This is SCARY how Samsung RUINED the zoom quality on the S22 Ultra with their software updates. 30x used to be fairly decent and perfectly usable in good lighting conditions, now it's an egregious watercolor painting full of noise
I actually think that the one that might have suffered with the update is the 30X zoom. Also, the dynamic range on the front facing camera at night. Thanks for watching the video and stay safe.

@@auberginesplashit's not underexposing it's using more natural colors as the s22 ultra's video looks bad as it look artificial, Samsung fixed the problem by making more natural colors, plus the s22 is a lot more shaky while the s24 ultra's stability was top notch
Yeh in daytime only. Night time video and camera s24U clears. And s24U is way better indoors. s22U softens everything up. It used to be better but they fucked it up with the updates.

I usually upgrade my phone every 2 years, opting for a high-end model from the previous generation due to cost considerations. I use it for social media, taking photos, and occasional videos.7

Thanks mate!! I really appreciate your support. To be honest, I really like everything about the S24 Ultra especially the flat display and battery life but I'm still not convinced about the cameras. I still think it was a mistake to go back to 5X optical zoom in detriment of the 10X optical zoom, which it wasn't perfect and therefore needed further improvements not being dropped. I also have the feeling that Samsung hasn't really mastered the 200MP sensor yet. Once again, thanks for your support. Stay safe.

I feel like after One UI 5, Samsung started to downgrade the zoom quality on the S22 Ultra, perhaps to encourage users to upgrade to newer phones. I have many 30x zoom pictures that used to look incredible on Android 12 and 13 when my phone was new, but now the quality is poor on the latest Android 14 version. Even in daylight, the quality is bad, and I see the same issue on your S22U (poor quality, artifacts). For anyone experiencing this problem, using a tripod seems to help a little. One strange thing (at least on my device) is that the quality is better at magnifications above 35x-40x than at 20x-30x. It seems there's another zoom algorithm at higher magnifications that produces better results.
2:45 look on the right, you can see the artifacts I'm talking about on the sign, it just doesn't look right. But when you zoom to 100x, the other algorithm does a better job and the picture is better than the one on S24U
You might be right. I've noticed that the dynamic range at night with the front facing camera on the S22 Ultra has suffered a little bit with the latest update and probably the 30X zoom as you mention but I might be wrong. @@adebayotimilehin2460it's actually amazing considering I have the exynos model and it's already 2 years old! I get around 7-8h SOT (from 100% to 5%) on 120Hz using social media apps, youtube and browsing on twitter. Keep in mind I did use the battery protect feature since day 1 (don't charge above 85% and I also didn't let the battery go below 15%). Maybe that's why the battery is still amazing 2 years later, I still get 1 full day of heavy usage. I also did turn off 5G, I'm using FHD+ resolution and I didn't set up my phone using smart switch since that can make everything buggy. Everything else is untouched
Thanks for the quality sharing, still own a S22Ultra with 512gb mem, tried to feel the ergonomy of s24 ultra by samsung shop but really didnt get the comfort of s22 ultra and thought s24 ultra will make my hands feel in pain too as much brick factor....hope samsung will change the language by design in s25 ultra if not will wait for honor x7 pro or vivos if they make good ergonomy by better periscope lens.....

Night mode on 3x is the only time the 24u really outdid the 22u. Maybe a good phone if you came from an old device but definitely not something that makes sense paying to upgrade from a 22

I have to say, you have some of if not the best comparison’s out here in CZcams land, second, this is what I was waiting for and like I’ve said to many people if you have the S22 ultra, keep it and wait for the 25 ultra out 26. You will most likely get a much better deal by trading in the 22 ultra for the 25 but let’s see if all the camera’s get upgrades like the ultra wide and 2nd zoom.

I recently upgraded from the Galaxy S10 Plus to the S24 Plus, and I must express my disappointment with the camera quality. The pictures taken with the S24 Plus appear overexposed, with colors resembling watercolors. Additionally, there is a noticeable bluish tint to the images. The 50MP pictures, in particular, seem to be poorly processed. I sincerely hope that Samsung will address this issue and release a fix as soon as possible.

11:32 parts is not shot by S24 Ultra. The S24 ultra 5X optical zoom in low light was stunning and shot perfectly
The 5X optical zoom on the S24 Ultra without night mode is very bad especially indoors, the worst I've seen in a Samsung phone.
@Soto-Tech2020 you must turn on the auto detection night mode the night mode zoom further in low light the s22 ultra can't
@wayez88 Mate, what are you talking about? As I told you before, normal zoom shots at night WITHOUT night mode ON are bad especially indoors like I've never ever seen on any Samsung phone before even mid rangers. You can only improve that by either improving the lighting conditions substantially or turning night mode ON. There is no such auto detection night..... to turn on.
@@Soto-Tech2020 when the camera turned on if there was a place in low light the detection will blink the night mode on
So the difference is around 5% in photos and about 15% in videos(night time). Nothing Samsung couldn’t fix with a software update but they instead made it worse.
Still sticking to my s22 ultra.

Hey, great video. Currently have a S24 Ultra and I am really enjoying using it. The battery on this thing is mind-blowing. I used to have the S22 Ultra but it was stolen when I went back to see family in Colombia (whoops), then I got the S23 Ultra, though I did sell the S23 Ultra as soon as the Pixel 8 Pro came out and now my wife has the Pixel phone. Phew. Too many phones.

You have to disable auto lens switching in low light in s22 ultra ...90 percent people don't do that ...
Once you do that the night shots become comparable to s24 ultra
