  • I have seen people making a crossbow from bamboo but living in the city, it’s easier to find PVC pipes, so I decided to use an PVC as limb or prods of my new home made mini Chu-Ku-Nu repeating crossbow. In my previous video, I showed how I made Homemade pistol crossbow bolts but for the time being, not with broadhead. I like testing whether they are safe to use but not for sale.
In this video I also show how I made crossbow trigger mechanism which was working great. I have also made it easy to upgrade the limbs. I build it to last so no hot glue or cardboard is used in this project. Actually it's not a cardboard or plywood crossbow but its stock is made of pine wood. This is a self cocking repeating crossbow with 7 bolt magazine, and although it is smaller this new pistol crossbow has better power-to-size ratio. The ancient Chinese Chu Ku Nu was not originally built for accuracy but for speed shooting though not as effective as Joerg's bow design of instance Legolas and in my case, only for fun shooting.
I have also watched people make a pistol crossbow opted primarily for an easy to disassemble design with reduced size and weight for better handling and concealability as well as storage with inspiration from the pistol crossbow design from the movie punisher: war zone.

Quick tip: coat the wood before assembly, this makes it less likely to stick to itself if you are using polyurethane or other sealants that can cause it to be unable to move.

The crossbow went together quickly and the general fit and finish is a bit above what I expected for the price. czcams.com/users/postUgkx5B43Qabqt1HedUJyfEqxiwBCfaooIH52 The adjustable stock is a little loose. I had an issue when I tried to cock the bow for the first time with the safety on. The string set in the trap box, held just enough to build up enough tension to rip the string out of my hands when it let go. No significant damage was done, and once I got it sighted in, I wrecked a couple bolts by sending one straight down the shaft of the first. I'm holding ~2" groups at around 50 yards, and I'm not an expert by any means. Best part is that they supply all the replacements parts you may ever need

the limp position is in wrong position, presurering the cable too much from moving forward, making it less power when shooting..

I agree there's a trade off in this design. Modern repeating crossbow are more efficient.

@@backyard.craftsman different betwen a bow and a xbow is that you can store the enegrgy in a xbow but not in a bow, so therefore this is a bow. So call it what u want, but NOT a crossbow.
