVE to do "Never Love Again" next
@@SuperViberz you talkin bout "Never love again"? it's on mtbmb
I second "Never Love Again"
has the same exact double entendre theme as this song
Never love again is a relationship/ drug double … this is a relationship/hip hop double
@@rafaelgutierrez2417 yeah but the whole song is a double just like this one
Darkness was a double, this was not. Listeners have claimed this track to be a double for years (and I totally understand why) but EM himself has gone on the record to state this track is only about hip hop. It’s the listener that is making the other connections / correlations - not EM.
"Em-You're never over" should be next 🔥
I love that song too RIP Proof
Fuck it do the whole recovery album with the b side at this point
They really should do it
Big Pun is an absolute Beast. His lyrics and flow are something else
He puts his feelings into the song, he makes you feel every word he says
Eminem "No Apologies", "We as Americans" and "Sayin goodbye to Hollywood" also "Psychopath killer" ft. Yelawolf and Slaughterhouse
I NEED them to do We As Americans
FOR SURE THEY NEED TO REACT TO THOSE
That whole eminem show/8 mile era was something special. The dudes songs just hit different back then. I think it's cause I was a teenager then but maybe it's just the songs just sounded great cause em was always riding the beat back then. I appreciate his work more now knowing how many different styles he's done throughout his career. You can just skip to each era and get a whole style change. It's pretty amazing. Some artists never mature or try new things over their whole career.
Love you more
Wait til they finally do "No Apologies"
This is one of my favorite Em songs. I love the production.
He talking about hip hop. Songs insanely clever and deep
I'm 47 years old..been an Em fan since the beginning..em was gonna retire and this was his letter to Hip Hop saying that he was leaving because he wasn't appreciated...I couldn't wait for u all to get to the end and find out that he wasn't talking about Kim at all..I took and take joy in watching you all discover Em like I did..
🙌 yes, spot on.I’m also 41 had the absolute honour to watch him evolve into the incredible artist he was always destined to be ❤
It's a shame they had that gun to his head in monster
Big Pun is a legend. He's in your favorite rappers top 5 of all time. Lyrics flow delivery, he had it all.
Lol, no.
He’s aiight. But I never got in to him like that. He needed more of a catalog to be fair.
Yeah the little Italy part in Twins is probably one of the best flows in hip hop
I mean big pun is a legend but whenever I see any of my favorite rappers name their top 5 I never see him on the list so idk what you're talking about on that
Pun had the best natural multi syllable rhyme scheming I’ve ever heard. Top tier. But his body of work is too small to include him in the top 5. However, Capital Punishment is indeed a top 10 hip hop album all time.
He's ONlY talking about Hip-hop, though it's deliberately crafted that it can be interpreted AT FIRST as his ex wife or girlfriend but there were a few dead give-aways. When he said "jealous when I spend time with the girls", he means not only his daughter and niece but his wife too. He means his family. On my first listen I started to suspect it was a metaphor because even if their relationship was a little bit toxic, Kim didn't strike me as someone who'd be "jealous" that he's spending time with his kids. Then I said, "ok, maybe it's a girlfriend and not Kim" but I remember he said "go marry someone else and make em famous", so it elimated the possibility of being a girlfriend and brought me back to Kim which didn't make sense because of the previous bar. Also, Kim didn't make him famous, even if you want to stretch it, the idea by saying that she did metaphorically due the content Em has provided which includes Kim, it still wouldn't make sense because that line is used more where the public display of drama IS the reason why a celebrity is famous, which you'll see with more reality tv stars. And it couldn't be his mom Deb because of the "married" bar. No more than half way through the song, was like "Yo he's talking to the game". Also, the timeline matches because between Encore and Relapse Em was gone. He was battling his demons. Kanye and Wayne took over and the game had changed. This is him sitting back and saying, why should I come back to you. You're the reason why I'm going through all this shit and I can't even have a normal life with my "girls" without the world poking around asking "Where's Slim Shady" and saying "Em fell off.
I agree (To an extent) but would argue that it’s the listener making the connections / correlations to drugs / a girl as misdirection was never EM’s intent. He has even gone on record to state this track is solely about hip hop. We, as fans, are just so used to not taking things at face value when it comes to EM. If you didn’t know about Kim / drugs (or EMs abilities) this track would hit exactly as intended.
