Lusat staff is not better?, i know it drain a lot of FP, but i actually use it (because i build a mage from one of your builds), and after use it, seems dealing damage worth it, i can control the fp i consume with no problem, even with lest mind in the stats. So... for players like me, that can deal with fp drain like that, its worth?, or mabey i do more damage with the Carian Regal Scepter?.
Trying to give people use for the DLC content as much as possible. You can adapt if you feel some other weapon or talisman etc works, these builds are meant to be springboards to exploration and fun, not specific ultimate destinations
I don't know why people love to talk shit about Fextralife's builds. Like sure they aren't going to be 100% optimized, but that's not really the point, is it? To me the fun and flavour factors are equally as important as a just being powerful.
The point of these builds is thematic fun. People like to make builds using exploits and get patched and broken. Of the 120 plus builds I have made, only one was broken by a patch, the rest just mildly nerfed when they broke all the op things. Ignore the big number syndrome crowd and have fun!
It's because the builds often make a lot of decisions that aren't really good. In this build for example, the faith investment really isn't worth it. Vs DLC bosses you'll spend most your buff uptime dodging because this build focuses on really slow spells. Getting rid of the faith investment gives the player a lot of room for other things. Like better endurance or a weapon for your riposte, since gravity spells do posture damage.
@@azureaurelia5381 Yeah I wouldn't have put those points in faith either. Could have put those in to Vigor and Endurance for better survivability. Maybe some mind for more FP. Also, personally I don't like having loads of spells equip at a time. It difficult scrolling through them in the middle of a boss fight.

People who play games like COD, gta, even Fortnite and other popular games are now playing Elden ring because it’s cool now. Winning game of the year doesn’t mean every demographic will buy it. I did buy it in December 22” because of my friend. Kai absolutely deserves that statue and from soft knows exactly what they’re doing.
At rune level 425, I don't have "builds" but rather loadouts. So having said that, I do love using this channel's DLC builds. I just swap out whatever spells and equipment to what I'm in the mood for.
@Gokotta1776 best thing to do man is just get one of those save edit mods. Gives you enough runes at the start to just make the character the level you want it at, gives you all the items and weapons, etc. Just saves an excruciating amount of time.

I love this build!!! As someone who has played ER for over 2500 hours, with probably over 2k hours using rock sling as my primary spell through level 135 or so, here are some suggestions on how to improve it. 1.) I HIGHLY recommend Lusat's Glintstone Staff over the Carian Regal Scepter. While Lusat's does increase the FP cost of your spells by a whopping 50%, if you are prioritizing FP flasks over health flasks, it literally doesn't matter as you will never run out of FP flasks in almost all cases. At 80 int, there is an almost 40 point difference in Sorcery Scaling, and every point really matters in this build. While you do need to drink FP flasks more often in a big fight, the increased damage far outweighs this inconvenience. With 14 flasks, I usually rock an 8/6 FP flask/Health Flask ratio, switching to 9/5 only if I'm going to be killing everything in a long dungeon and still need gas in the tank for the boss. For long boss fights, I will switch to 7/7 or even 6/8, as you will usually melt the boss way before using up your FP flasks. Please see more suggestions in my replies below.
2.) Max out your Mind at 38. If you've collected all 12 Sacred Tears in the game, then with 38 mind you will refill all of your FP from empty with one flask. This is the most efficient use of your Mind. Any additional points you add to Mind only matter the first time you use FP after resting, and with this build, where you're probably going to be refilling your FP several times before resting, it is most efficient to use those valuable attribute points elsewhere. Use those points to boost your Int, Vitality, or Faith if you need to. This tip relates to any caster build, not just this one.
3.) Arrow's Reach Talisman is core to this build. The Arrow's Reach Talisman transforms Rock Sling into the spell with the greatest range in the entire game. It greatly reduces the damage fall off of Rock Sling at longer ranges, effectively increasing it's damage at those ranges. Combined with the superior poise damage that Rock Sling dishes out, Rock Sling/Arrow's Reach is one of the most powerful combos in the entire game. You can often stun bosses before they have a chance to close with you at the beginning of the fight by opening the fight spamming Rock Sling at range (this is especially effective on dragon heads). On a side note, this extra range also applies to Ambush Shard, and although this spell isn't a gravity spell, it's a very powerful tool to include in your repertoire. While I was hoping that Arrow's Soaring Sting Talisman would apply the extra 8% damage to Rock Sling, sadly it does not. And since Arrow's Reach Talisman gives just a little more range, Arrow's Soaring Sting Talisman ends up not being an upgrade for this combo.
4.) Using the Gravitas ash of war is a great gravity-based addition to this build. I use it on a maxed out Uchigatana with the Magic affinity applied. This is a great tool for ambushing npc's that hide from you (like those pesky imps), or quickly clearing out enemies that are tightly packed around you. Gravitas works through walls, floors and ceilings adding a fun new way to locate nearby enemies that you can hear but can't see. It's also a fun way to find secret doors. Occasionally the Uchigatana comes in handy for quickly finishing off that sliver of health an annoying enemy might still have after they've closed with you. I also use the Uchigatana as an FP-free way to apply the final death to undead that just don't know when to take a hint and stay down.

