- For years I've been getting my suits made here. Getting a tailored (bespoke) suit in China is a tricky deal, the price can be good, but the quality usually isn't, after a lot of trial and error, I've finally found a tailor that has the right balance between price and quality, and I can fully recommend him...

$290 for a nice tailored suit... crap that's almost worth a visit just to get a few suits made.
In shanghai, you can get a decent suit made for $150
3:42 those drawing skills tough...
I randomly come back to these old videos and rewatch them, almost nostalgia at this point. Really wish I could go there someday and get my own suit done. Without Winston I'd never even consider wearing a suit, just never felt like I fit in one.
Back in 2017 my cousin recommended me to him when I was getting ready for my first job in Shenzhen. Early this month, I visited him again for another best man suit and saw the slightly faded post on the door so I come here to say hi.
Moral of the story: You don't need a million dollars to look like a millionaire.
I ordered a suit last week from here base on the recommendation in your previous video. I picked it up yesterday and noticed the new picture outside! Awesome to see that you still come here. I paid 900 RMB for a suit+pants+shirt and they all turned out great. Couldn't be happier!
Richie Zeng hi, i know you wrote this a year ago but i have some questions i hope you might be able to answer. How long did it take to get measured and have the suits ready? Do you need to know chinese to go here or he know enough English? Thanks
Did they overseas credit card? Specifically Visa
罗湖商业城的裁缝确实很不错。价格便宜,质量好。
Winston you're spot on for this topic. There are many tailors in China, but finding one that offers good service, price and consistent is difficult. A lot if these guys just have the store front to take orders but don't do any of the actual work themselves and that's where things goes wrong. If you find a "good" Chinese supplier (suits or anything), stick with them as it is rare.
I watch your suit videos again every so often, they really hold up. I don't think you can make too many.
I think it would be cool if you could film them cutting and sewing a suit, yours preferably, to show how it fits, what the pieces need to be. it could be a 4 part series. measurements in the store. cutting, the piecing together and fitting, and the constructing.
I'll make a follow up of me trying on the new suit when its done and see what I can do
He looks like a nice dude. Glad there are people like him.
Awesome video really helped will be going to Guangzhou for for a friends birthday and thought ill get myself some suits
Just found this video. Thanks for the recommendation. Your instructions for how to find him are very clear. It is very hard to get a well made suit in the US for a reasonable price. I will definitely look for him the next time I return to Hong Kong. Thanks. 🙂😎
that picture on the end sealed the great video! Haha that was awesome :)!
Coooool now I know where Serpentza makes his suits!
Thanks for sharing the good info, posting the name and address and everything.
Just true...nice place, very friendly, good quality and fair prices...that's for sure.. went there a week ago
Great, I will go there next time I'm in Shenzhen. Thanks for the tip.
totally gonna get my dad a suit here....Shenzhener learning Shenzhen from your video!
Hi Winston. Video suggestions for you to consider: How to open a bank acc in HK. How to get a visa to live in China opening a "representative office"of an overseas company.
+Relax Hall Português okay, I'll see what I can do
Please consider above question again. hk acc to be particular.
2 and a quarter. Nice price and very nice suit. By the way, Winston, your wife is beautiful and thanks, as always for the video, my awesome friend.
awesome! next time I visit hongkong/shenzen i'll definitely give it a try
I just went and made a purchase thanks for the info.
The owner of the store seems to be a very AWESOME person hahaha, greetings from Chile bro! Stay awesome ;)
As I seem to be watching your videos out of any kind of chronological order, the way I tell how recent each video is, is by Sasha’s introduction. She now clearly says video so I know this to be in the last couple of years 👍🏻
There is a publishing date listed on all videos.
was in Hongkong last week, and choose to go to Shenzen to buy my suit at this shop, will return in april to pick up my suit, can't wait... i believe it will be nice.
Full canvas or half?
Thanks Winston! I am the new principal of the Shenzhen American International School in Shekou. I followed your directions (very easy), located the shop, and went to work. 2 suits and 2 custom shirts for less than a decent off-the-rack suit in the States.
+Darin Schmidt glad mate, he's a good bloke that tailor
Your sign is still up. Still says China's most awesome tail :-)
I will definitely give it a try.
When I'm in Shenzhen, I will order some suits at this shop.
that's so awesome that you did a video for your friend the tailor, he seems very happy to have you andnyour subscribers as customers. i am sure it is very hard to find a good and honest buisness man of any kind. i lived in Korea and it was the same thing there. love that camera, at 1:40 you can really see how vibrant it is. I'm looking at your videos on my Samsung tablet with the Amoled screen and it's just awesome! wish that dang camera was cheaper though. been with you for about two years or more, keep up the good work!
