The Galaxy S22 Ultra was launched in 2022 and it is still a very compelling choice for many. It has a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor, an insane zoom camera system. The Galaxy S24 Ultra is the latest and greatest from Samsung. It has a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, which is the most powerful chipset in the market, a better camera system with equally capable zoom camera system. It's not worth of an upgrade. S22 Ultra is still a great phone. I have an S21 Ultra and even I won't upgrade. Maybe I'd get the S26 Ultra when Samsung stops Sa software support for the S21 Ultra.

Yeah I don't think it's worth an upgrade either. Both phones are just too similar design wise, hardware and software wise, camera wise (pictures and videos) etc. I have the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra and I'm not even going to think about upgrading my phone until the Samsung Galaxy S27 Ultra is released in 2027.
I have the s22 ultra, but I'll upgrade to the s25 ultra next year.
I heard s25 ultra gonna have an 1" main sensor.. a much needed upgrade.. I'm gonna upgrade to that phone too just for that upgrade 😁

I upgraded already from the S22 ultra to the S24 Ultra. Because of the battery not being that good, I was tired of the curved screen, specially when watching content in full screen and the speakers on the S24 Ultra sound a whole lot better. I'm satisfied with the S24 Ultra.

I noticed the lens's on your S22 Ultra are not clean. They're either scratched or have heavy finger prints on them. Perhaps having properly cleaned them might've given you some better results with some of those photos.

Not scratches.. it was handling 3 phones at once so.. fingerprints.. but I have cleaned before taking phones, otherwise photos would have had refraction of light

Yes in certain cases.. actually the s24 ultra struggles a little more comparatively at 100x compared to the s23 ultra or s22 ultra
You’re truly underrated. A very nice video and great infos on certain things. I think the same, S25 Ultra is probably gonna be the big upgrade. This one still looks way too similar to the S22 Ultra in almost everything

The S25 will look pretty much the same. It's about design language. Every galaxy phone looks similar. Try to differentiate an A54 from the S24 from one meter distance. Good luck!

Same here, have it since 2 months. Its still a great phone, even with the Exynos 2200 processor. Don't know why so many people critisize this.....looks like hyping commentary Exynos.

Hello! I have the s22u. I will wait and see what Xiaomi 14u looks like. I too think the upgrades from s22u to s24u aren't worth it.

Nice comparison! I preordered the 512gb S24U and after trading in my pristine S22U, the total cost after discounts and 3 years of Samsung Care+ is $713 USD. I'm still debating if I should cancel my pre-order before it ships.
IMO, the photos you took with the S22U surprisingly look better than those from the S24U. I think the 10x zoomed-in photos from the S24U look too soft and over-smoothened compared to those from the S22U. IMO, a native 10x zoom lens is better than digital cropped 10x 50mp images if you want true sharpness. My S22U (and battery) still works well, but it won't get the AI features, and I hate the curved screen because the S-pen rolls off the edges too easily while drawing.
Tough decision I need to make soon before it ships, because $713 is a good deal....
I'm not sure if what I'll say could help or not, but blv me every pictures the s22 ultra takes is definitely true to life than the s24ultra, I gave my s22ultra out to someone who needs a phone and got the s23ultra instead of letting the pre-order deals sway me cos i felt no matter the deal, samsung is cheating me as my s22ultra was super clean and well taken care of. If u type S22ultra vs S23ultra Vs s24 ultra camera comparison on CZcams, a guy did a very extensive comparison on it.
That been said the only issue u may be concerned about the s22ultra is batery life, if the battery on your phone is good, well keep it, if not just save money and get the s23 ultra instead, blv me the s23 ultra is a complete device and would get the AI features too! And oh the curve on the s23ultra is not obvious and not ass bad as that of the s22 ultra.

I traded in my S22 U for the S24U. My thoughts are, the colors on the screen on the S22 U are way more vivid than the S24U. The S24U though has better cameras, takes better photos and videos and has wayyyyy better battery, which was my complain with the s22U. I got $1000 for my S22U on trade in. Both phones are great, I just wanted a better battery.

I agree the colors on the s22 ultra is more realistic and better when the subject is human.. but in some scenarios I liked the slightly cooler tone of the S24 ultra.. S22 ultra is still a great phone IMO

I upgraded from S22 Ultra to S24 Ultra and it's a whole different phone. While the UI may be the same it's a whole new experience. The display is second to none. The processor is finally something to compete with Apple A Series. The AI is fun and useful. And did I mention the screen is next level and FLAT? YES FLAT! GOOD FLAT! I haven't been excited about Android in 6 or 7 years. The experience has been dull for a long time to me. The S24 Ultra lit the fire for me again. It is hands down the best single device you can own. And I'm saying this as a man that owns almost every piece of the Apple Ecosystem including iPhone 14 Pro Max. The S24 Ultra is my new daily driver and even replacing some of the workload from my iPads.

Love the review. I got my s24 ultra yesterday. Was going back n forth between it and my IPhone 15 Pro Max. So far I'm loving this phone but I'm not sure of I'll keep it or go back to my iPhone. Battery life on this 24 Ultra is amazing though.

Sounds like you're trying to justify the purchase. I've seen all the complaints regarding the camera on the official forum.
Totally depends on how your experiences were with the last phone ... Yes the flat display is what I want too and the much better battery life. But because the camera hardware isn't big change so I decided not to spend on upgrading this year.. next year I might upgrade if the camera changes are coming

You got my sub. This convinced me not to upgrade and wait for the S25 or Pixel 9 Pro. Samsung can never get the camera right.
Even me is eagerly waiting for the s25 ultra to arrive.. I have only few issues currently with the S22 ultra, blue tint, heating under slightly more load and comparatively weaker battery life

I think Samsung finally got the cameras right with the S24 series. I played around with the S24/S24+ and the improvements are definitely noticeable.
Too bad about that boxy design - I hate it.

That's great.. I know so many who don't like totally flat displays, I am somewhere in between sometimes I like the curve display sometimes I prefer a flat screen.. but sadly we can't have both😅
Without even watching the video... The answer is yes. I came from an S22 Ultra and now own the S24 Ultra. The newer Snapdragon is worth it alone.

Depends on how you look at the differences and what are your experiences with the last device.. but ya 8 gen 1 isn't the efficient one for sure

The s22 ultra lenses are scratched, it's hard to say it's worse since you won't get the best photos it can capture
No this phone is in pristine condition.. it's smudges .. I was handling 3 phones at once so.. photos takes after clearing the lenses. I thought no one would notice 😂
My S22 Ultra was great, not a single issue with it but my battery started to suck & my Carrier offered me $800 for it.
So I paid $400 for my 512g S24 Ultra & I'm super happy!
This phone reboots twice as fast as my 22 Ultra did. Doesn't seem like it on paper, but this 24 Ultra is heavy, which I love 🤟