I'm rocking a rl200 build with int 80/str 34/dex 14. With these stats in mind, are there better weapons for the gravitas ash of war than the uchigatana? Like Milady for example? its busted and is currently really obnoxius in PVP, where it basically zones your out of half the map and then you get traded by it for 1k damage whenever you get close lol
This needs a melee option. Taking a few points from faith into str/dex allows for Meteoric Ore Blade, or a claymore with waves of darkness/spinning gravity/cragblade, all thematic. Wing of astel and Bastards stars work thematically as well. You could just throw Golden vow onto a dagger and use it that way. Great stuff as always, though . I'd like to see a Spirit Glaive/ Rancor build!

I tried a Vyke Cosplay, and it was fun but not very effective, at least not as much as what i was already doing. Since pretty much everything is immune to madness, you have to treat them like fire spells. Only tip i got really😅 the War Spear was fun
What I'd really love to do is some kind of Gravity Spellsword build. I really like playing with magic as a primary but using a weapon for close up encounters (and to save FP). The problem I've been finding is that if you do that you're sacrificing levels in INT or FAITH for levels in STR or DEX. But there's some pretty cool gravity weapons in the game (though not as many as I'd like to see).
Not sure of it is worth testing but it's base game thing, maybe a build using the thorn sorcery staff to scale intelligence spells with faith to try and get a good crossover of damage types? I know the new staff from one of the bosses can cast both to probabky greater efficacy but I mainly say this cause I love seeing off meta stuff brought to a cozy niche spot; great vidr as always Fextralife 😀
I do love these builds. Since ive gotten every stat to 80 its easy to replace talismans to use other armor choices. I took the twinblade knight and carian knight and merged them. Mainly use for melee and carian sorcery for stance damge and some ranged spells
If I crank INT and FAI, I'll consider using Staff of the Great Beyond, provided it outperforms the Prince of Death's Staff. The former also scales off the two stats, AND can cast incantations.
I actually am using a different build of yours, the one with dane's kicks and ice element, but every now and then I just pull out a staff and cast missile on the ground just to blast enemies away and it gives me an opportunity to get a couple blows on them while they're down. Even if the damage isn't taht good with my build the ability to just bully them feels so cathartic

Honestly, sotgb is just never going to out damage the prince of death staff, it's only really better if you're not comfortable switching between pod and golden order seal when you want to cast incants, or if you're doing pvp it can allow for easier switchups. The sonaf also doesn't really work on the same build as rellana's swords, rellana's is more of a quality weapon whereas sonaf is a pure int/faith weapon. Plus, imo, the sonaf is just better in every way but moveset and style, it can constantly outdamage rellana's and has a much better weapon skill
I'm gonna combine this with the maternal mage build you posted sometime ago that I've been using, it'll make it versatile as I'll have a physical damage spell that's ranged unlike the cherishing fingers spell, very situational imo but it'll still work lol also since I've already gotten arcane to 70 with int, maternal staff is already out damaging regal scepter, I do plan on taking the build to lvl 300 to invest in faith to eventually use POD staff but thats an ng+ goal
sick build bro, i had high hopes for the gravity missiles, but its so hard to use compare to blade of stone, not to mention the supposed to be pulling pulse dont really got much pull, but definitely putting this into the long list of builds im gonna eventually try xd
Strangely I really like gravitational missile on a battlemage build that uses the carian sorcery sword if you dualwield thrusting swords. You'll get flashbanged but the weapons will absolutely delete enemies that are flinching from the missile and then boom. It feels really fun at least. You're right though, the pull isn't good, so it's better just to be designed to go to the enemy instead i think and use it like a supplement. Or aim it at the ground.
Might switch back to being a full caster. Had some fun with the great katanas and milady but I played basically all of the base game as a gravity wizard.

