Facts facts facts. I have been loving the game since day 1. It is soo fun, refreshing, the music and visuals are great, all the characters (maybe except jet 😂) are fun and easy to play. This first season has been amazing and like you said I really like how SE is communicating with us and listening to our feedback. I really hope the game keeps going in the right direction and one day it can come to other platforms so others can experience it.
Yea, I also saw they took our feedback, extended some of the modes, and made changes based on what we asked for. That right there already earned my respect. How many developers ask the community and adjust based on feedback? Only a handful. To be fair though, FF14 is run beautifully and always has been (after their minor hiccup, i can't forget that LMAO), so if they follow the same formula they do with that game, I think we have a lot to look forward to.
I know some want to see voice chat added. I'm personally someone who mutes all communication in games though, I try to stick to focusing to myself. They did say they are adding pings though, so you wont even need a mic. I'm SO hype for pings!

I feel like the game definitely, definitely has a lack of players. Waiting too long for matches AFTER they said they’d fix matchmaking? Idk… I know there are 70 servers but that’s not our fault. It contributes to a dwindling amount of people. It makes it really hard to want to continue for a lot of us. There’s also a lack of player variety. Like, when you actually get into games it’s usually the same people or at least 1-2 players are still getting into your matches over and over. I saw you in like 11 rank games in a row during lonestar
Foamstars is my favorite game of this year. i hate hearing it's a dying game or it sucks. The doom and gloom is the more vocal. it seems people who play the game like it but i never see fan art, i dont think Foamstars hock any community, it feels like no one cares. They don't even have a Discord
They need to push the motion controls! This game has no aim assist, and contrary to what the video says, aim assist would be useless in this game (short of having homing projectiles like one character). But when Square Enix doesn't advertise the gyro aim, you just have a Splatoon clone that everyone is only playing WITH STICKS! They seriously think this is going to be competitive when other shooters give stick-only players super aim assist? Maybe with the right tournament wins, the full feature set of the PS5 will be seen. We have no other game like this on the PS5. And this game is different enough from Splatoon to warrant its long existence.

All I remember is a tool tip that mentioned them on one of the loading screens, and that was literally it. Most players don’t even know they exist. I only found them because I was looking for them. Go on CZcams and watch the Foamstars videos. Most people are just playing with sticks.

I’m leaving a 2nd comment, I think you could’ve kept the AI point shorter and ended it when you said it’s easy to look over. While that’s true and it’s what most of us are doing, the reason most people who are completely against AI are boycotting it is because Square is using AI image generation from MidJourney, a company that’s facing a lawsuit for stealing imagery that’s used in their AI. So, them using it is a bad thing, and certainly isn’t used out of the goodness of their heart to “spend more time with their families.” It’s something the CEO of square wants to experiment with because he’s morally bankrupt

Yes, no problem! My channel is always about giving information. Was fun to make! Also, I don't think they are exclusive, you have to wait for the shop to rotate and you can purchase them separately. It's the same for character dances too!

