I started lucid dreaming as a teen and really learned to control it in my twenties. My technique is to lay in bed and imagine what and who I want to dream about. After falling asleep I start doing some reality testing as things start to seem off. There are very surreal moments and gaps in logic and time in your dreams that if you pay attention will alert you to the fact that you are dreaming pretty quickly.
The moment I realize I am dreaming is always exciting because it feels like you move from being a character in a story to the author of your own story. I have gotten to the point that I can change my location instantly, change the people I am with, and essentially do anything I like. The one thing I always do is fly because flying in your dreams feels amazing, especially when you have full control over it. I've also spent a lot of time talking with friends and relatives that have passed. It's odd because I know it's my own memories of them, but we tend to talk about the fact that they are dead in my dreams. It tends to feel like I am visiting these friends and family members at moments in the past when they were still living, but they and I have full knowledge of their future deaths and the fact that we are currently in a dream.
The only downside is that there are moments in my dreams when my control lapses or my memory of the fact that I am dreaming lapses and those moments are intensely frustrating and almost overwhelming as I try to regain control. It's like reality and the dream are fighting for control of my mind and my mind is stuck in the middle going momentarily mad.

I had some weird dreams:
a) I was trying to fall asleep and I got very tired and bored. I started moving my tongue along my teeth and everything felt normal until I realised that I as a human don't have carnassials!
b) I heard someone walking in my flat, but I was still not really awake and struggled to wake up. The steps came closer, my bedroom door opened and he approached me and then bang I was awake and realised that all this was just a dream!
c) I dreamed of being a peasant somewhere far away. I saw so many details like my attire (which I would never wear) or the landscape. I heard kids crying and started looking for them. I walked past a dried out river bed and the rusty remains of a BMP-2 and then spotted the kids. They were standing on rocks as if they were playing the floor-is-lava-game. Then I spotted a rusty wire at ankle height and not far from it a rusty metal disk partially uncovered presumably by heavy rain....

I love being a lucid dreamer. Honestly I started controlling my dreams when I watched an episode of ozzy and drix when they told hector he could control his dream by just thinking about it. Ever since then I’ve been able to control my dreams. Thank you childhood cartoon 😂

Same for me I had one like 4 years ago but I had only 4 nightmares and I had 2 in the same week last month by that was weird. My nightmare was that I woke up, I looked for everyone, even my puppy, and they were gone, I freaked out so I looked outside and I saw Slenderman!!! Then I went to go back to sleep but then he was in my room? So I walk outside and get trapped and woke up
Sadly it feels that I always have nitemares

I once knew that i was dreaming and someone is chasing me so i keep running but everytime i reach the end i keep coming back to the start and hear him again and he will chase me again and i will run again and reach the end and came back and repeat i was like respawning and respawning i just want to wake up

I had an awesome dream last night. It was life but freemode and I knew I was dreaming. I live near Vancouver BC. I could fly and I went all around the Gulf islands and during I would go high up in the air and stop flying and drop like sky diving and then start flying again. I'm scared of heights. I knew I was dreaming but had so much fun in my dream. I woke up and tried getting back to sleep to be there but it didn't happen.

I quit smoking weed and now my dreams, for whatever reason, are totally controllable. I don't know what happened, but I can't wait to go to sleep now. Whenever I'm sleeping I can just invent whatever reality I want and live in it for 8 hours. It's something I've never experienced before but it's awesome.

John Duncan I actually read somewhere that weed can cause you not to remember dreams so that can be a down side to it since infigraphics said not remembering dreams can be associated with other bad things.
Ive been able to control my dreams, usually i use them to fly. One time i had so much control and time that i started to create buildings and fly over them. That one i had almost full control, it was the best one yet

my dreams were DETAILED CRISP...SO REAL that I had to ask myself during the day & while I dreamed "is this a dream?" which would trigger FULL control of the dream as an answer. made reality kinda depressing 😁

this happened to me.
I dreamt of something and then switched to another without knowing. I soon dreamt of a different one I remember experiencing a few weeks ago. However I was controlling it and I knew it. I figured it was day by now so I just looked back and I woke up.
Once when I was younger well not once it happens multiple times I have dreams of like lines and scribble and I was crying and I was scared

I used to control my dreams whenever I had a nightmare when the scary part would come I would change the dreams course. As I got older I started to get curious what would happen during scary dreams I feel like I’ve lost the ability to change dreams now.
I used to do the same thing! Wish I could still control my dreams, now I can't even remember half of them :'D