One of the most challenging things to make this build happen is acquire Blades of Stone. Commander Gaius is one of the most difficult bosses I've ever encountered. lol
Add Radahn's swords in the right hand and become Gravity Warrior Sorcerer and have non FP using bonk option :) But you'd need a bit of Strength for that
I'm always careful while using range spells such as collapsing stars or star shower to keep a good great sword in my right hand (Claymore, Bstard Sword etc.) for close range/stagger damage using heavy infinity since it increases Claymore strength scaling to B scaling, and in my left is a staff (preferably lusats glint stone, carian, or staff of the great beyond.) I'd recommend 20 or 60 strength depending on your level.
Why go heavy when magic is right there? Magic infusion, 80 int, and then you have more points to put into vig/mind/end, plus the sword will then benefit from magic scorpion and magic physic tear
@@baileyp_ it's still a C scaling with magic affinity unless using a weapon that has good int scaling such as the dark moon great sword, and royal knight great sword. or if you use a magic armament on a Claymore or an ash of war which buffs the Claymore with magic damage it would use the magic affinity greatly.
@@baileyp_ I think the "Scholars Armament" spell will significantly improve scaling with intelligence on typical strength swords such as Claymore or Bstard Sword along with a Magic Affinity on any ash of war you may choose. I'd suggest the spin slash, stomp sweep, giants hunt, savage lions claw, or my favorite Carian Sovereignty ashes of war (which is an ash of war in which scales incredibly with intelligence.)
I used the Dancing Blade of Ranah with the Dancer set in my play-through but there were definitely times where I wasn't sure how to use it against bosses and wasn't working well. Other bosses I melted them. Would be interested in your thoughts on a build like that? I used blue dancer talisman, shard of Alexander, rotten sword insignia and dragon great shield. (With a second cotton sword with the tear, can't remember what its called)
I have never noticed the increased FP in the end game. At that point, you should have more than enough FP and max upgraded flask. It only makes a difference in the early game. At 80, intelligence lusat is far more superior, and you will not notice the drawback at that level unless your build is completely terrible, but with the stats in the video, lusat has no competition with them.

I have two questions for spell users: has Elden Ring some kind of indicator if Im in a range of the spell Im casting?? Too many times I cast a spell and it vanishes like 1cm before it hits the enemy -.-""" mostly the Glinstone variants.... Any recomendations on a "secondary melee weapon" ?? Magic infused Longsword? Cold infused Longsword?
For the range of spells you just have to memorize the distance of each spell, and if you want a good secondary weapon, there are a lot of good choices,the wing of astel or the new star lined sword are some fun choices. Its best to play with a staff in the off hand and you weapon in the main and play close range most of the time. Use your spells when an ennemy retreats or if your far away. You can even ise close range spells like carian slicer
There isn't any indicator, you'll just have to kind of experiment and find out how the range of each spell feels. I'd also recommend going magic infusion, some people will tell you cold but imo the cold infusion isn't as good unless you are mostly using the weapon to deal damage, as a mage you want to have a weapon that attacks quickly enough for your comfort and does good damage for that speed. Basically, cold will be better if you build around the cold weapon, magic will be better if you just want something to pull out of your pocket and finish something off, since magic infusion will pretty much always have higher damage on an int build. My personal favorite "sidearms" for a mage are things like longsword, uchigatana, or the new Milady, since they all attack fairly quickly, have some stagger and damage potential, and have access to a lot of really useful ashes of war👍
Question: many enemies in the DLC are agressive AF, like they are on some kind of adrenaline injections or what... so casting with 10 DEX is really slow (for me at least). Wouldnt be advised to use Radagon Icon as a talisman or have at least 30 DEX ??? -> opens for a posible melee weapon like some Katanas. Or Halbert/ spears......oh wait, that would mean I need about 20 STR too... maybe some Rapiers/ Strait sworts then? Longsword is a Mage best secondary :D I dont know about others but man, casting Rock Slig take about 3 weeks plus I need to measure the distance -.-"""

