I don't think he realises, but that scene is cemented in 'greatest comedy scenes ever' rubbing shoulders with dead parrots, some candles, various Blackadders and a few young ones to boot. The dancing scene in the nearly empty bar is up there too IMO.
Let’s be honest, if he didn’t want to be recognised he’d just have a trim. That hairstyle is iconically “Jay from the inbetweeners” and as long as he’s keeping it thats what he wants to be known as

Inbetweeners was one of the greatest comedy's of all time. The Office, Only fools and horses, IT Crowd, Inbetweeners, black adder, red dwarf. The best ever.
We were slightly late to Inbetweeners. One day I came home from work and my wife was distressed and she said that she was standing at her bus stop and a car wound down the window and shouted ‘bus wankers’ at them all. I had to pick myself off the floor from laughing. It was just about the silliest thing I’d ever heard. Some months later we got into Inbetweeners and then saw the origin of this story. Finally my wife was reassured!
@@UTK37 No, no, no. She was the 'victim' of someone mimicking the Inbetweeners scene months before we started watching it. Point is - it seemed genius to me even before we saw the show. I couldn't imagine a more thoroughly stupid and immature thing to shout - I laughed so much.
Can't disagree with that! Me and a mate were chatting about it the other day. We both agreed that while it was only a relatively short time ago such a programme just wouldn't fly on mainstream telly today. And then we got talking about Bo Selecta!, holy hell 😂
It blows away the American Pie series which was written from a J American perspective and not your average American. I feel inbetweeners is the most relatable to Americans as well and is one of the funniest things I’ve ever seen
The thing with the character of Jay, we all knew someone a bit similar to the others but we all knew someone exactly like Jay. Its literally an iconic, forever lasting character Ots the epitome of a teenage boys struggle with self image.
With in the same week of seeing bus wanker I went on a boat trip and screamed at the top of my lungs boat wankers to a passing boat my mum did not look happy until we all heard the whole boat laughing memory will live with me forever 😂

The inbetweeners was the greatest show to display teenage culture in Britain. Every single kid in England had a friend like Jay growing up. Simon used to make me cringe so much because so many of the things he did were similar to embarrassing things that happened to me as a kid.
Buckley and the team captured the energy of the millennials experience of college/sixth form and that transition faze from childhood through to adulthood. A true coming of age story. The Imbetweeners was brilliant - we all had a mate like Jay aswell. 😂
It's iconic now and set in stone. I'm 60 and to this day I can not look at people in a bus stop without the urge to shout it. It's up there with to me, to you, when moving furniture, or pivot with a sofa.
I like how it doesn't annoy him and he still loves that people know him from that show, not everyone is like this and they want to move on, he won't mind it in 50 years i bet.
I saw a lad leaving Tesco carrying a chicken in a bag. He was the spit of "Will". I shouted "Chicken wanker" and he actually laughed. Can't beat British humour.
