    Stu you are THE MAN. I have been watching your content for a month or so now, everything just seems to click. I started with your grip guide which has helped my game, then the downward pressure through the handle down from the shoulders, better strike and my first ever divots. Recently saw your video on chipping/pitching where you keep the handle "still" and swing the clubhead for loft at impact and a down strike, I now threaten the hole on every greenside chip. Some revolutionary stuff, I now feel like my golf is getting back to where I was last summer.
    My last missing piece was my high slices off every tee with driver. I watched this video and it clicked, I was pulling for too long and leaving the face open. Today I went out and for driver I had one new thought, pull, stall, swing. Unbelievable, I was pulling the drives up the left with a baby fade back into the left of fairway. So much more controllable than my starts right goes right slices. First time in months I felt in control of my driver.
    I played 36 holes today and first round I matched my best ever round at my new home club (joined last year) of 83 (+14)... Second round I smashed it with a 79(+10)! Also played both rounds with one golf ball.
    I know I have written a mammoth comment here but I hope you made it this far. Thank you so much for this instructional content!!

    Another excellent video explanation of how the driver swing works. As I’ve said many times, the driver has always been my nemesis. Watching this video and listening to your explanation really brought home what I was doing wrong yesterday. I was bowing my wrist, leaning back and not releasing the club at impact, the ball was doing exactly what you described. I have a broom and will start practicing with it. Thanks for the insight. Cheers.

    Hi Stuart, have watched & followed your videos for a few months now. Really liking and appreciate your content and instruction.
    The broom as an aid and visual is great - I tend to respond well to visuals.
    Would the broom be similar to a hammer held in the golf grip with the head rotated 90 degs to form a T-shape? Had used this imagery for a while to great success but over time from a nice draw I started having trouble squaring the face and got push slices.
    Would it make sense if this broom method requires more left arm supination (from delivery through impact) if someone is previously been using more wrists to get through the ball?
    I am right handed, play right handed but seem to swing better with left arm/hand feels.

    • @GoodGolfCoaching
      @GoodGolfCoaching  Před 19 dny +1

    • @GoodGolfCoaching
      @GoodGolfCoaching  Před 14 dny

      Absolutely Robin; how golfers use their chest through strike is essential and only possible with superb leg action. People suggest they are standing too close to the ball, reality is, its needed when handle pressure is at its maximum! Hope that helps Sir.

    Stuart, good video. This works--am hitting the golf ball straight. Had some difficulty transitioning to the release -- was pulling in to my body too far. Watched you video over many times and saw that you actually keep the handle at the same distance from your body but pull it down and to the left allowing the club head to square. Is this correct? also the broom put too much strain on my wrists, so started to use the orange whip which has a heavy club face and you can pull, stall and swing with it. Worked well, and then put it into practice with the driver and had success. Would appreciate you explaining the difference between angle of attack and loft. Also would appreciate your telling us how to use this technique consistently because I struggle with the timing as to when I should end the pull phase, stall and swing. Any tips on this? thanks again.

    This might be the biggest load of shite I've ever heard! His entire approach and belief of what needs to happen in a golf swing is based on a totally false premise. If that false premise were true, he'd be a genius but it's not so literally everything he's advocating is total crap and absolute nonsense. I'm sure the author of this video will read this and think I'm an idiot but in fact there is a level of understanding of the golf swing that he is completely unaware of which is why he believes what he does. I understand he's trying his best but his correlations and examples actually have no real world applications. Maybe the funniest thing is his example of a bad impact position is almost exactly that of many of the best players in the world. Take a look at Cam Champ ... He's almost identical to this "example of wrong." If you look at his example at 9:35 is absolutely textbook and then he goes on to say it's "garbage." The golf club is not a f'n broom! Why use a prop to illustrate what you should be doing with a golf club ... because they don't work the same! Just do it with a golf club!
    This guy is not stupid he's just misguided and his understanding of physics is elementary at best.
    What he is advocating and teaching is the swing that every beginner believes they should do. It's completely wrong and no good players do that but almost no one knows that it's wrong because they can't even comprehend that there's any other way.