Just a random thought, but Ive never seen the bolt of gransax in any builds and it’s criminally underrated in my opinion. Aka a Thor builds are fun

Just use Spinning Weapon AOW on the Carian Regal Sceptre if you need something close range.
best melee option would be Carian Slicer tbh

Dragon bayle spells plus madness hand work well together and prob any fire stuff
I tried a Vyke Cosplay, and it was fun but not very effective, at least not as much as what i was already doing.
Since pretty much everything is immune to madness, you have to treat them like fire spells. Only tip i got really😅 the War Spear was fun

What I'd really love to do is some kind of Gravity Spellsword build. I really like playing with magic as a primary but using a weapon for close up encounters (and to save FP). The problem I've been finding is that if you do that you're sacrificing levels in INT or FAITH for levels in STR or DEX. But there's some pretty cool gravity weapons in the game (though not as many as I'd like to see).
Not sure of it is worth testing but it's base game thing, maybe a build using the thorn sorcery staff to scale intelligence spells with faith to try and get a good crossover of damage types? I know the new staff from one of the bosses can cast both to probabky greater efficacy but I mainly say this cause I love seeing off meta stuff brought to a cozy niche spot; great vidr as always Fextralife 😀
Love me some pure casting builds, but I’m still having fun big-bonking with the ancient ore meteoric greatsword.
I do love these builds. Since ive gotten every stat to 80 its easy to replace talismans to use other armor choices. I took the twinblade knight and carian knight and merged them. Mainly use for melee and carian sorcery for stance damge and some ranged spells
I think people have realized that the new sorcery spells, and a handful of the new incantations are straight amazing.

If I crank INT and FAI, I'll consider using Staff of the Great Beyond, provided it outperforms the Prince of Death's Staff. The former also scales off the two stats, AND can cast incantations.
I actually am using a different build of yours, the one with dane's kicks and ice element, but every now and then I just pull out a staff and cast missile on the ground just to blast enemies away and it gives me an opportunity to get a couple blows on them while they're down. Even if the damage isn't taht good with my build the ability to just bully them feels so cathartic

Honestly, sotgb is just never going to out damage the prince of death staff, it's only really better if you're not comfortable switching between pod and golden order seal when you want to cast incants, or if you're doing pvp it can allow for easier switchups. The sonaf also doesn't really work on the same build as rellana's swords, rellana's is more of a quality weapon whereas sonaf is a pure int/faith weapon. Plus, imo, the sonaf is just better in every way but moveset and style, it can constantly outdamage rellana's and has a much better weapon skill

Blue dew and Beastial vitality means infinite regen as it will replace the fp spent before it wears out. That means sword talisman is near always on.
I'm gonna combine this with the maternal mage build you posted sometime ago that I've been using, it'll make it versatile as I'll have a physical damage spell that's ranged unlike the cherishing fingers spell, very situational imo but it'll still work lol also since I've already gotten arcane to 70 with int, maternal staff is already out damaging regal scepter, I do plan on taking the build to lvl 300 to invest in faith to eventually use POD staff but thats an ng+ goal
sick build bro, i had high hopes for the gravity missiles, but its so hard to use compare to blade of stone, not to mention the supposed to be pulling pulse dont really got much pull, but definitely putting this into the long list of builds im gonna eventually try xd
Strangely I really like gravitational missile on a battlemage build that uses the carian sorcery sword if you dualwield thrusting swords. You'll get flashbanged but the weapons will absolutely delete enemies that are flinching from the missile and then boom. It feels really fun at least. You're right though, the pull isn't good, so it's better just to be designed to go to the enemy instead i think and use it like a supplement. Or aim it at the ground.
Might switch back to being a full caster. Had some fun with the great katanas and milady but I played basically all of the base game as a gravity wizard.