That was the G7X, it's quite cheap now :)
serpentza oh, so it isnt the one i asked you about 2 video's ago?
is it the Mark II?
Mark I I use two different cameras, actually in this video I used 3 ;) but that footage you pointed out was the G7X, if you want to see what it can do, all of my Japan and USA videos were shot exclusively on the G7X
youv‘e done a similar video 4 or 5 years ago when i just found out your channel. I saw you lived in a tall building that closed to the border to HK, that's the place where all these begin. you shared beer with the homeless when u also have nothing with you, then you found ur job, then again you moved to a "village" in Buji布吉, start riding ur bicycle and got urself married and divorced. ....Now you have a new goal, a love one and some troubles with the internet trolls. what is next, many of us care to know.
Two years ago i finished study and come to shenzhen from berlin, we never met but i always feel that u r an old friend in town. stay awesome
+Tony Montana awesome! Thank you for following my adventure so far!
Just looking at this vid now and will check out that tailor later this month. Good to know a good tailor, like yourself I tried another tailor in louhou market and the sizing was poor. When buying your first suit from this tailor how many times did you need to go back to get the sizing correct
This is great, thankyou.
Damn dude! I feel like coming to China to have a few suits made for me! Ive always wanted to wear suits and ive lost alot of weight recently so when I hot my goal weight Iam going to start buying some and they are WAY more expensive here in the states. If your LUCKY, you can get one of the Jos. A Bank sales where its buy one get one free but thats on a moderately expensive suit thats not very well made. To get a nice suit like yours would cost(the 1500rmb one) would be atleast $500 if not $1000. A wedding tuxedo regularly goes for over 1k.
Iam just thinking, I could spend like 2000rmb on their NICEST suit and it would cost me like $300, TOPS! Man, China sounding better by the second haha. Thanks again Winston!
Had one in China, he was great too. Copied some English designer coats for my mom in awesome quality.
In Shanghai actually
Thanks for the tip. Luohu is my first stop coming in from Hong Kong (obviously). How's the English situation? Should I bring a friend who speaks Cantonese/Mandarin, or would I be OK on my own? BTW: Try the Lee Yuen restaurant one floor down. I love their dumplings and spring rolls.
The cheapest I know in Ben Thanh market vietnam is USD40+ per suit, they only make in 6hrs and have it delivered to your hotel,I'd recommend that
Now that the secret is out of the bag, so to speak, I have to stand behind a billion Chinese to get my perfect suit!
A great video. Hope he gets a lot of new business from this.
Thats right kind of you Winston to ad for him out of love of his work. hope he appreciates it. Its sad that a normal hard worker stands out because others are so bad. Good on him. Hope he has more work than he knows what to do with :)
Stay awesome mr tailor man! :)
nice video and Instruction!
Winston, I was going to tell you about MY trailer, who is the best in Shenzhen. I was so glad to see you also use MY trailer. He is just awesome.
80k congratulations!!
Thanks mate!
I often heard that the shirts and suits I ordered in HK were made in SZ shops and brought back to HK. I guess I need to give it a go next time I visit. My HK tailor does US tour once a year tho.
Great video! It's really hard to look for good tailors not just in China.. but everywhere in the world without them ripping you off! Thanks for sharing! Just also want to ask Does he do alterations? I have a few dresses I want to get a better fit on? If not, do you know any good ones? Thanks in advance :)
even a Chinese like me live in Shenzhen for 16 years don't know this place, 😊 thank you for your V-log
Good video, I like your attitude and openness, mentioned about beer girl honestly and
your newly wed wife, waiting for you US trip plan. you will be back to LA at the end of your
trip. I might be able to meet you .
This video is much too short! What's this guy's story? What is it that makes it so hard to find a good honest businessman in China and why is this guy so different from the crowd of shoddy practices, surely there must be more than just him? Can he make suits via mail order? What's that piece of paper you are holding in your hand? I suppose it's the specifications/'blueprint' for the suit, where did you get it made and where can we go to get that made other than the tailor himself?
I agree more bio for the tailor. I think he deserves it.
I agree more bio for the tailor. I think he deserves it.
He's been making suits for 35 years, hasn't every tried to cheat me, if I wasn't happy with something he fixed it right away without any issues
Nothing, I make the video because I think he does a good job and I want to recommend him to my friends and subscribers, how much do you get paid to make underhanded comments?
this comment is very inappropriate when someone makes such an effort to help you make your vids better.
