Alonso thinking during the crash:
*I better get out. Mom's watching.*
Respect
yeah, after watching some F1 crash. Those driver really2 think about the people they love. Remember grosjean crash traping inside flame for 30s..But when he got out, he keep insisted to walk even though everybody said no need to walk they will bring ambulance bed to him. But he insisted to walk to show to everyone he was okay. Because for them any race driver when you crash, if you cannot walk it will show to your love one watching on tv that you is hurt really bad. And you family will worry so much about you. So they keep insisted to walk to show they are ok so their family and love one doesnt need to worry.
@@slyztercoreveanged3175 but grosjean wasn’t ok and the only reason he could walk was because he was pumped up on adrenaline
@@ploppyjr2373 i think he meant more that Grojean meant to show that he wasn't hurt too badly to his fam. There's been many crashes where the driver is dragged out and then later dies and it's in the back of everyone's head now that there is something seriously wrong if they can't walk.
Yes mom wants to know your okay, when he is in shock did anything bad happened to his boy, when his boy roll out with fast speed on formula car.😂

The fact that people die in highway car crashes at no faster than 100km/h yet f1 drivers can barrel roll at nearly 300km/h and walk out unscathed is just incredible. Safety has come a long way in this sport.

@@funsession9002 This one isn't, in fact most cameras at F1 races aren't remotely operated
@@pleopsidium6960how do you know that? The cablecam is remote aswell. Not insulting, just wondering, since at the end of the shot it looks like this is some sort of hole in the barriere to stick a remote camera. But I will see if I find other shots from this perspective of the race and comment again.

that's not the sort of crash the halo was made for
For all intents and purposes - 99.999% of all open-wheel racing took place before halo. Heck - they used to intentionally not have seatbelts. The thinking was you wanted to be away from the car.
@@Ruefus They had seat belts, but drivers chose not use them because they thought it was better to be ejected from the car rather than stuck in it if it caught fire.

GEORGE RUSSELL TAKE NOTE - this is how you respond to a dangerous crash. massive respect to both gutierrez and alonso
@JP Koji well russels front tyre almost flew into bottas his face, could very well be that the halo prevented that, nevertheless it was very unsportsmanlike of russel to come after bottas when he is still so shaken up from the crash
Bla bla bla
@@championxxlNL oooohhh armer Bottas.
@@championxxlNL honestly kinda hoping Russell becomes an aggressive (heel) of the sport, as long as it wasn’t dangerous. It would be nice to have more heated rivalries between drivers.
In the stress of a crash maybe you are very nervous and react not in a logic way, but Russell is a proffessional and should know how to react to a crash, going against the other driver and bumping his helmet is not acceptable at all, he should have a warning for that.
Neymar: Step on his toe -> agony and death
Alonso: Crash at 300km/h -> walking away, waving and smiling
And Alonzo still got a red card.
who ever was driving the haas: asked if alonso is ok, instead of whining that he crashed into him.
Fuck that little cry baby cheat!!
Ney > s2
You do realise that there's a difference? Neymar does it to fool the referee, of course it's not great sportsmanship however it's not the same as getting out of a car that crashed at 200-300 km/h to show your family you are alive. Grow up.
THe fact you can survive many of these crashes leads to me tipping my Hat to the Engineers who design these.
cmsjr123 the area where the drivers sit is reinforced with Titanium, the rest is made so that it crumbles, on purpose, it makes a mess, but it reduces the risk of the drivers getting injured instead of parts hanging around and potentially hitting the drivers
cmsjr123 flipping is actually way safer than a full on impact, as the car flips, it slowly scrubs of speed, versus a sudden stop.
totally aggree
its awesome how engineer makes this cars much safer
The engineer of the body or the car? :)
I feel like most modern cars that can go over 150 should have a required roll and engine cage. Most supercars any crash above 35mph it's a write off 9/10 times. Driver with injuries. Like imagine the cars of the future requiring hans to unlock the full engine. Supercars are for the rich anyways so why cheap out by not having a roll cage with harnesses?

I wasn’t following F1 closely at the time but I remember this crash being big news. The two things I will always remember from it is Alonso looking back at that loose pile of parts that used to be a McLaren and putting his hands on his knees, and him and Gutierrez having a small hug.
These were the days, no hate, no toxic fans, no Gutierrez should retire, no insults or silly memes. I miss them days
Verstappen didn't have his large amount of fanboys yet (though it was growing), Liberty Media didn't own the sport, and DTS wasn't a thing yet. May have been boring having Merc entering their third year of dominance after 4 years of RB dominance, but it was absolutely so much better.
Just wanna clarify that the initial point isn't meant to be a dig at Max (don't like or dislike him, but he's a great driver and it wasn't his fault the FIA are shitcunts), but at his fanboys who have infected the sport. They set the F1 community into a downward spiral, which was exacerbated by Liberty and DTS, and now every fanbase has a very vocal section of toxic fans. Hard to even remain neutral in this sport, as you'll always get dragged into toxic arguments.
What is it like now? Why is it toxic?
@@GH69107 have you met hamilton and max fans, sponsored by drive to survive? they ruined the community.
@@TheGospelOfCars Havent had the pleasure yet. Perhaps I'll stick to watching without associating with any fanbase.
They cut the part that showed them hugging afterwards, I think that is important as it shows the concern they had for each other and true sportsmanship.

Had a guy move over on me in a kart race. Flying a kart not bad until you factor in gravity Could not stand up straight for 6 months. The guy I hit asked if I was ok and apologized for the bad move. I dont think you can flop in f1 without people thinking your dead lol
soccer players flop too fool the refs. why the fuck would a f1 driver flop? to scare his family?
that might be the best answer I have ever seen xD
A football player often exaggerates the pain in the hope that the opponent who hit him is warned or expelled, and to get a penalty for his team. We all know, when the player is really bad hurted or falls to the ground for a heart attack then everyone, teammates and opponents come to help him and call the doctor.
*cough* *cough* Neymar
That was a big one in recent times. f1 cars are like tanks ,totally indestructible.
and the drivers are even stronger, but then you have football players on the other hand.....
jerryl davis they are the exact opposite of indestructible. They are designed to break up on impact and absorb the force.
rcb0683 yes, I know that . what I meant was that f1 cars will save the driver even in the most baddest crashes. the central monocoque structure is made of many layers of carbon fiber which is indestructible and will save the driver . apart from this central monocoque structure rest all the parts break apart in a crash to absorb the impact .
jerryl davis That just looked like a big one. It mostly was just a spectacular crash with many rolls. This compared with the crash of Magnussen at Spa is really nothing to be honest. The Acceleration force of Magnussens crash was huge.
