  • Its redemption time frackers. Our first attempt at the Mang Inasal Unli Rice Challenge is now our most popular video at the moment, almost reaching 500k, so in honor of that accomplishment, we are taking some of the tips we received from the comments to use the chicken oil, try their chicken and much more, to try to accomplish redemption. Not only do we try to break our previous record, but we also try their 2 versions of halo halo and give them a review. Thanks for watching!! The next video starts our Antipolo adventures!

    When I was a kid, I do remember my lola (grandma) would make those caramelized plantains for “saba con yelo which translates to plantain with ice” with brown sugar, tapioca boba, and pandan leaf.
    I think the after taste (tea like flavour) that you guys tasted from the plantains are the vanilla-like flavour of the pandan leaf.
    Pandan leaves are used in alot of Filipino desserts and pastries because of the vanilla like aroma and taste it can provide. Some people even cook their rice with pandan leaves to make the smell of the rice even better. The pandan leaves are put on top of the boiling rice while cooking when the water level is nearly dry or when rice is almost cooked.
    Brunch is on me as I just saw your new video of the red light district of Makati. That’s where I grew up. Our ancestral house is a 2-minute walk from the Filling Station.

      Filipina here - living in the Philippines since birth. Pandan plants have been growing all over our yard since decades ago - we even had to sell them once due to an overabundant supply (and bcoz Pandan seemed to have invaded the half of our big backyard!)
      Pandan leaves are actually placed into the pot prior to start of the rice cooking process. After the rice has been washed, and appropriate water has been added, the pandan leaves are introduced into the pot. Sometimes, the leaves are placed under the rice; most often these are placed in the midst of the rice pot - this is our style.
      Only then is the cooking pot placed into the stove and the fire started, or the rice cooker 'COOK' button is pressed.

    Very epic! by the way, you have to squeeze the lime in the soysauce. And please do not force yourself to eat lots of rice if you're no longer to handle it. The main reason of unli rice is a meal saver specially for students and workers. Just enjoy your meal without any pressure of number of rice that you ate. Take care!

    The reason why Filipinos powerful singing ability is the culture of how we eat our foods. It's not the water in the Philippines because we had the same water intake everywhere in the word but it's all about maybe we eat heavy meals all the time. And of course together with the culture of karaoke singing .. btw thank you for embracing Filipino cultures. You must eat the chicken using hands no fork it feels more exciting and tasty feeling.
    Omg i can eat only 2 cups of rice, i am so amaze with you guys. I saw how they scoop the rice 1 scoop looks doubled already... Omg seems like the counts of cups you ate are actually doubled.

      @ojousama0760 Před rokem

      I believe because we have karaoke at home 😆

    • @alphsno472
      @alphsno472 Před rokem

      @@anjaplushenka5995 a little true. But I've thought about it, it's just that we Filipinos love music to a much higher level, and our culture helps a lot for each Filipino individual to improve our talent when in comes to singing.
      Here are my observations as to why many Filipinos can sing.
      *Everyone is allowed to sing, from a tone deaf person to professional level type of singing, in our country people are allowed to sing. There's this thing in our culture where when there are karaoke session everyone is pressured to sing and you can't leave the party if you haven't sang yet. So even tone deaf people, shy individuals have no choice but to sing. And since karaoke is done all the time more and more people discover like younger children that they can actually sing, and doing karaoke improves the ability to sing. So some tone deaf might discover that they actually are not, that they just lack practice and confidence. And doing karaoke all the time improves the singing.
      *We are allowed to sing anytime, anywhere unless we are in some kind of a meeting. Heck, I even belt out when I'm washing the dishes, sweeping the yard outside, cleaning the house even when shopping groceries. I don't care if my neighbors hear me. They do it too. Hearing someone belting out a song out of nowhere is a common occurrence here.
      *We love playing music, and not just playing it, but blasting it through the speakers. I know it's irritating to some, but in our culture we do it. Sometimes two or three houses in the neighborhood would blast music through their speakers and they don't care. When we were young we'd be laughing, and say 'matira matibay'.,😆
      So to sum it up, if you grew up with that freedom when it comes to playing and singing music, then it's easy to say that more people would discover their talent in music. The difference with other countries, is that they are limited in hearing music cause they have restrictions when it comes to noises specially with neighbors reporting them. But if they have the same culture as us, then they'll probably discover that many of them can sing. Plus the frequent karaoke sessions, and playing the guitar while singing during blackouts is really a big help when it comes to practice.
      I apologize for the long reply, but those are my thoughts.

    Do a Filipino malling challenge (where we spend almost the whole day in the mall)!
    1. Breakfast/brunch upon its opening
    2. Wall around and do a little or window shopping to burn calories
    3. Lunch or merienda (afternoon tea or snack & coffee break)
    4. Get a haircut/facial/dental appointment
    5. Walk around some more or visit the arcade/bowling/ice skate
    6. Dinner
    7. Watch a movie
    8. Grocery shopping
    Glorietta+Greenbelt or Shanghai-La+Megamall would be perfect for this other than your usual SM North/Trinoma haunts.

    How about a part 3... You should have squeezed the calamansi (that small round green fruit) in a soy sauce to serve as your chicken dips...to enjoy the chicken more.

    Mang inasal is my most favorite restaurant so far, jollibee is next, then KFC.
    Umm.. i think it will taste better if you guys put chicken oil with your rice then add small portion of soysauce, that's so.. yummier