I think this song is very meaningful and deep. I appreciate you guys giving a real and genuine reaction to it. Keep it up.
We need more real content.
Eminem makes his rhymes very complex with the double meanings sometimes, and he’s always spitting stuff over peoples heads just because he’s so creative. I could listen to an Eminem song 1000 times, and the 1001 and I’ll still hear something new. However this one, is one of the few I never caught after being a Stan for almost 11 years now, I always thought it was about his ex but this definitely has a solid double meaning. Great catch guys. Love your work and keep on posting the great reactions!
Yeah this is one of my fav Em songs, it's a metaphor, hes using the comparison of his relationship with Kim and replacing her with hip hop, he makes her and the game interchangeable... similar to how Common did back in the 90's with "I used to love H.E.R"... a few emcees have done it before.
That one comes to mind along with kanyes homecoming, and tupacs me and my girlfriend
@@bluegordo860 Facts, songs where artists make that analogy between something and a female, usually great songs.
EM himself has gone on the record to state this song is only about hip hop. It’s the listener who considers it a double / misdirection / metaphor. That just goes to show how god of an artist EM truly is.
Yea been done now like 20times, cormega has fire track like that. But yea Common reason these songs exist
@@timothyomalley9202 facts i remember the Cormega song, that was a joint from YEARS ago... i remember thinking it was fire
you guys should check out psychopath killer eminem ft slaughterhouse.
Love that song
Yoooooo Em's verse is up there top 10 on this. Man I wish slaughterhouse woulda rolled on they were a force
@@dragonjegg82 ye just imagine how crazy their songs would have been
W
Love that track… I personally think that EM was the most technical and unstoppable. (Not to take anything away from early or current EM). There was something different about Slaughterhouse / Shady XV EM. Psychopath killer / Detroit vs Everybody / Vegas. (Even earlier- The track called offended from Recovery). I am sure there are more but those come to mind. His flow / lyricism was unreal and so far ahead of anyone, ever.
Track is a WHOLE DOUBLE. About Rap. Y’all got it.
It tells a story from different perspectives.. how his love for rap messes with his relationships and how his relationships mess with his love for rap and it feels like no matter what he does neither side feels like it has the slme.love for him as he does for it or them.. what a masterclass.
Now that u know its also about hip hop, go back and listen again. Its amazing
Eminem love you more..Eminem bad guy, Eminem groundhog day Eminem fine line, Eminem guts over fear , Eminem beautiful pain
Ok, Eminem Says "Stop D-Ridin His Name"
BAD GUY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Groundhog day is crazy 🔥
On fire- Recovery
As the name of the song says it's 🔥🔥
@@jeffreyaudino7503 no u
Great reaction guys! Love all the reactions y’all do. There are quite a few Em songs that he talks about addiction or hip-hop as a relationship he’s in. Especially on his later stuff
Hilarious, pure comedy while showing much respect to Eminem and your viewers.
You should definitely do Going through Changes and Never Over both off Recovery. Both dedicated to Proof.
He's referring to his relationship with Hip-Hop/Rap. He blew up when he turned "25", I think that's what he meant. So it's 25 to life as in to right now to forever. Also just found out, I thought he was talking about Kim. It's stuff like this he was talking about in the paul pod podcast, where he likes it when the listener thinks he's rapping about something when in actual fact he's painting a picture about something else
97 he was 25 that's when he dropped the ssep and got some recognizion and fame. So since 25 to life he's been sentenced to fame, he can't go out without getting noticed ever again.
@@jaaptendijk7192 couldn't have said it better
I seems to me🤔 em was talking about everything under the sun. Rap game! Kim! His kids! MTV! Everything about his life! All in one song! Every word mean every single part of his life in a nutshell! No difficulty! Em is so damn talented! I have not seen nobody that got a better pen game. This nigga blows my mind! Lost of words! I'm black and eminem is my #1favorite! No debate! Ain't nobody better!!
@@sasukehickson3390 actually yeah you're right, he was talking about all that. Great song. Not my top 5 in the album tho, but still a great song
@@Maxximum_ Em is super way hard to copycat. Mgk and the game tried their best to copycat. What a horrible job!🤣 They may sound like eminem but they can't rhythm and have simple complexity like eminem. All his songs he ever made! Make the listener think! It can be a silly song like fack🤣 Em have thousand different meanings in one song! It out of this world my friend on how shady think. Unbelievable!
