From one writer to another: many of your jokes may seem predictable or lame to you because you wrote them and you’ve been seeing them over and over before the release. An audience member who is seeing it for the first time won’t have that bias and will just enjoy it for what it is.

I'm a piano player and the same thing happens to me when I write a song, play it a couple of times and than hate it.
Very true your always your greatest critic spotting flaws no one else would ever notice and hating what you make but others would love.
i see my acting as painfully mediocre and editing as scitsafrenic yet all i ever get is praise unless i outright fail at something.
It's ironic how those scenes were cut off since they weren't ''funny enough'', but the "Who parked their car on my sandwich?" Joke is more iconic than most of the scenes that actually made it into the final video
The best ones are the ones where it's really not possible to describe exactly why it's funny. The 'look at my new dog' one is a perfect example. If there had been no yelling, or the yelling was slightly different, or the animation for the yelling was different, the whole thing would just fall absolutely flat but somehow, it came out as one of the funniest sketches. Same with 'Oh.'
ASDF 11 is gonna be 0.03 seconds long and you have to astral project your consciousness 7 times into your neighbour's dreams to get trough the 72 layers of irony to understand the jokes

The trumpet joke is the best one out of all of them. The way the trumpet taps out a stiff faceless boy is one of the funniest things I had ever seen.

I actually find "screw gravity" sort of smoother than "fuck gravity". So in a mind of one meaningless viewer, you made the better choice.

Fun fact! I remember for a short time when I was younger, my mom banned me from quoting asdfmovie because I kept doing it over and over again. She only allowed the 6th one because she fell on the excuse that it was ‘too violent’ and asdfmovie6 was apparently the ‘clean’ one. To this day, the 6th episode in particular just feels different due to how much times I’ve rewatched it compared to the others
I still get a laugh out of the OG asdfmovie, inspired the HELL out of me to make CZcams cartoons. And it only got better and better.

I did a placement in a hotel in Lanzarote in 2013. The pay was crap so I signed up to the hotel's babysitting service for extra money because that paid €15 an hour. The first child I babysat was 12 and told me about asdf movie (or A S D F movie as he called it) and sang me the entire I Like Trains song. As someone who had heard of but never watched any of asdf movie it was a pretty bizarre experience.