Awesome I need to get me one of those and I can't believe some people are paying massive amounts of money for a suit.
I'd like to see a video about suits.
The materials
Cashmere
Wool
Silk
Mohair
The styles
Whats the difference between a good suit and a bad suit?
I'd love to see a very in-depth documentary on suits. 🙂👍
What to look for and what to avoid?
Great video, but I have one question regarding the tailor. How long does it take to get a suit made? I'll be in China for a year and I'm thinking of going on a weekend trip to Shenzhen. Would that be enough time to get a tailor made suit from that place or would I need to stay for a week?
+AdventureThroughLife about a week, but he can ship it to you
Ever heard about W.W Chan and Sons before( in Shanghai and Hong kong). They are probably the best tailor in China but they are quite expensive though, starts around 1500usd.
i am pretty sure i seen the old version of this video, but i like this off topics. What if we need suits? or What if we need gas? These little things are very helpful in traveling.
Winston, for that 1500 rmb you mentioned... what fabric do they use for the jacket lining ? Because if it's polyester lining you can't possibly wear it in the tropics
Does the tailor speak English? I oftern find it hard to communicate exactly what I want. Thanks in advance!
Hi , your videos have been very informative. And I would like you know what procedures do I have to do in order to start a business in Shenzhen ?.
Interesting video. Can this guy you do suits in a short timeframe? Also how many fittings would be necessary?
I'm about to order though my concern is if they are a true bespoke company? Or do they order templates ect from a factory? I know you mention they get the fabric onthat floor ect? but have you seen him cut it up in the shop ect?
Typically these places have a large database in a factory - print out the design, do small alterations. Hey presto - suitio.
Amazing talent how he can draw up a suit so fast.
Can they do it faster than 10 days? I think most tourists don't stay long enough including myself. Is 5 days possible or can I just roll the dice and have it shipped out?
Winston you always look sharp, very inspirational! :)
armweak13 He watched one too many episodes of
'How I meet your mother'
Thanks mate!
your risk failure video is awesome. I like it, I know I need to do it, someday I will work up the nerve to do it. And win or lose, I will thank you for letting me know it is possible.
Awesome mate, we only have one shot at life, don't end up regretting something you never did!
is that a shop were you have to be there in person to order? can you order if you have dimensions of size and ship overseas?
Where to buy the best/fanciest shoes to accompany the suit? Can you get custom made shoes of your own design for example? Would be very interesting to see a video about that.
Never go to China without shoes if you can find anything over 43 in the shops, your lucky. I had one pair last a day most of it sitting down. I did fly back in them as I leave as many pairs there as possible and did not like them. But they went straight in the bin. Not even good enough for the garden.
He was asking for a cordwainer, not a shoe shop.
Do you know if there's a place for ladies to get quality formal dresses made other than your tailor?
Can you speak more about the suiting? (Cloth) where Is it from? Is it super 110's or 180's
Cool, 这个裁缝很棒。我去也回想买
shanghai has a lot of tailor stores in xiaonanmen, which specifically customize suits (jacket and trousers) for really reasonable price, I got one last year and only paid 700rmb. ppl live in shanghai should go and get one.
btw. here inshanghai, tailor may give you a ipad , and you canchoose whatever style, colour...you like in the app. haha tailor+ tech
Do you know if they post to Australia? If we get fitted there, as we won't be there for 10 days.
I been there a few times but never got the chance to go to his shop, will stop over next time for sure !! xie xie
Just got two suits two shirts and a vest made at this tailor and he's worth every penny! Did it quickly and they fit perfectly, didn't have to change a thing. 10/10 would buy again
how many days did it take?
On his other video it took 10 days
Is that tailor swift?
How can I buy? Send my size specs and a video of the suit I want to this guy. I'm in USA
4:14 "China's Most Awesome Tail" is even funnier in connection to the fact that in some cultures thumb-up means up-your-butt. 😆 (Although I guess the internet has well-overwritten that interpretation by now.)
+serpentza Can this tailor mail the suits overseas? I'm heading to Shenzhen but I'll only be there for 3 days... Oh and what time does he open? Thanks in advance.
i m in china right now and going to shenzhen on the 15th, i just wondering how fast he can make a tailored suit since i am only there for about 3 days then i head to taiwan, although i will be back in shenzhen for about a 6 hours before departing again, i dont think i will have enough time to go to lou hu and then to the train station in time from the airpot
serpentza, Do you have a Facebook page? If so what is it under? Ooops just saw it in the description, I will definitely recommend your videos to my online friends. I usually travel to Cambodia and Thailand, but make a stop in China every now and then. Maybe I can have a beer with you one of these days?