I see your outlook on AI and how it can benefit those who are overworked. But on the flipside why couldn't they provide another artist(s) with a job? It just seems scummy when the game has such fantastic art direction and they decided to cut corners for art that could have potentially provided more of an identity for foamstars. They're Square Enix they have the resources.
I honestly don't have an answer for that, hah. I guess the main reason is the budget. There is a lot that goes into hiring someone, it's not just you have a job. No company can keep hiring whether it's gaming or not. The project will have a certain amount of money it can spend for it to run and pay its employees. From there, they need to stick with that until they make more money and try to improve the project. Again, I'm not sure, but I know the hiring process costs more than the employees they hire LMAO.
Even if didn’t use ai for the album covers, you really think they would out source it to some artist? They would just have someone do it in house. So in reality it’s making the devs jobs easier.
here's a thought Fortnite is a free game and its more expensive sure but you get currency for completing the Battle Pass. usually enough for the next Battle Pass. I'm sure there are some Passes that pay back very little but for the most part, you spend $20 on the pass and the game gives it back. it is possible to never spend money and just buy the pass on the free currency
I wouldn't necessarily call them "myths", if they are mostly true. 1. It released as a Playstation Exclusive Game. They might change it in August, if the game does well enough, but it is an exclusive now. Many formerly exclusive games later released on other platforms, but it was still right to call them 'Exclusive games' before. 2. It's the launch month and the it's a Ps Plus game and yet the game is struggelling with its population. 70 servers is a horrible decision, that only makes this worse. Even if they reduce it, it will be very difficult for the game to recover from the exodus of players. The entry barrier will be very high after this month with the game being B2P. The game might not be dead, but the signs are very clearly pointing in that direction, if we are honest. 3. True! But Foamstars will have to make the game F2P or change some other areas of the game massively with the launch on other platforms in August, otherwise it might be difficult to survive 2024 for the game. 4. Partly true, but the other paid games are either bigger names or simply better games, so they can easier get away with it. At least it is indeed only cosmetic. 5. True, but players are much more likely to buy cosmtics in bigger games. In Fortnite you know the skin will still be there in a year. Players will be much more skeptical to purchase microtransactions in smaller games, because you don't know if it is still around in a year. 6. I see your point, but at the same time the source of inspiration is pretty clear. The example games you mentioned are in some areas different, but they also have most things in common. So I wouldn't say "not the same whatsoever", but the term 'clone' could be a bit missleading. Really depends on peoples definition of the term 'clone'. If a clone is a nearly identical rip-off, like some of the semi-legal chinese versions of popular products, than Foamstars is clearly not a clone. If a clone is a game that took huge inspiration from a popular flagshipgame, which you can still see everywhere, but also has enough unique elements to creat a identity of their own, than Foamstars is a clone of Splatoon. 7. OOF shots fired at Helldivers 2 unjustifiably, so just so you know I have gotten over $50 of real life currency for FREE playing the game in the first 2 weeks. So Helldivers 2 is on a league of it's own. NO games will do that now a days
Plenty of games give currency or items for free, it's a way they can get you to pay for their stuff later. It's kind of like test-running their product. Usually, if they have currency or in-game items, they will give it to you just for playing. Speedstorm gave me over $60 for just ranking up and reaching collection levels. I don't think those days are dead and gone just yet, especially because it works, hah. If we like it, we definitely will pay after we run out of what had been given. Foamstars doesn't have currency though so their only option is giving items outright (similar to league of legends, even though they have currency). I think sooner or later Foamstars might bring currency in though, especially because players have been asking for it. However, whether currency/items are given for free or not, microtransactions are still just that you know? Paying for additional items or features that are not included in the base game. That's more or less the point I was making.
Definitely if it was any other game I would agree but I get the point. DSS wise don't forget that collection level is only based on constantly opening new things that takes also of resources that takes money if you were not coming for being a founding member. If not you have to pay your way to be able to be able to even obtain most the roster to be able to complete events for materials. Which will then increase your collection level slowly. Unlike HellDivers 2, I paid $40 for a triple A game, and have made like I said over $50 of currency, bought the premium Warebond (battle pass) and have been able to buy EVERY skin that has been in the shop for free. I can literally hop on right now and make 250-400 Super Credits in an hour if I grind it out. That I'd $2.50 to $4 an hour just for playing! Absolutely free and indefinitely@ We're not talking spend money to make money, not no one time thing... no literally whenever you want and put in the time you can grind out the real currency! Literally unheard of and honestly I do expect them to nerf the amount of SuperCredits we get because I have no idea how they will make more $$ with having such an efficient and generous method of making premium currency in the game. Sorry I just think they definitely deserve to be praised for being such a "for gamers by gamers" type of approach. Not only a $70 to $100 price tag it's supposed to have because that is the norm for new triple A games instead of only $40!! But a way to make infinite amounts of premium currency so I don't have to spend more and can spend my money on a game that does force me to pay up to have the full experience like Disney Speedstorm or Hawked... it is rare to see in 2024! Much love man, if I had expendable income I would definitely become a member! Yea, I wasn't saying microtransactions are bad, I think they are necessary to keep a game running. I was just saying other games have microtransactions and whether you decide to partake or not, it's still present (especially in love service). How devs run them is a different story entirely. 👀 I will say though, I had no clue hawked had that type of thing in their game. I played their beta and it didn't seem to have an option. Is it just cosmetic? Also, no problem man. Support comes in many different forms, watching and or commenting is just as good to me as being a member! I really hope servers are reduced to be by continent as it would naturally increase player levels for the adjusted servers.