Em's talking about both Kim & his marriage and Rap/Hip hop, the game & his work ethic at
the same time..
The realization at the end....priceless!! Loved it guys!!!!
Guys you have killed it, I'm not going to lie,I expected that you won't get it 😆 Glad you did tho! 😁
if you really pay close attention to some of Eminem songs He re-live's his past in which we think its hate and anger tower a relatioship or a girl but in fact a lot of his lyrics are base in his relationship with music and his adiction in the past with drugs and when you think about it from that perspective of him and his relationship with the music its his life work and its what literally got him out from his circumstances in which he was in.. and now that his close to the end of his carrer his puttin an ending! a great example of him speaking to his music is 25 to Life speaking about how he devoted his life to Rap and how he feels betrayed and taken for granted by this new generation.. and this has a double sense what he means with 25 to life is his 25 years of life given and sentence to the game which is rap .. another great song is Beautiful, space bound, not afraid.. etc.. but thats what makes Eminem a full artist!
“Your never over” is a song from recovery album , it’s about his best friend proof. It’s his dedication song to him. Well worth a reaction
Hook is awful.
@@gotredboxes it’s not to bad, he’s basically speaking to proof in the hook. Would like them to do a “difficult” reaction, but it’s deep and no hook atol
You want a real shocker - no spoilers, go in blind & listen to Darkness by Eminem. Many say it’s his best written track since Stan for the impact it has
The entire song is a double entendre. You just witnessed, once again, the greatness of Em’s lyricism.
Whole song is like a double or triple because he could be talking about a relationship, drug use or the rap industry.
you HAVE to do The Eminem show next. best album
If yall want more recovery, do Almost Famous. Crazy bars🤘🏻
As a person who was around 15 when Ems first CD came out, Ive been listening to him since basically day 1. Recovery IS his best work, outside of 2 tracks that dont fit on the CD.
Nice reaction and good job catching the true meaning behind the song. Would like to hear you guys check out some of his earlier stuff from Infinite like "Open Mic" and "313".
313 🔥
Just like "Darkness", the entire song is a double entendre. The majority of the song you think he's talking about Kim and then at the end he hits you with "fuck you hip hop" and you realize it was a double the entire time.
Definitely gotta listen to it again and keep in mind he is talking about hip hop and kim. Changes the whole song. His doubles are crazy. Appreciate the reaction.
THANK YOU for running it back and getting context from the new perspective that was givin. Most just pass and don’t go back. It’s a WHOLE different xperience once you know what he’s talking about. Just like Darkness.
It's crazy you never reacted to "cleaning out my closet" I think it will be interesting.
Man y’all gotta do Evil twin, Marshall Mathers off the mmlp
This is a double like Darkness, where if you know Em's story you're thinking the whole time he's rapping about Kim like usual, til the reveal. The whole song is a double, while rhyming like a beast and flowing with perfect delivery. Top tier Em right here. No one else can do this.
This song is so deep this is his love and hate relationship with hip hop he really shows his penmanship is excellence a true MC even if he gets hated on
Y’all gotta do the ending rap battles to 8 mile and rivers by Eminem
My personal favorite Eminem album track for track. Yall gotta do Going Through Changes, Seduction, and Almost Famous off this album.
Banger of a song. One of my favourites. You need to listen to going through changes off recovery. Listening from the 🇬🇧
3:40 the right guy's reactions to the one standing always send me XDDD he's such a moooood
He been a part of hip hop since 1997. That's 25 years. He's talking about his experience and relationship with the Industry..
He's talking about music. The whole song is about his relationship with the rap game. Its not about a girl he purposely made it seem that way to surprise the listener and at the end he reveals it by saying f u hiphop
Sometimes my favorite part of these videos is 2 things. 1) Love you all but it's hilarious to see dude in blue hat GO OFF on Eminem songs within the first 30 seconds of a song. Fucking love his reactions to stuff! 2) I love seeing dude in gray with the dreads is DEFINITELY the preacher of the group. He is always guaranteed to start preaching halfway through reactions. Love it. But dude is extremely knowledgeable FR.