+Lord Feff cool, glad you checked the description :)
You didn't show the inside of the suit jacket and pants? Hows the lining? Pockets? etc....
Thank for sharing! Is it possible to get a ballpark price though? I understand it all depends on the materials, style, etc., but is it like a few hundreds USD or like 1-2k?
around 180usd for a reasonable suit
@serpentza what do you usually wear... fused, half canvass or full canvass?
Bro, nice suit that only costs couple thousands RMB is absolutely absurd in China. It at least cost more or less than10 grands Yuan. How did you get that price???
Can you order from this guy online?
Are there any really good (trustworthy) tailors in Beijing that could create a wedding dress? Anyone have any recommendations?
If you ever visit Russia, music you should check out are a artist named Zodiak and a band called Alyans or Alliance, really good music and it perfectly suits your videos. If you ever get online I highly recommend Zodiak's song Zodiak and Alyans' songs Dreams, At Dawn or White City.
Joey Enochs Know of any taylors in Russia (preferably Moscow or Peter)
Wish I could tell you, but Russia men and women alike spend a great amount of time on appearance. So if you discover a tailor... He will probably be experienced.
Just made a trip here to get a suit was very nice. I was talking to other foreigners about talking down the price but because of the good reviews here I went with regular price.
Makes mr feel guilty talking them down. Other tailors I dont feel guilty about though. Rushed jobs are also bad jobs and I fear they will cut corners. Someone I saw was talking down a tailor for wool down to 600 rmb... that's the price of polyester.... I wonder about the quality...the shirt fabrics are also really nice. Brand names are not worth it. Material and quality > brands.
I might get something done elsewhere to test them out but. I'm happy with this place.
I would travel to china for that suit tailor. Hes good
like your video very much, I am a lecturer working in South Africa, like you in China.
Awesome!
Can you recommend a tailor for a suit in Hong Kong?
Would this guy be able to make a suit with organic linen or organic hemp fabric???
Hi Winston, how long does it take for the suit to be ready after you order it? I’m going to China next year for about 2 weeks and I would like to get a suit made by this guy. I want to know if I will have enough time.
Less than a week
Awesome thanks!
Looking very sharp 🐍🇿🇦
Any recommendation for a good tailor in Guangzhou?
IDK,maybe your stance or you didnt button up the jacket but there appears to be some neck gap in that suit you have. Cant speak for the mainland but I had a suit made made in HK (b4 the the British left) by a old tailor who trained in England. Suit lasted years until I lost the battle of the bulge!
Hello! May I ask how the price nowsadays?
Next month i will visit over there and i will use your name sir ahaha thats awesome ...
When you said "use your name", I was imagining you going there: "Hello, it is me again, Winston Sterzel." 😄
" ... Don't recognize me? That is because I am not wearing one of your suits. Let me open my wallet and show you some templates."
Hi Serpentza, I was just curious what the address is or if they have an email?
I would like to send my sizes and ask him to ship to the UK if possible?
I’ll try find the address and post it
Have the prices changed, since your last video? Is it still about 1500 RMB for jacket, shirt and 2 pants? Do you recommend taking some "light summer" fabric for Shenzhen or what is your preference?
+Demovitron if you mention my name you'll get a jacket and pants for under 800rmb, and yes lighter fabric is key
Cool, thanks man. Looking forward to more of your videos.
Just an idea, but I would love to order a suit from this tailor, but don't have the time to travel there. I know you are going all in on full time CZcams, but it would be great if you could develop a method for other guys to order a suit online. I've looked into ordering before from Hong Kong but ended up feeling uncomfortable with the websites I looked at. There are places that will measure in the USA and have suit made in China, but they are too exspensive and their offices are also hard for alot of people to get to.
Yes, I agree heartily.
I work with a tall man, 6'-10" (208 cm), for him, buying clothing is a real problem. We are not in the big city. To be able to source, made-to-measure clothing from China, for a reasonable cost, from an honest merchant, would certainly be wonderful for him.
I agree, I would love to have a suit from here, even if it's not a full canvas.
Also, I need a dress uniform made and wondered if they can do that too?
is possible to get suits done for women?
do they do online orders?
I think you should try to some suits that aren't black, and add some color to your ties.
+mrtodd3620 I tried dark blue, it's not bad
