Upstate NY, literally went pitch black, was in sodus bay NY most foreigners to New York clogged up the parks so we had to park on an old street where there was space, the frogs chirped like it was night. Same as the birds. Cloudy ash but wow. Absolutely mind blowing watching the shadow completely fall over the clouds and slowly sweep over us. Totality took a moment, once we fell under it was like I said pitch black except for the horizon… you could see the moons shadow slowly cast over, after the daylight came back it was so much quicker than when it set on. Absolutely surreal. Def traveling for the next one.
I went to Niagara Falls, NY that day. I wasn’t expecting how quick turned dark during totality. I was walking toward to Terrapin Point from parking lot 3 on trail and completed turn into dark, I stopped walk caused I barely see everything on land. It’s really dark as I shocked.

Well actually god didnt do this, the moon moved between Earth and the sun. The moon’s orbit, depending on how it is defined is between about 27 and 29 days long. But our moon’s orbit is tilted with respect to Earth’s orbit around the sun by about five degrees. the moon, itself, is only about ½ degree in width in the sky, about ½ the width of your pinky finger held at arm’s length. So, sometimes the moon misses too high and sometimes too low to cause a solar eclipse. Only when the sun, moon, and Earth line up close to the “line of nodes”, the imaginary line that represents the intersection of the orbital planes of the moon and Earth, can you have an eclipse.
@@crusaderknight6928 this is a natural event nothing to do with god and not an omen but something that is very special and rare that will happen in your life time

If you haven't experienced a solar eclipse yet, it doesn't really get as dark as it appears in the video. There are differences depending on where you stand in the strip where the shadow runs, but even in the most central point it is not as dark as in deep night. It's more like late twilight, when it's still a little light but the sun has already set. In the video, the exposure was simply readjusted to be able to see the corona around the sun. This also made the surroundings darker. It's like filming with your cell phone to the window and then tapping on the window, then you can see what's outside and everything inside gets darker. If you then tap on something in the interior, the view outside becomes so bright that you may not be able to see anything outside, but you can in the room.