MUCH LOVE!
I have been waiting on this 🤝🏻
React to Eminem bad guy . i have been requesting that song for a minute now .
and you can react to never love again and tragic endings if you liked the song darkness with that double meaning theme . Eminem is a genius
Can y’all do Killer remix, Survival or the real Slim Shady? Y’all need to check out Walkthrough with Grip and Eminem or Bang Remix with Eminem also
Even though this song was written about hip-hop this song saved my life no joke. I went through a very tough divorce where my girl left me. I ended up with insomnia and would stay up at night staring at the ceiling contemplating my suicide. I was at the end of my rope. When this record came out I listened to it here and there but really never gave it an in depth look. One night of sleeplessness and deep depression I put Recovery on and it stayed on for months straight. I listened to this song over and over and over again. I couldn’t get enough of it. I attribute a lot of getting out of that depression to this record and song especially. I started writing myself (very terrible at it) but it was cathartic.
Cause when Eminem raps he does it with Hunger & Passion it's like his gone beyond Rapping & just making a Statement yeah like Redman said when Eminem spits his making a Statement
The legit whole song is a double. Talking about his previous relationship and talking about what he gave Hip-Hop and what it did to him. 🤯
The whole damn song is a double 👌
Amazing song, have it as #7 on my list of all time eminem songs 🙌
Never love again. If y’all want to hear how incredible this man is. Check that sound out
If you like hearing Em rap with passion and from a hurt point of view, yall gotta do Space Bound next
While you're on the Recovery wave make sure you get to the best song on the album - Going Through Changes. It's a truly beautiful song and is equal with Cold Wind Blows as the best on the album IMO. Also Space Bound is a great song.
Love this song, glad you guys got to it.
🤣🤣🤣y’all tripping and I’m rolling🤪🥂always a pleasurable experience🙏🏻🔝🥰
Off of recovery you can react to almost famous , so bad , going through changes, you're never over , space Bound . The whole album is a masterpiece and do relapse after recovery
Nah homie on the right had it right. It sounds like he's talking about a girl but he's talking the game. Go back and listen again and you'll hear it. The whole songs a double
Recovery a classic album! Came out when in was in HS

Eminem spittin fire 🔥 ♥️ about his love for hip-hop and how much it was such a prison for him dealing with what came with it like love n hate for tryna make it big in rap n hip-hop.
Yo fam pls react to "so bad "or seduction" off of this recovery album it would be a awesome double reaction 💪but I know beggars can't be choosers🙏either way God bless y'all boys keep em coming!
You should react to D. Showw Monster Too he went insane!!
I went to check him out not gonna lie it impressed me, how did you find him?
Y'all been on an Em pop binge so I'm gonna request some hard shit. Y'all haven't done Say What You Say, Groundhog Day, Brainless, and Lock It Up I don't think. I'll leave the requests alone until I see some of these vids. Great job as always!
I love watching my sweet babies figure out the meaning of his songs by the end...yall have come so far!!❤❤❤
"Recovery" is one of his best albums (though "The Eminem Show" is my favorite), and this is one of the best songs on it. You guys, as always, did a great job...but that lyric video was full of errors.
Please react to Eminem - Never love again if you haven't already
25 to Life is about Hip-Hop and he much love he has for the game
My man all the way on the right is correct. Em is talking about the rap game in general throughout whole song. The end reveals this when he says “f you hip hop”. Now listen again with this perspective in mind. You’ll see it all differently.
Do Detroit vs everybody please. Flow crazy
Yet again for the must be 10th time I'm asking for you to do Eminem - Untouchable.
Under rated song
WE ALL FEEL THAT PASSION WHEN WE HEAR HIM! Completely feel ya!
The song spoke to hip hop and ofcourse Kim. Eminem is a master storyteller.

HAHAAHA Brandon’s face when Salo threw the chair 🤣🤣🤣
He talking about hip hop and Kim. 1 song with 2 meanings. This is why em is the best. He is a master of not only words their meanings.
He’s talking about his dedication to the game. The rap game. It’s a double. Makes you think it’s about Kim or someone. But all he time he’s rapping about his love for the rap game and how it’s messed him up and drained him. And he never gets the live he deserves
