How on earth did that old Nash Statesman pass inspection. Cars of that age were on a separate chassis, so why did it break apart like a twig broken across someone's knee? The inspection should have tagged it was rotted right through and banned it. Racing & wrecking is supposed to be fun... Well it is, until some poor bastard has to get cut out of a folded up car & taken away on a covered up stretcher.
It's every-bodies business, if you want banger racing to continue that is. Generally the track marshalls in Holland are red-hot watching every impact and instantly putting up the red flag if a car is starting to break up. I was not intentionally dis-respecting anyone with my last comment. I was just making the point that perhaps the state of the car ought to have been detected before it raced. Whether the Nash had a proper chassis or was an early monocoque type it broke up in a way which could have meant a serious injury or death for the driver. I hope the driver of the Nash was not hurt.
3:25 - Flag-Marshall's roof collapsing under the weight of 'shale'. Irritating music spoils the video, so I turned it off. The roar and crunch of banger racing is the proper sound-track to this video.
Dat ding was echt niet te restaureren, geloof me. Dat ding heeft jaaaaaren in Zuid-Frankrijk gestaan en reed bagger, stuurde bagger en was zo rot als maar kan. Dat zie je alleen niet omdat er zo'n laag verf op zit, maar hij brak bij de eerste de beste tik al in tweeën, zoals je ziet. Moet je nagaan hoe verrot hij dan is.
That car was already rotten away. It was from the South of France, its stand there for years. Doesn't drove fine, steering was very bad. So it can't been rescued yet. Most of the cars they use in Bangerracing can't been rescued.
