Guessing at the icons, the Manticore appears to have low defense, maxed out Rebel Alliance, slightly below average Shazaam, slightly above average combat, and average magic.
I love myself some ship with maxed out Shazaam, never know when that'll be useful

This game has such a beautiful design to it. Love the art and everything in the UI is just gorgeous! Perfect Color Scheme! I can't hear the sound but i hope it is as good as the other aesthetics.

I love the art style and color palette of this game! It's definitely cool to see more Jean Giraud/Moebius inspired art. I've been familiar with some of his work for a long time (like The 5th Element), but didn't actually know who he was until recently. Fun fact: the style of Studio Ghibli's unofficial first film (Nausicaa) was heavily inspired by Moebius. Also, some of the armor designs in Fabular remind me of those in Seven Deadly Sins, which is neat. Thanks for covering this one Splat, will definitely be picking it up!

I like how you use Moebius' real name instead of the pseudonym everyone knows. By the way, his work is well known here in france and belgium among people with an interest in "bande dessinée". He will always be one of the very best and he didn't only draw sci-fi stuff. He was a tremendously talented artist and that shows too in his realist drawings

Mix this game with Star Control and you have the perfect new Space Adventure! This is the perfect replacement for ship to ship combat in that game. Just build a deep RPG space game around that with SC2 and SC3 as the template. = Instant top tier classic.

Splattercat could you imagine The Death Star pulling out a planet sized dagger shanking a planet then moves forward just a bit more and there's just some guy on the PA system saying "Biiiiiiitchhh~" right before another arm from The Death Star rips off a chunk of the target planet's most mineral rich sector. I would LAUGH until I had abs.
This one looks amazing to me, definitely going in the wish list. I'm a skinflint so I might try and wait for a sale once it drops but I may not be able to wait.

I'm old and to me this reminds me a lot of Asteroids even though it's not really the same at all. I could probably put in a down payment on a house with how many quarters I pumped into arcades when I was younger. I loved arcades and arcade machines so much that I made my career in that field. I'm retired now but at one point I was the director of management for Nickelodeon Arcade Chain it was my first job in upper level management having worked my way up from assistant manager to general manager and eventually Director. A lot of good memories from games of all sorts back then...
One of the inspirations for the game was actually Asteroids itself. :) Oh, an Lunar Lander. We're old too. :D
Been following this game since you last covered it. Nice to see something about it.
I think I hurt myself with stress over Splattercat forgetting to equip that sunblade for ages, noticing he'd forgotten and lambasting himself over it then heading to a quest location without equipping it again, and then finally doing it but failing to also equip the +20% damage module.

This game looks sooo good, and I mean art and play style. I love the jousting with such inertia, it pushes positioning and planning to another very interesting level.
I'm also super glad to see art styles borrow/pay tribute to Jean Giraud, I was nodding so hard when you said he didn't get the attention he deserves.

The menus seem very static. Some minor movement would help a lot, like jester could be playing on his instrument, the others could jiggle a bit or anything really.
Once upon a spacetime is a really good catch-line.
I put almost three hours into the demo - it was a ton of fun.
My main concern is in 3 playthrughs I had a bunch of repeateded encounters, and the weapon variety wasnt high. Ill chalk it up to demo! Im looking forward to this
Apparently they're releasing an early access version in a few days that will have more variety, across weapons, enemies and miniquests/events
Flight of Nova really needs you to do a review, Splat! The game is finally out in EA, it is a solid, really unique game, but so far has just a handful of players. Hope you will take a look at it soon, you are like the Indie game Messiah!

'tea leaves' is thieves. Cocky slang is almost always simply the last word rhyms with the real word- so look at the context, and try to think of a word that makes sense and in a lot of cases its fairly obvious.

I get what he means- rather than under rated tho i'd say he is overlooked and quite obscure- very few people know them- even plenty of comic /manga readers wont know them.

It's a game where you and enemies move and slide around where you're supposed to time melee attacks to hit targets while avoiding their own swings at you, and they added damage on touch when you come in contact with enemies. These devs have no idea what's good for them.

If you play any more of this, Splat, I feel like when you charged your attack your ship flashed and that was the "perfect attack" that made your glaives fly around your ship, throwing 8 instead of 2 as indicated on the description. Could be wrong though.

@@FabularOnceuponaSpacetime I'm not gonna lie, I didn't even read it, I just sorta used the context clues to assume that's what was happening. I also assumed that the shadow clone jutsu ship was being left behind as the result of a perfect dodge and wasn't happening arbitrarily, but I guess I'll have to wait for release to find out :D I don't think Splat ever looked at a description long enough for me to even pause and read it. That's Splat though, you get used to it over the years lmao.

Yes Splat, time is the great HORROR. Oh NO! NEVER mention the zuckerberg-creatures abomination, a baby angel dies every time you do that! Luv the graphics. Space-knights a classic sci/fi sub-genre. Used to be a lot of that in the times of the classic pulp magazines.

I've played enough Path of Exile to know what the tooltip listings mean. If one isn't listed, it doesn't apply.
