How to Create a Doodle Animation in Adobe After Effects

In this tutorial I'll be going over how I created a doodle animation video overlay using Adobe After Effects. The example video is from a project we did for Walt Disney World a few months ago for their #NowMoreThanEver campaign. The entire project took over 35 hours just in editing. It was my first time doing a doodle animation and I learned a lot so I hope to teach you all the techniques and short cuts I learned so that you can go out and create some fun doodle animations of your own! Great video, helped a lot with getting me started. Only thing I did differently was set the brush duration to custom and set it to 2 frames since I animated on 2s, cutting back on duplications and making the timeline more streamlined. Cheers!

Nice tutorial, but a bit too complicated. Just set the duration to custom and choose 2 frames. Also activate the stop watch on the path snd just pull the layer of the frame a bit forward in time so you can basically onion skin the frame-by-frame animation, because you will always see the last frame you’ve drawn.
