Apparently it's a squares and rectangles thing, since toads are a subclassification of frogs.
Differences that make a toad are drier, rough, and/or bumpy skin (frogs are smooth and slimy), crawling movement (instead of hopping), and add in a dash of random scientist bias one way or the other 😝
