Very gracefully conducted interview. And this man is more than a legend. He is a revolutionary in the art of film making and a thinker. In a sense most of his movies reflect his thoughts on society , his attitude towards life in general. He doesn’t mind losing a fortune by making a good movie even at the risk of losing it. He doesn’t cater to the masses or the front benches alone. It’s alarming that his choice of movies hasn’t changed over time and he still remains a legend. It’s easier to make a career In movies by going the Rajnikant way and next to impossible to make a career by going the Kamal Haasan way and remain unscathed for over 60 years.

Cinema has changed a lot over the past few years, but one thing that binds the new generation of people who work in front of and behind the cameras (directors, technicians, et al) with seasoned warriors such as Kamal Hassan is their love for the moving pictures.
Not all actors get that Jackpot of sharing the screen space with Kamal Haasan. Prabhudeva, Abbas, Jayasuriya, Suriya, and Vijay Sethupathi. While Vikram 1, (1986) was a testament to the then bollywood biggies; Dimple and Amjad, Vikram 2 brings in the current hot cakes of south; Fahad , Vijay Sethupathi, and of course, Suriya.
Fans of Rajinikanth and other actors ridicule and troll his movies for Box office collections when a crap movie like Chennai Express or Simmba rakes in a lot of money, they ultimately fail to understand what Kamal did in his previous films where almost all of the films released in 70s and 80s were huge BB.
Legends don't argue or look for numbers, they scale newer heights.