ARROW'S REACH TALISMAN works on Rock Sling. I use it to cheese all Dragons. They can hit extremely far, like LORETTA'S MASTERY far. Super fun.
4:25 Fextra, use Stone Edge. It's super effective

One of the most challenging things to make this build happen is acquire Blades of Stone. Commander Gaius is one of the most difficult bosses I've ever encountered. lol
Add Radahn's swords in the right hand and become Gravity Warrior Sorcerer and have non FP using bonk option :) But you'd need a bit of Strength for that

If using rock sling as a primary source of damage, arrow reach talisman affects the distance the spell travels.

I'm always careful while using range spells such as collapsing stars or star shower to keep a good great sword in my right hand (Claymore, Bstard Sword etc.) for close range/stagger damage using heavy infinity since it increases Claymore strength scaling to B scaling, and in my left is a staff (preferably lusats glint stone, carian, or staff of the great beyond.) I'd recommend 20 or 60 strength depending on your level.
Why go heavy when magic is right there? Magic infusion, 80 int, and then you have more points to put into vig/mind/end, plus the sword will then benefit from magic scorpion and magic physic tear
@@baileyp_ it's still a C scaling with magic affinity unless using a weapon that has good int scaling such as the dark moon great sword, and royal knight great sword. or if you use a magic armament on a Claymore or an ash of war which buffs the Claymore with magic damage it would use the magic affinity greatly.
@@baileyp_ I think the "Scholars Armament" spell will significantly improve scaling with intelligence on typical strength swords such as Claymore or Bstard Sword along with a Magic Affinity on any ash of war you may choose. I'd suggest the spin slash, stomp sweep, giants hunt, savage lions claw, or my favorite Carian Sovereignty ashes of war (which is an ash of war in which scales incredibly with intelligence.)
I used the Dancing Blade of Ranah with the Dancer set in my play-through but there were definitely times where I wasn't sure how to use it against bosses and wasn't working well. Other bosses I melted them. Would be interested in your thoughts on a build like that? I used blue dancer talisman, shard of Alexander, rotten sword insignia and dragon great shield. (With a second cotton sword with the tear, can't remember what its called)

I have never noticed the increased FP in the end game. At that point, you should have more than enough FP and max upgraded flask. It only makes a difference in the early game. At 80, intelligence lusat is far more superior, and you will not notice the drawback at that level unless your build is completely terrible, but with the stats in the video, lusat has no competition with them.

For the range of spells you just have to memorize the distance of each spell, and if you want a good secondary weapon, there are a lot of good choices,the wing of astel or the new star lined sword are some fun choices. Its best to play with a staff in the off hand and you weapon in the main and play close range most of the time. Use your spells when an ennemy retreats or if your far away. You can even ise close range spells like carian slicer
There isn't any indicator, you'll just have to kind of experiment and find out how the range of each spell feels. I'd also recommend going magic infusion, some people will tell you cold but imo the cold infusion isn't as good unless you are mostly using the weapon to deal damage, as a mage you want to have a weapon that attacks quickly enough for your comfort and does good damage for that speed. Basically, cold will be better if you build around the cold weapon, magic will be better if you just want something to pull out of your pocket and finish something off, since magic infusion will pretty much always have higher damage on an int build. My personal favorite "sidearms" for a mage are things like longsword, uchigatana, or the new Milady, since they all attack fairly quickly, have some stagger and damage potential, and have access to a lot of really useful ashes of war👍
Dexterity attribute doesn’t increase casting speed..? Or just not prioritizing it?

many enemies in the DLC are agressive AF, like they are on some kind of adrenaline injections or what... so casting with 10 DEX is really slow (for me at least). Wouldnt be advised to use Radagon Icon as a talisman or have at least 30 DEX ??? -> opens for a posible melee weapon like some Katanas. Or Halbert/ spears......oh wait, that would mean I need about 20 STR too... maybe some Rapiers/ Strait sworts then? Longsword is a Mage best secondary :D
