The group felt very strong about the song so "Whistle" was eventually released. The song eventually won a music show award in thirteen days, setting a record for shortest time to music win after a debut. Imagine the confidence to debut this song as your introduction to the whole wide world especially if others, more experienced managers, were against it. Interestingly, if you you consider this as Blackpink's first musical work, then their first words, to the world, were spoken in English and not in their native Korean.
