CARDIACS June 17, 2024 BBC 6Music Radio Session, Maida Vale Marc Riley SETLIST: 0'00 [interview] 5'39: The Duck and Roger the Horse 9'50: Big Ship 15'21: [outro]
It's easy to say it's not Cardiacs without Tim, but his fingerprints are still all over the music even if he's not there to perform it. Even if they decided to write entirely new songs, his influence on the lot of them would be irresistible. I'm by no means a spiritual person but hearing them perform like this reminds me that music comes alive in the imagination of the people listening to it, and as long as there are people listening and performing this music, there'll always be a bit of Tim that lives on, and so Cardiacs deserve a new lease on life too.
Tim above all was a composer and as such left behind a body of work that stretches so much further than being a Cardiac. If you ever get to see Bic, Jon, Jim on stage doing the tunes, you get the picture is an ode to Tim so he feels very much present. Of cause without the prattling on for which i do miss him .
Wow this was so great, thank you so much for uploading this!!!! I was feeling not very good and coming across this put a tear in my eye and a huge smile on my face. I never thought they would perform again. BEST BAND EVAARRRR
All of the noise takes me to the outside where there's all Creations joining in celebrating happiness and joy All around the world, on land and in the sea (AND IN THE SEA)
The transition of Cardiacs from Tim to Jim seems seamless.
Very wonderful and quite laudatory
It's like a dream
I cannot wait to hear LSD. Brilliant as always, Jim and Co. Miss you too, Tim.

To hear those words broadcast live again after all this time: "Cardiacs live in session". Shivers!
Long live the Cardiacs!
Well, that's only bloomin' marvellous! Also, is that the most words I have ever heard Jim speak?
You beat me to my comment. I'm sure this must be a recorded utterances PB for Him. Who knew he talked?
Jim parades a toy
He sounds nothing like how I expected him to sound like
Mr Flower, he's bent on..... power
"Make me nice and neat, make me look a treat... hello 🙂"
Glorious

Oh the pain of being a stateside fan and not getting to see any of these shows in October.
Well, I jumped and managed to get a Glasgow ticket. So excited.

My kind of tranquility.
