I'm not really sure what to tell people about the spawners. I hacked them manually, with NBTedit, which was hard and not even possible anymore with the new save format.

DBN: you know how fence blocks are taller than 1 block high?

DBN: by the way, animals that swim can only be drowned by being in a water source block that's against the ceiling
DBN: any other water block will let them breathe from the air gap at the top

DBN: if notch makes animals swim again, things get really tricky
DBN: there's no way to make a stream push an animal from a non-source block into a source block

You can even spawn Ghasts! I've been playing around with it... by changing the entityid to the monster name you can spawn pretty much anything (the slimes show up in the spawner but they never spawn...)
The audio alone is worth the thumbs up.
@XStorminTech You have to place the spawner before you can edit which entity it spawns. It becomes a TileEntity located in one of the numerous chunk files. Finding it is the hardest part. In the spawner's entry it will have a field with the mob's name as text. Pig, Sheep, Cow, Zombie, Creeper, Skeleton, Spider, etc. Before I post a tutorial I need to figure out how to use the player's F3 coordinates to find a chunk, which would make it much easier than the way I used. (gzip file sizes)
Since the save files changed, the method I used to edit the spawners doesn't work anymore. I'll have to look into new methods before I post a tutorial and I won't be able to play much Minecraft for several months anyways. Be sure to check out the diagrams in the description.
@XStorminTech Yeah I tried slimes too. The way I found the chunk was by getting the size of all of the chunks (uncompressed) and searching through all the largest ones after I'd placed a bunch of spawners. I've added a link to a tool I wrote to help with that in the bottom of the video description.
Put ice blocks under the water flows to make the items and animals flow twice as fast :D

so you used NBTedit to get the spawner... what's the id to get a spawner of a particular mob? If it isn't related with the ID, then how did you managed to get a mob that spawns a specific mob? Please Answer! =)
@SeizureDude Sure, you'd just need to make a much larger collector.

@DeathByNukes Meanwhile, i got it... all i did was placing a mob spawner on the exact place where you spawn, and then it's easy because the first chunks that are saved are from the spawn point, so by knowing that, i assumed that the first adress is 0 (it seperates it in folders). So I just opened the .dat file that was on saves / World5 / 0 / 0 / c.0.dat (being 0/0 the "adress" where the first chunks are saved) , changed the entity and it worked.
There could be an easier way though... =(
